9月は、夫Rの誕生日・月です。
誕生日当日は良い天気でしたが、Rが望んだ散策ができませんでした。
彼の希望を叶えるべく、この日、二人で、バースディ・ウォークをしました。
自宅から極楽寺方面へ行き、由比ヶ浜まで出ることは決めていましたが、その後のことは決めていませんでした。
このセクションは、稲村ヶ崎住宅街から峠を越え、極楽寺西ケ谷町へ降りてきたところからです。
前のセクションの散策は下記。
'西ヶ谷' は、極楽寺の西側という意味に由来します。
下記、'鎌倉の地名'より。
"鎌倉市内で「西」の付く地名が複数確認できます。
これは何かの西側であることを表しています。
「西浜」の語源は、和賀江嶋 (ワカエジマ) の西にある浜だから西浜、そして二階堂にある西ヶ谷は永福寺の西側だから、極楽寺に
ある西ヶ谷は極楽寺の西側だからということでしょう。"

West Side of Gokuraku-ji
September is my husband R's Birthday Month.
The weather was fine on the day of his birthday, but I couldn't take the walk that R wanted.
To fulfill his wishes, we had his birthday walk on this day.
We had decided to go to Gokuraku-ji from our house and go to Yuigahama Beach, but we hadn't decided after that.
This section begins when we cross the pass from the Inamuragasaki residential area and went down to Gokuraku-ji Nishi-gaya-machi.
About our walk in the previous section is below.
'Nishi-gaya' comes from meaning the west side of Gokuraku-ji.
(Nishi means West in Japanese)
According to 'Kamakura Place Names' only in Japanese,
(Translated by me)
"You can see multiple place names with 'West' in Kamakura City.
This represents the west side of something.
The etymology of 'Nishihama : Nishi Beach' is probably because the Beach is on the west side of Wakae Island, and Nishi-gaya of Nikaido is on the west side of Eifuku-ji Temple, and Nishigaya of Gokuraku-ji is on the west side of Gokuraku-ji Temple. "

Tsukikage Jizo Hall
I did some research on Tsukikage Jizo-do when I visited in February.
Visiting in February, below.
Abutsu-ni (c. 1222 - 1283), a female poet in the middle of the Kamakura period, lived in Kyoto.
After the death of her husband Fujiwara no Tameie (1198 - 1275), she came to Kamakura in 1227 for her inheritance proceedings.
In Kamakura, she stayed in 'Tsukikagegaya' ( a village between Enoden, Gokurakuji Station and Inamuragasaki Station) for about four years.
"Izayoi Nikki" : "16 Nights Diary" by Abutsu-ni, describes her stay in Kamakura.
"Tsukikage" comes from the fact that
"My place to live is the Tsukikage no Tani : Moon Shadow Valley"
is written in "Izayoi Nikki" : "16 Nights Diary".
The proceedings were won, but Abutsu-ni died without knowing the outcome.
It is said that her Jizo statue in her Abutsu-ni residence was moved to this place.

B. 突然に / Suddenly
'西ヶ谷' は、ひっそりとした印象があります。
鎌倉の谷戸 (ヤト) に共通する隠れ里的な雰囲気です。
二階堂 (覚園寺のある谷戸) に住んでいた時に、少し二階堂は隠れ里のようだと感じていました。
'西ヶ谷' は、二階堂の谷戸よりも中へこもっている印象があります。
多くの家が「私を見ないで！」オーラを放っているのに、
「俺を見ろ！」モードの家が突然、あわられます。
2月の訪問時にも別世界の印象を受け、今回もまた、異世界の雰囲気を感じました。

Suddenly
'Nishigaya' has a quiet impression.
('Nishi-gaya' means West Valley)
It is a hidden village atmosphere common to Yato : Valley in Kamakura.
When I lived in Nikaido (Valley where Kakuon-ji Temple is located), I felt that Nikaido was a little like a hidden village.
I have the impression that 'Nishi-gaya' is more enclosed than Nikaido's Valley.
Many homes give off an aura of "Don't look at me!", But suddenly a house appears with a "Look at me!" mood.
When I visited in February, I got the impression of another world, and this time I also felt the atmosphere of another world.

前庭は一見豪快さを感じさせますが、部分を見ると繊細さがあります。
At first glance, the front graden feels tremendousness, but when I look at the elements, they are delicate.

ここはドーナッツを '売り' にしたカフェでした。
今日、閉店してしまったことを知りました。
私は入ったことはありませんでしたが、Rは2回入店してことがありました。
彼は、カフェのドーナッツは食べていません。
店内には小さなステージがあり、ライヴ演奏も行われたのではないかとRは推測しています。
This was a cafe where donuts were their selling point.
Today, we found that the cafe had folded.
I had never been in, but R had been in the cafe twice.
He hadn't eaten donuts here.
There was a small stage inside, so R speculates that live performances were also held.

4) 極楽寺駅 / Gokuraku-ji Temple Station
A. 駅舎 / Station Building
極楽寺界隈には何度となく訪れていましたし、江ノ電に乗りつつ極楽寺駅を通ったことも何度もあります。
ですが極楽寺駅の駅舎を見るのは久しぶりでした。
ずっと見ていなかったことは自覚していたので、今日は見てみたいと思いました。

I have visited the Gokuraku-ji area many times, and I have passed Gokuraku-ji Station many times while taking the Enoden line.
However, it's been a while since I saw the station building of Gokuraku-ji Station.
I knew I hadn't seen it for a long time, so I wanted to see it today.

| 極楽寺川 駅前を流れる川が、'極楽寺川' という名であることを知りました。 最後は稲村ケ崎で相模湾に注ぎます。 川は、この一角で見ることができますが、 ここから先は暗渠 (アンキョ) になり、 '針磨橋 (ハリスリバシ)' まで姿が見えません。 Gokuraku-ji River I found that the river that flows in front of the station is called "Gokuraku-ji River". Finally, flowing into Sagami Bay at Inamuragasaki. The river can be seen in this corner, but from here it becomes an underdrain : culvert and you cannot see it until 'Harisuri Bridge'. |

C. 極楽寺坂切通を行く
Go Down Gokuraku Pass
極楽寺坂切通 (ゴクラクジザカキリドウシ)は、
日曜製作所は、極楽寺坂切通の入り口にあります。
Gokuraku Pass is one of Kamakura's Seven Entrances and runs from Gokuraku-ji area to Yuigahama Beach.
'Nichiyo Seisakujo' : 'Nichiyo Works' is located by the entrance of Gokuraku Pass.

日曜製作所 神奈川県鎌倉市極楽寺2-1-18 電話：0467-67-0976 '日曜製作所' では、100年以上前に作られた ヴィンテージミシンをメインに縫製や刺繍をしています。 'Nichiyo Seisakujo' : 'Nichiyo Works' 2-1-18 Gokurakuji, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture Phone : 0467-67-0976 At 'Nichiyo Works', they mainly sew and embroider using vintage sewing machines made over 100 years ago.  お店は殆ど開いていず製作所としての機能のようです。 今日も閉まっていました。 以前はここにカフェがありました。 The shop is hardly open and seems to function as a factory. It was also closed today. There used to be a cafe here. |

| 極楽寺坂切通の途中に成就院 (ジョウジュイン) があります。 長らく成就院は、'紫陽花寺' として有名でしたが、 2019年以降、参道は紫陽花から萩 (ハギ) に 植え替えられています。 There is Jojuin Temple in the middle of Gokuraku Pass. Jojuin Temple was famous as 'Hydrangea Temple' for a long time, but since 2019, the approach has been replanted from Hydrangea to Hagi : Japanese Clovers : Lespedeza. |
