1) 紅谷 / Beniya
以前このお店の人気商品は、"あじさい" でした。
私達は2009年に鎌倉に住み始めました。
その頃は、この"あじさい"をお土産として買ったり、人に送ったりしていました。
その後、いつの頃からか、"クルミッ子" が現れ、人気をどんどん得て現在に至ります。
現在、紅谷さんを訪れるお客さんは、"クルミッ子" が目当てで、行列ができほどになりました。
今日、初めて私達は行列にまじって買い物をしました。

Beniya
I went to a shop, Beniya・Hachimangu-mae Main Shop along Wakamiya Ōji Street : 25 with my husband R.
Previously, the popular product of this shop was "Ajisai".
We started living in Kamakura in 2009.
At that time, I bought this "Ajisai" as a souvenir or sent it to someone.
After that, at some point, "Kurumicco" appeared, gaining more and more popularity and reaching the present.
Currently, customers who visit Beniya are looking for "Kurumicco", and there is often a long queue.
Today, for the first time, we joined the queue.

鎌倉では、なにかのイベントがあると、侍姿の人々を見かけます。
今日も数人、若宮大路にいました。
彼らを撮影し、彼らをバックに、Rを撮影しようとしていたら、彼らがRの横に来て一緒に写真を撮らせてくれました。
彼らは、侍姿で"鎌倉殿の13人 大河ドラマ館"展のPRをしていました。

鎌倉文華館 鶴岡ミュージアムで開催されています。
鎌倉文華館 鶴岡ミュージアムは、以前は、神奈川県立近代美術館でしたが、2016年に閉鎖されました。
建物は、ル・コルビュジエ (1887 -1965) に師事した建築家・
坂倉 準三 (サカクラジュンゾウ/ 1901 - 1969) が設計しました。
鎌倉にこんなかっこいい建物があるのかと歓心していたので、
閉鎖された時はとても残念に感じました。
もともとその土地は鶴岡八幡宮のもので、建物は土地の返還時に八幡宮に無償譲渡されました。
2019年鎌倉文華館 鶴岡ミュージアムとして開館しました。
現在、"鎌倉殿の13人 大河ドラマ館"展を開催していることを、侍達から聞きました。
この日は行けませんでしたが、ぜひ開催中に行きたいと思っています。
(我が家にはTVがないので、"鎌倉殿の13人"は見ていませんが...)

Samurai Costume
In Kamakura, when there is an event, we often see people dressed as samurai.
A few people were dressed as samurai on Wakamiya Ōji Street today as well.
I was about to take pictures of them and R with them in his background, and they came to the side of R and let me take a picture with them.
They were dressed as samurai to promote the exhibition "Kamakura-dono no 13 Taiga Drama Hall".
"The 13 Lords of the Shogun" Exhibition,
1st of March, 2022 - 9th of January, 2023
It is held at the Kamakura Bunkakan Tsuruoka Museum.
Kamakura Bunkakan Tsuruoka Museum was formerly known as the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura, but was closed in 2016.
The building was designed by Junzo Sakakura (1901 - 1969), an architect who studied under Le Corbusier (1887 -1965).
I was so happy that there was such a cool building in Kamakura, so
I was very disappointed when it was closed.
The land originally belonged to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and the building was transferred to Hachimangu Shrine free of charge when the land was returned.
In 2019, it opened as Kamakura Bunkakan Tsuruoka Museum.
I heard from the samurai that they are currently holding the "Kamakura-dono no 13 Taiga Drama Mansion" exhibition.
I couldn't go on this day, but I definitely want to go during the event.
(We don't have a TV at home, so we haven't watched the drama, "The 13 Lords of the Shogun"...)

