A. '竹ヶ谷' へ方面へ
Toward 'Takegaya Valley'
私と夫Rは初めて鎌倉広町緑地を散策したときには、鎌倉山口入り口から入り、浄水センター入り口から出ました。
今日は、浄水センター入り口からは降りず、外周コースを進み、
'きばちの窪' ・'竹ヶ谷' へ方面にへ降りてゆきました。

| 左 : 外周コース / 右 : 'きはちの窪' ・'竹ヶ谷' 方面 右の道は下り道です。 Left : Outer Course Right : Toward 'Kihachi no Kubo' : Kihachi Sunken Place & 'Takegaya' : Takegaya Valley The path on the right is a downhill way.  広さは約48ヘクタール (48haは、東京ドーム約10個分、480,000㎡) 鎌倉広町緑地は、2015年4月に開園しました。 約40年前に住宅開発計画がありましたが近隣住民を中心として 反対運動が起こり神奈川県の支援をうけ、 土地を業者から買取り現在の緑地になっています。 Area, about 48 Hectares Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi opened in April 2015. There was a housing development plan for here about 40 years ago, but an opposition movement centered on neighbouring residents took place, and with the support of Kanagawa Prefecture, the land was purchased from a trader and is now the green area. |
Toward 'Takegaya Valley'
When I and my husband R first walked in Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi, we entered from the Kamakurayama Entrance and exited from the Water Purification Centre Entrance.
(Ryokuchi means green land.)
Today, we did not go down, but went on the outer course and towards Kihachi Sunken Place and Takegaya Valley.
B. 木々に囲まれて / Surrounded by Trees

山村 暮鳥 (ヤマムラ ボチュウ / 1884 - 1924) の '雲'という詩でした。

| 絵本に出てくるような丸木橋をリスが渡っています。 A squirrel is crossing the log bridge as if it appears in a picture book.  このリスは我が家にやってくるリス達よりも ずっと大きく、たくましい気がします。 I feel this squirrel is much bigger and stronger than the squirrels that come by our house. |

| 岩肌と苔 湿気が多いところであることを感じます。 Rock Surface and Moss I feel that it is a humid place. |

E. 自然に返す / Returning to Nature

| 自然に返す 2019年9月の台風の傷跡でしょうか？ でもちゃんと手は入れられています。 手入れの指針は自然に返す方向に感じられます。 Returning to Nature Is this a scar of typhoons in September 2019? But it seems to be looked after. I feel that the guidelines for care seem to be in the direction of returning to nature.  |
緑地を歩いている時に、英国のウェクハースト プレイス (Wakehurst Place ) を思い出しました。
ウェクハースト プレイは、ナショナル•トラスト所有で王立植物園のキューガーデンが管理しています。
この手入れの方針に気がついた時に、再び、ウェクハースト プレイスを思い出しました。
ウェクハースト プレイスは、465エーカー (189ヘクタール、東京ドーム約40個)で、規模がここの4倍あります。
規模は違っても、自然の森を残し、ある程度整備された道があり、
標識があり、倒れた木々をある程度放置していることが似ています。
Returning to Nature
As I was walking in the Ryokuchi, I remembered Wakehurst Place in Britain.
Wakehurst Place is owned by the National Trust and is managed by Kew Gardens, the Royal Botanic Gardens.
When I realized the Ryokuchi care policy, I remembered Wakehurst Place again.
Wakehurst Place is 465 acres (189 hectares), four times larger than here.
Even if the scale is different, it would be similar to keep a natural forest, some well-maintained paths, signs, and leaving some fallen trees.

'鎌倉広町緑地を歩く' というネットに、下の説明がされていました。
"鎌倉は当時の人が「鎌倉城」と呼んだ城砦都市であった。
鎌倉の外郭をなす山々に戦略拠点として構えられた砦の一つに西の警備を固める「竹ヶ谷古城」という 砦 があった。
広町緑地はほぼそれをカバーしていると考えられる。"
標識の、'お城の台地'というのは、「竹ヶ谷古城」跡なのかもしれません。
According to a website, "Walking in Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi".
"Kamakura was a fortified city that people at that time called
'Kamakura Castle'.
One of the forts set up as a strategic base in the mountains that form the outer shell of Kamakura was a fort called 'Takegaya Kojo' (Takegaya Old Castle) that secured the west guard.
Hiromachi Ryokuchi is thought to cover most of it. "
The sign "Castle Plateau" may be the site of "Takegaya Old Castle".

| 小川の周囲は湿地で、歩くと沈みます。 ビビリの私はひっ！となって、スゴスゴと引き返しました。 The area around the stream is marshy and sinks when I walked. Whoops! I am weak, so I turned back dejectedly. |
