由比ヶ浜の海に来ました！
自宅を出る時から、由比ヶ浜まで行くことは決めていました。
Rのバースディウォークの一番の目的は海に出ることでした。

From the time I left home, I had decided to go to Yuigahama Beach.
The main purpose of R's Birthday Walk was to go to the sea.

2) マリンスポーツ / Marine Sports
今日は色々な種類のマリンスポーツを見ることができました。
多くの人が海へ出ている証拠でもあります。
Marine Sports
I was able to see various kinds of marine sports today.
It’s also evidence that many people were out to the seaside.
今夏、江ノ島が2020オリンピックの競技のセーリング競技場およびハーバーになりました。
自宅から小さくですが観戦できる種目がありました。
同時中継の動画と含めて肉眼またはカメラのズームによって、観戦し、楽しみました。
その時のことを海に浮かぶ帆を見て思い出していました。
観戦いついては下記。
This summer, Enoshima Island become harbour for
the 2020 Olympic Sports and the sailing venue.
I could watch some events from home, even though they were so far away.
I enjoyed watching the sailing competition by the naked eye and the camera zooming, as well as the video of the simultaneous broadcast.
I remembered that time after I saw the sails floating on the sea.

| 釣り 釣りがマリンスポーツなのかわかりませんが...。 由比ヶ浜で釣りをしている人を初めて見ました。 Fishing I don't know if fishing is a marine sport ... For the first time I saw a person fishing at Yuigahama.  何が釣れるのですか〜？ What can you catch ~? |

| カモメ 英国の海辺にはたくさんのカモメがいます。 でも鎌倉の海ではあまり見ません。 トンビやカラスの方が多いです。 なので、カモメを見ると珍しいな〜と感じます。 Seagull There are many seagulls on the beaches in Britain. But I don't see many in the sea of Kamakura. There are more black kites and crows. So, when I see seagulls, I feel that they are rare.  今日はトンビを海辺では見ませんでした。 I didn't see black kites at the beach today. |

Red-necked Stint : Tounenn

| トウネン トウネン (当年) という鳥...初めて知りました。 このタイプの鳥は、私にとっては みんな 'チドリ(千鳥)' または 'シギ' です。 Red-necked Stint : Tounenn A bird called Red-necked Stint ... I first found about it. This type of bird is, to me, all 'Plover' or 'Sandpiper'.Japanese name is Tounenn which means this year.  トウネンは渡鳥です。 きっとこの子とは一期一会ですね。 Red-necked Stint is a migratory bird. I'm sure I'll meet this once in a while. |
"シギ科の鳥の中では小型の一種で、くちばしと足も短い。
和名も「今年生まれたもの」という意味で、今年生まれた赤子のごとくからだが小さいことに由来している。"
なるほどね〜...と、面白い名前の由来に納得しました。

| 鎌倉の空を朝から晩までヘリコプターや飛行機が飛んでいます。 私にはこれが自衛隊機なのか米機なのかの判別も 機種の判別もできません。 (海上自衛隊 SH-60J ・ 86？) Helicopter Helicopters and planes fly over Kamakura from morning till night. I can't tell if this is a Self-Defense Forces aircraft or a US aircraft, and I can't tell which model it is. (Maritime Self-Defense Force SH-60J ・ 86?) |

| 稲瀬川 8月末に江ノ電・長谷駅の北側を歩いた時に 稲瀬川 (イナセガワ) を知りました。 美奈能瀬河泊 (ミナノセガワ) が水無瀬川になり、 転じて稲瀬川のなったと言われています。 現在、行政上、稲瀬川は、水路扱いです。 その川がここに流れ出てくるのね〜と思い撮影しました。 Inasegawa River I found out about the Inasegawa River at the end of August. It is said that Minanosegawa River in "Man'yōshū" (Nara Period) became the Minasegawa River and the name changed to the Inasegawa River. "Man'yōshū" is the oldest extant collection of Japanese Waka (poetry in Classical Japanese). Currently, the river is treated as a waterway administratively. | 海藻 海藻が根ごと浜へ打ち寄せられています。 自然の造形は面白いです。 Seaweed Seaweed with its roots washed in from the sea. Natural shaping is interesting. |

| 砂の宇宙船 砂の城というよりも砂の宇宙船だと感じます。 Sand Spaceship I feel that it is a sand spaceship rather than a sand castle. |

