1) 水辺のさんぽ道 / Waterside Walkway
A. 上池 / Upper Pond
この日、私と夫Rは夫婦池に 歩いて行きました。
On this day, my husband R and I walked to the Married Couples Pond Park.

| 鎌倉山口 (左) から、笛田口 (右) (現在地) へ歩きました。 We walked from the 'Entrance of Kamakurayama' (left) to 'Entrance of Fueda' : (現在地 ; You are here) (right). |
上池 / Upper Pond

| 左が '森のさんぽ道' 鎌倉山口から、この道を歩いてきました。 Left is 'Forest Walkway' We walked the way from Entrance of Kamakurayama. |

| 芦(アシ/ ヨシ)がある水辺が好きです。 I like the waterside with reeds. |

| 池と沼の間の感じです。 It feels like between a pond and a swamp.  |
上池の鯉
Carp in Upper Pond

上池にはたくさんの鯉がいます。 There are many carp in the upper pond.  鎌倉の滑川 (ナメリガワ) にも鯉がいて、見慣れています。 なので、鯉の存在で、興奮はしませんが、 ここの鯉の方が色形のバリエーションが豊富で 思わず観察してしまいます。  There are carp in the Nameri River in Kamakura, and I'm used to seeing them. So, I'm not excited by the presence of the carp, however, the carp here have more colours and patterns variations so I can't help observing them.  |
B. 下池 / Lower Pond

| 木の歩道がよく整備されています。 The wooden sidewalks are well maintained.  |

| 下池にもたくさん鯉がいます。 主かと思う巨大な鯉がいたのですが、撮影できませんでした。 There are many carp in the lower pond, too. There was a huge carp that I thought was the guardian, although I couldn't photograph it. |

| ゴールド!? 人面魚かと思うように写ってしまいました。 Gold!? It looks like a human face fish. |

尾びれがドレスにひらひらしています。 私にとっては珍しい鯉。 The tail fin is fluttering like a dress. This carp is unusual for me. |

| 対岸は "のんびり草地" 池を渡って向こうへ行けるようなので、 Rが先へ行きました。 Opposite Bank is "Relaxing Grassland" It seemed like people could cross the pond and go over there, so R went ahead.  |

| 先にデッキに到着して手をふってます。 He arrives at the deck first and is waving. |

| 土手の上に、"水辺のさんぽ道"が伸びています。 On the bank, there is a "Waterside Walkway". |

| 鴨のカップルがいたのですが、 こんな写真しか撮れませんでした。 すみません....。 There was a couple of ducks, although I could only take such a picture. Sorry.... |

| 紅葉を撮影したいと思っていました。 I wanted to photograph the autumn leaves. |
B. 木の歩道 / Wooden Sidewalks

| 木製の歩道が本当によくできていて感心します。 I'm impressed that the wooden sidewalk is really well made. |

| 両脇に小さな落下防止が取り付けられています。 この細やかな配慮は日本特有のものではないかと思います。 Small fall protection is installed on both sides. I think this delicate consideration is unique to Japan. |

| 歩道は池から草地の奥まで伸びています。 The sidewalk extends from the pond to the depths of the grassland.  |
C. 広場 / Open Space

草地というよりは、広場というイメージの場所です。 でも、春や夏なら、'草地’なのかもしれません。 It's more like an open space than a grassland. But in spring or summer, it may be 'Grassland'.  藤棚からの眺め/ View from the Wisteria Trellis  |

D.防空壕のあと / Remains of Air-raid Shelter
草地の右に藤棚があり、左には、'防空壕の跡'があります。
To the right of the grassland is the Wisteria Trellis, and to the left is a 'remain of air-raid shelter'.

| 防空壕の跡があると知って驚きました。 地図を見るとなかなか大きなもののようです。 This explanation board shows the remains of air-raid shelter here : thin black lines, it is said it was made between 1941 - 1945. I was surprised to know that there was an air-raid shelter. Looking at the map, it seems to be a big one |

| この奥に防空壕の跡があるはずですが 入り口は見えません。 There should be the air-raid shelter behind here, but the entrance cannot be seen.  探検隊が入ってゆくような場所に思えます。 It seems like a place where expeditions enter.  とても近くに住宅街があるのに、このような場所があるというのが不思議です。 それだけ、自然を開発して住宅地を作ったということでしょうか？  It is strange that there is such a place even though there is a residential area very close. Does that mean that nature was developed to create a residential area? |

| 木の歩道がないところも石畳によって整備されています。 それも機械的でなくオーガニックな感じに仕上げられているので 自然な感じがします。 Places without wooden sidewalks are also maintained by stone pavements. It also feels natural because it is finished in an organic way rather than mechanically.  |

| 見上げると青空が見えました。 When I looked up, I saw the blue sky. |
3) 西日 / Westerly Sun
草地から池に戻ってきたときには、西日がさしていました。
紅葉は西日によって、より色濃く見えました。
When we returned from the grassland to the pond, the westerly sun was shining.
The autumn leaves looked darker depending on the westerly sun.
4) 管理事務所周辺
Surroundings the Management Office
Rが池の管理事務所兼公衆トイレへ行き、綺麗なトイレであると言っていました。
事務所の隣なので、トイレの管理もきちんとしているのでしょう。
周辺の木々や花も手入れがされていました。
R went to a public toilet by the pond management office and he said it was a clean toilet.
Since it is next to the office, the toilets are probably well managed.
The surrounding trees and flowers were also in good condition.
楽しい半日でした。
きっと四季折々で景色や空気が変わると思うので、違う季節にまた行ってみたいと思います。
It was a fun half day.
I'm sure the scenery and atmosphere will change from season to season, so I'd like to visit there again in a different season.

| 鎌倉山町内会集会所 とてもお洒落な建物で、町内会集会所とは思えません。 私はまだ１度も利用したことがありません。 我が家もこのために幾らかの支払いはしたので使うべきですね。 Kamakurayama Neighbourhood Association Meeting House It's a very fashionable building, and I don't think it looks like a neighborhood association meeting place. I have never used it yet. We also paid something towards this and so we should use it. |
