マリンピア松島水族館は、1927年に開館され、日本で２番目に長い歴史をもつ水族館でした。

東北地方太平洋沖地震 (2011年3月11日)による被害を受けましたが、同年4月に営業は開始され、移転計画もたてられました。

様々な理由から移転の計画は断念(★)され、2015年5月11日に88年の歴史を閉じました。

移転計画は中止になりましたが、飼育動物と飼育員は、仙台うみの杜水族館 (センダイウミノモリスイゾクカン）が受け入れることになり、仙台うみの杜水族館は、2015年57月1日に開業されました。

私達が訪れたのは4月27日、閉館間際のマリンピア松島水族館を見ることができました。

思っていたよりも、りっぱで楽しい水族館でした。
閉館してしまうのが惜しいな〜と思いつつ館内を回りました。

Marinpia Matsushima Aquarium was opened in 1927 and had the second longest history as an aquarium in Japan.

They had damage from the "Earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku", 11th of March 2011, although they restarted in April that same year and had a plan to move and rebuild.

However, the plan had stopped for a few reasons, eventually Marinpia Matsushima Aquarium was closed 11th of May, 2015, their history was ended after 88 years.

Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium ; Sendai Sea Forest Aquarium accepted their rearing animals, fish and keepers, and Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium opened 1st of July 2015.

We visited and could see Marinpia Matsushima Aquarium 27th of April in 2015.

The aquarium was greater and more enjoyable than I thought.While I walked around there I felt it was too good to be closed .

松島湾には牡蠣(カキ)の養殖場がいくつかあり、
遊覧船からもその場所がわかりました。
海の中は、このようになっていたのですね〜。

There are a few oyster farms in Matsushima Bay.
I noticed the farms from our cruise boat.
They are like this under the sea.