6) 浜辺を去る / Leaving Beach
A. 滑川まで / To Nameri River

| 滑川 途中で江ノ電に乗っても良いかと思いましたが 由比ヶ浜の環境が非常に散策に適していましたので 結局、滑川 (ナメリガワ) まで歩いてしまいました。 滑川を越えると材木座海岸です。 私達は、材木座には行かず、ここで由比ヶ浜を離れました。 Nameri River I thought it would be okay to take the Enoden on the way, but the environment at Yuigahama Beach was very suitable for a walk. After all, we walked to the Nameri River. If we crossed the Nameri River, we would reach the Zaimokuza Beach. We didn't go to Zaimokuza Beach and left Yugahama Beach here. |

| "さくら貝の歌 (1929)"・ 歌碑, 2012 作詞：土屋花情 作曲：八洲 秀章（ヤシマ ヒデアキ / 1915 - 1985） 国道134号と若宮大路の交差点 : '滑川交差点' 近くにこの碑はあります。 私は "さくら貝の歌" を知りませんでした。 鎌倉のいくつかのお土産屋さんで、さくら貝を使用した アクセサリーなどを販売していることは知っていました。 "さくら貝の歌" は有名で、鎌倉の浜辺にまつわる歌なのだと この碑によって気が付きました。 "Song of Sakura-gai, 1949" ・Song Monument, 2012 Lyricist : Kajo Tsuchiya (? -?) Composer : Hideaki Yashima (1915 - 1985) Sakura-gai : Nitidotellina Nitidula is a shell, 1-2 cm wide pink bivalve. Sakura-gai means cherry shell in Japanese. This monument is located near the intersection of 'Namerigawa intersection'. I didn't know "Song of Sakura-gai". I knew that some souvenir shops in Kamakura sell accessories, etc... made of Sakura-gai. This monument made me realize that there is a famous song : "Song of Sakura-gai" and somehow relates to the beach in Kamakura.  "さくら貝の歌"は、日本の歌百選の1つ (No.41) です。 "Song of Sakura-gai" (No.41) is one of 'Collection of 100 Japanese Songs'. |

「かまくら今昔抄35 -様々なさくら貝の歌-」: ★より
"八洲は病で失った恋人の面影を抱いて鎌倉に住み、
浜辺で見た光景に託して
「わが恋の如く悲しさやさくら貝かたひらのみのさみしくありて」
（私達は二枚貝のさくら貝のようであったけれども、片方を失い、
一枚残された貝と同様に私は寂しいです: 私の解釈）
の和歌を作った。
これを逗子町役場に勤める友人花情に示して作詞を依頼、曲をつけた。"

"作曲者・八州秀章（ヤシマ/ヒデアキ）の作った短歌をモチーフにして、逗子町役場に勤める友人の土屋花情（ツチヤ/カジョウ）が、
逗子海岸を歩きながら詩の構想を練り、歌詞を書いた。"

"Yashima lived in Kamakura with the memory of his lover who had died of her illness, and overlapped the sight he saw on the beach to compose the Waka :

(We were like bivalve Sakura-gai, but now you're gone and I am like a univalve, and I feel lonely)
Yashima showed his Waka to his friend, Tsuchiya Kajo who worked at Zushi Town Office, and asked Kajo to write the lyrics for the song. "

B. 穏やかな時間 / Calm Time
Rは足首が弱いので、通常なら砂浜を長い間、歩くことができません。
ですが、この日の浜辺は雨の後で固めで、彼の足には優しい状態でした。
海にはマリンスポーツをする人が多くいて、それを面白く眺めました。
バードウォッチングもできました。
日差しも柔らかく、浜辺では良い頃合いの人数の人々がくつろぎ、それぞれに楽しんでいました。
平和な雰囲気が流れ、私達もその中にいて、穏やかな時間を過ごすことができました。
バースディ・ウォークにこのような経験ができて本当によかった！

Calm Time
R has weak ankles, so normally he can't walk long on a beach.
However, the beach on that day was firm after the rain and was gentle on his legs.
There were many people playing marine sports in the sea, and we enjoyed watching them.
Bird watching was also possible.
The sunshine was soft, and on the beach, a good number of people were relaxing and enjoying themselves.
A peaceful atmosphere flowed, and we were able to spend a calm time in it.
I'm really happy to have such an experience on his Birthday Walk!