3) ギャラリー招山・雪の下
Gallery Shouzan・Yukinoshita
今年4月に偶然にUMI Gallery 招山 (由比ヶ浜) があった場所が更地になっているのを発見しました。
鎌倉では、突然更地になり、驚かされ、以前なんであったか記憶に残っていないことが多々あります。
招山ギャラリーの場合は、突然更地になり、驚かされはしましたが、しっかりと記憶に残っていました。
その後、オーナーのWさんに偶然出会い、新しいギャラリーを若宮大路に企画中だと聞きました。
新しいギャラリーの案内をいただき、紅谷さんの近くであることを知りました。
今日はギャラリーで何もイベントがないことは知っていましたが、近くの紅谷さんまで来たので、場所の確認とごあいさつを兼ね寄ってみることにしたのです。
ドアは閉じられていたので、窓から中をのぞいてみました。
まだ準備中ということが見て取れました。
またの機会に伺います。

Gallery Shouzan・Yukinoshita
In April of this year, I happened to discover that the place where UMI Gallery Shozan ( in Yuigahama) used to be was vacant.
In Kamakura, there are many things that suddenly become vacant and surprise me, and I don't remember what happened before.
In the case of Shozan Gallery, the site suddenly became vacant, which surprised me, however, left a strong impression on me.
After that, I happened to meet the owner, W San, and heard that she was planning a new gallery in Wakamiya Oji Street.
We received an information card for her new gallery and found that it was near the Beniya Shop.
We knew there was no event at the gallery today, but since we came to Beniya nearby, we decided to stop by to check the location and say hello.
The door was closed, so we looked through the window.
We could see that it was still being prepared.
We will visit there another time.
4) 琵琶橋と弁財天
Biwa Bridge And Benzaiten
A. 琵琶橋 / Biwa Bridge
鎌倉に住み始め、鎌倉散策をしていて、'鎌倉十橋 (カマクラジッキョウ)' を知りました。
古くから重要な交通路にあった橋や、伝説の伝わる十の橋です。
江戸時代に観光用として、'鎌倉十橋' よばれるようになりました。
ですが、多くの川が暗渠 (アンキョ) になり、橋もその役割を果たさず、名前や橋桁, 塚のみが残っています。
'鎌倉十橋' の1つです。
川はほかの橋同様に、ほとんど川は見えず、橋桁が残されているのみです。
1955年頃には擬宝珠 (キボウシ) のついた朱塗りの木橋でした。
その後、1992年に、御影石 (ミカゲイシ) の橋になりました。

| 琵琶橋 一の鳥居から二の鳥居の間 (橋周辺) の道筋に 弁財天の祠があり、それを避けるために道が曲がっていました。 その道は "琵琶小路" と呼ばれていました。 琵琶橋の名は、琵琶小路に由来します。 琵琶小路の名の由来は、 道の形が琵琶の曲線に似ていた説と 弁財天が琵琶を抱いていたから説があります。 Biwa Bridge There used to be Benzaiten Shrine on the road between the first torii gate and the second torii (around this bridge), and the road was curved to avoid it. Benzaiten is a Japanese Buddhist goddess. The road was called "Biwa-koji (Biwa-alley)". The name of Biwa Bridge comes from Biwa-koji. A biwa is an musical instrument. There are two theories about the origin of the name Biwa-koji, one of which is that the shape of the road resembled the curve of a biwa and the other was that Benzaiten is holding a biwa. |
Biwa Bridge
When we started living in Kamakura and walked around Kamakura,
I found about 'Kamakura Ten Bridges'.
There are bridges that have been on important traffic routes since ancient times, and some of the ten bridges have legends.
They came to be called 'Kamakura Ten Bridges' for sightseeing in the Edo period.
However, many rivers have become culverts, only the names, or bridge girders, or name stones remain.
We walked on the Biwa Bridge today, located on Wakamiya Ōji, one of the 'Ten Bridges of Kamakura'.
Like other bridges, the river is almost invisible, and only the bridge girders remain.
Around 1955, it was a vermillion-lacquered wooden bridge with giboshi.
Later, in 1992, it became a granite bridge.

B. 弁財天 / Benzaiten
その際に弁財天は鶴ヶ丘八幡宮にうつされ、それが源氏池にある
旗上弁天社 (ハタアゲベンザイテン) : ⑦ と言われています。
この旗上弁天社には、ほかの伝説(由来)もあります。

Benzaiten
In March 1182, in order to pray for the safe childbirth for
Hōjō Masako (1156 - 1225), the wife of
(1147 - 1199 / the first shogun of the Kamakura shogunate) ,
the Dankazura (approach : 4) was built from Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine to the big gate of Yuigahama.
When Dankazura was built, the crooked path became straight.
At that time, Benzaiten was transferred to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, which is said to be the Hataage Benzaiten Shrine : ⑦ in Genji Pond.
There are other legends (origins) around this Hataage Benzaiten Shrine.
