1) 大桜の後 / After Ozakura
鎌倉広町緑地の外周コースには、'⑫雨乞いの池上'というポイントがあります。
私と夫Rは、3月15日に外周コースを歩いた時に、初めてそこで、
'雨乞いの池' を知りました。
3月15日の外周コースは下記。
Rはあまり、興味がなかったようですが、私は気になって帰宅後、
リサーチしました。
'雨乞い' という響きが伝説めいて、民話めいているので、まあ、ファンタジー好きの私だけが興味を持ったのは、不思議ではありません。
'雨乞いの池' は、霊光寺 (鎌倉市七里ヶ浜1-14-5) の境内にあり、
日蓮 (1222 - 1282) の雨乞い伝説の池でした。
地図で確認すると、徒歩圏内であるようなので、いつか行って見たいと思いました。
そう思った日からいくらもしないうちに、実現できました。
これは珍しいことなのです。
最近、私は、七里ヶ浜住宅街は時々散策していますが、霊光寺方面は初めてでした。
散策をよくするRでさえも初めてでした。
このセクションは、鎌倉山入り口から霊光寺までの風景を載せます。

After Ozakura
There is a point called '⑫ Above Rainmaking Pond' on the outer course of Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi.
We found out about the 'Rainmaking Pond' when we walked the Outer Circumference Course on 15th of March.

I cannot see 'Rainmaking Pond' from the point : ⑫.
R didn't seem to be very interested, but I was interested and researched after returning home.
For me the sound of 'Rainmaking Pond' relates with legend and folktale, so it's no wonder that only I, a fantasy lover, was interested.
'Rainmaking Pond' is located in the precincts of
Reikoji-Temple (1-14-5 Nanarigahama, Kamakura)
and is the legendary rainmaking pond of Nichiren (1222 - 1282) who was a Japanese Buddhist priest and philosopher of the Kamakura period (1185–1333), who developed the teachings of Nichiren Buddhism, a branch school of Mahayana Buddhism.
When I checked it on a map, it seemed to be within walking distance, so I wanted to go and would see it someday.
It was possible within a few days from the day I thought so.
This was unusually ....
Nowadays I sometimes take a walk in the Shichirigahama residential area, but this was our first time in the direction of Reikoji-Temple.
It was the first time even for R, who often explores.

| 鎌倉山入り口前の階段 七里ヶ浜住宅街へ降りて行きます。 Steps in front of the Kamakurayama Entrance We would go down to the Shichirigahama residential area.  ヒメツルゾバ ヒメツルゾバ (姫蔓蕎麦)が擁壁 (ヨウヘキ)に密集しています。 比較的好きな植物ですが、我が家の庭では枯れてしまいました。 Persicaria Capitata : Pinked Smartweed Persicaria Capitata : Pinkhead Smartweed is densely packed on the retaining wall. It's a relatively favourite plant, but it has died in our garden.  金平糖のような花 花が、'金平糖のような形' とよく表現されると知りました。 なるほど〜...。 金平糖は英語で何というか？と思ったらKonpeitōでした。 では、バレエ・ 'くるみ割り人形' の '金平糖の踊り': ★ (動画)は 英語では何というのかしら？と疑問をもちました。 英語では、'Sugar Plum Fairy' でした。 フランス語では、お菓子はドラジェ: Dragéeで、 踊りの役名は、"la Fée-Dragée"（ドラジェの精）です。 Like Flowers of Konpeitō I found out that flowers are often described as 'shaped like Konpeitō'. Indee~d.... Konpeitō is a Japanese sugar candy. in the ballet "The Nutcracker"? I had a question. In English, it is "Dance of Sugar Plum Fairy". | 2回目の階段 鎌倉山から七里ヶ浜住宅街へ Second Set of Steps From Kamakurayama to Shichirigahama residential area  白とピンク 階段脇には、桜とベニトキワマンサク (紅常磐万作) が 同時に花を咲かせていました。 紅白でおめでたい感じ？ White and Deep Pink On the side of the steps, cherry blossoms and Red Loropetalum were in bloom at the same time. Combination of red and white feels felicitous. In Japan, combination of 'Red and White' shows celebration or auspicious event. The combination of Black and White means the opposite, for example at a funeral.  花火のよう！ / Like Fireworks  オオシマザクラ (大島桜) ですよね？ It's Prunus Speciosa : Oshima- zakura, isn't it? |

Shichirigahama Residential Area
七里ヶ浜住宅街は時々歩きますが、霊光寺方面の住宅街は初めてです。
I sometimes walk in the Shichirigahama residential area, but this is our first time in the residential area in the direction of Reikoji-Temple.

| 大きな盆栽 庭のサイズにあった桜 全形も美しく豪華に咲いています。 きっと庭師さんが大きくならないように 世話をされているのでしょう。 Big Bonsai Cherry that fits the size of the garden. The whole shape is beautiful and luxuriously blooming. I'm sure a gardener is taking care of this tree so that it doesn't grow too big. |
 Tanabehiromachi Park When we go to the sea of Shichirigahama beach and climb up on the way back, we sometimes pass by the park here. I remembered that we took a rest here when I had started walking because I had felt my lack of exercise. Compared to that time, I think I've gained a lot of physical strength. Today we went into this park and went down the steps. |

| 日蓮聖人雨乞霊跡道の石碑 雨乞霊跡の石碑かと思いましたら その'道'の石碑でした。 ちょっと笑う！ Stone Monument of Saint Nichiren Rainmaking Pond Remains Road I thought it was a stone monument commemorating the Rainmaking Pond but it was the stone monument of its 'Road'. | 雨乞い橋 ここはちょっと下水の匂いがしました。 川は行合川 (ユキアイガワ) で、地図で見ると ここから始まっています。 ここより上流は暗渠化 (アンキョカ) されています。 あとで、鎌倉市の下水処理場 (七里ガ浜浄化センター） の水が流れ込むと知りました。 下水の匂いはそれだったのだと理解しました。 Rainmaking Bridge I smelled a little sewage here. The river is Yukiaigawa River, which starts from here on the map. Upstream from here is an underdrain. Later, I found out that water from a sewage treatment plant (Shichirigahama Purification Centre) in Kamakura City would flow here.
