1) 関門橋 / Kanmon Bridge

関門橋

関門橋 (カンモンキョウ) は、関門海峡 (カンモンカイキョウ) の最狭部の
山口県下関市と福岡県北九州市門司を結びます。

1973年開通、長さは1068m、高さは61mの吊り橋です。

この旅行では見るだけです。

Kanmon Bridge

Kanmon Bridge is is a suspension bridge crossing the narrowest part of the Kanmon Straits, between Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture and Moji, Kita-Kyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

It was built in 1973, the length : 1068m, height : 61m.

I just looked at the Bridge in this trip.

2) 関門トンネルを歩く / Walk in Kanmon Tunnel

関門トンネルは海底トンネルです。
車道：3,461m (海底部分780m) と人道 :780m があり、1958年に開通されました。
人道入口には、エレベーターがあり九州門司側は地下約60m、下関側は約55m、降ります。

私達は門司側から壇ノ浦へ関門トンネルを歩きました。

ちなみに無料で、人道は自転車、２輪車も降りて利用できます。

Moji Entrance of Kanmon Tunnel

There are two tunnels, one is for cars : 3,461m (under the sea part : 780m),

another one for people, bicycle and motorcycle (alight from them)
: 780m and was opened in 1958.

We walked from Moji, Kita-Kyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture to

Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The entrances have lift, about 60m down to ground Kyushu Moji side and
about down to ground 55m Dan-no-ura, Shimonoseki side.

We use lift for the tunnel, it is free.

"関門トンネル（TN延長3,461.4m）は、昭和12年（1937年）に計画され戦争による中断はあったものの、

21年の歳月をかけて、昭和33年（1959年）3月に完成した海底トンネルで、車道下には人や自転車も通れる人道（海底部780m）も備えています。

関門トンネルと昭和48年（1973年）に開通した関門橋、本州と九州を結ぶ大動脈として現在も重要な役割を果たしています。

関門トンネルは海底トンネルのため、絶えず海水がトンネルの中にしみ出してきます。

その量は１日4,800t、ドラム缶にすれば24,000本分です。

このため、トンネル内に海水がたまらないように下関、門司側の２ヶ所に水抜き専用の立抗を儲け、排水ポンプで地上にくみ出しています。

又、万一の停電時に備えて、自家用発電設備が備えられてあり、一般家庭1000軒分の電気を送る事が出来ます。

停電時には、この自家用発電機から電気が送られ、色々な設備が停止することなく動き続けます。

"The Tunnel started a test digging in 1937 and finished in 1939.

In 1939 they started digging for the real tunnel, although it was stopped by the World War II and then restarted in 1952, finally it was opened March in 1958. It needed 21 years.

In the undersea tunnel, seawater seeps consistently .

The quantity is 4,800 ton in a day which is 24,000 drum can therefore they there are shafts for taking water both side and draw water by drainage pump.

And also in case power cut, they have Private power-generating so every parts or elements work as usual."
