㊲ケント旅行 / Kent Trip - 4) ウオールマ城と庭 / Walmer Castle and Gardens - 1st of July

The Kitchen Garden❼
この庭は300年近く植え付けされ続けています。
庭の中で最も古くからあります。
なんとなく、お城と畑とはイメージが違うように思いますが、
基本的にお城は要塞であったので、
そこで働く兵士達の食物は必須なものだったでしょうから、
そう、考えれば、一番重要なのはここ！ということになります。
しかしながら、現在では作物の品質よりは、
お城に飾る花々、珍しい野菜や果物のほうに
力が入れられています。

The Kitchen Garden❼
This garden has been in continuous production for about 300 years.
It is the oldest of their gardens.
Somehow I feel a castle and a field are not suited,
although basically a castle was a fort,
so it was necessary to have food for soldiers who worked there,
if I consider like that, this garden should be most important!
However, nowadays they put effort into growing unusual vegetables
 and fruits, flowers for display in the castle rather than 
productive qualities.

向こうに見えるのが温室です。
入室は禁止！

At the back are the Glasshouses.
 We cannot go in!



お城にポテトも飾るのでしょうか？
キッチンガーデンとしてのディスプレイでしょうか？
'Potato Purple Majest'は紫芋らしい？

Do they display potatoes in the castle?
Do they display this as kitchen garden here?
'Potato Purple Majesty' might be Murasaki-Imo?

















The Moat 
Moat Garden❽
'Moat'とは、'お堀'のことです。
ここはガーデンの中でもっとも穏やかな環境にあります。
なので、果物の木々が植えられ、
キッチンガーデンの役目もしてきました。

 Here are the most sheltered parts in their gardens.
Therefore some fruits trees are planted using here 
as a kitchen garden.
ここから入って行き....
From here, we go down....
ここから出て行きます。
From here, we go out. 

ここでは、私達は反対方向へ別々に歩いて、庭を楽しみました。
Here, we walked in opposite directions and enjoyed the garden.

閉館時間がせまっていたせいか、全く人とは会わず、
ほのぼのとした世界を独り占めできました。

I did not meet other people, it might be close to closing time,
I kept the peaceful world to myself.
ハロー、かわいこちゃん！
Hello! Sweetie!
ハロー、ゴージャス！
Hello! Gorgeous!
おっと、ここでRに会ってしまった！残念！(笑)
Whoops! I met R here! That's too bad! (laugh)
雲が'ぽこぽこ'してかわいい！
The clouds are 'POKO POKO', they are cute!

お城を抜けてショップとカフェへ向かいました。
Through the Castle, we went to a shop and a cafe.
駐車場に残る最後の一台が私達の車
The last car in their car park, that is ours.
走る車の中から
ドーバーとはこれでお別れです。
明日は、シシングハースト•カースル•ガーデン
/ 'Sissinghurst Castle Garden'と
スコットニカッスル ガーデン/ 'Scotney Castle Garden'
に寄って、ウィンブルドン自宅に帰ります。

From Moving Car
This is the last of Dover!
Tomorrow, we would go to 'Sissinghurst Castle Garden' and
'Scotney Castle Garden',  then back to home to Wimbledon.
