1) ギャラリーネスト / Gallery Nest
まだ英国に住んでいるときに、夫Rと鎌倉へ住居の下見にきました。

あれは2008年11月だったでしょうか？

その時に、北鎌倉の"ギャラリーネスト / Gallery Nest" を訪ねましたが、お店がいっぱいで入ることができず、大変残念な思いをしました。

ギャラリーという名前がついていますが、基本はカフェレストランで、お店の壁や棚を用いて、作品を展示しています。

ギャラリーの自慢は、チーズケーキなので、主軸は飲食であることがわかります。

ギャラリーの場所は便利ではなく、その上、北鎌倉の観光スポットとは反対方面にあります。

鎌倉に住み始めてから北鎌倉へ複数回行きましたが、"ギャラリーネスト"を訪ねる機会を持てませんでした。

実はその存在も忘れてしまっていました。

今回の北鎌倉の『ギャラリー花眠』で、"原画カレンダー展" 開催された時、ギャラリーネストが『ギャラリー花眠』の近くにあることに
気がつきました。

なので、『ギャラリー花眠』の後に"ギャラリーネスト"を訪ねてみました。

Gallery Nest
When I was still living in Britain, I visited Kamakura with my husband R to pre-research our house.

Was that November 2008?

At that time, we visited "Gallery Nest" in Kita-Kamakura, but I was very disappointed that we couldn't enter because their cafe was full.

Although it is called a gallery, it is basically a cafe restaurant, where works are exhibited using the walls and shelves of the cafe.

The gallery is proud of its cheesecake, so I can see that the main axis is eating and drinking.

The location of the gallery is not convenient, and moreover, it is in the opposite direction of the tourist attractions in Kita-Kamakura.

We have been to Kita-Kamakura several times since we started living in Kamakura, but we didn't have the opportunity to visit "Gallery Nest".

In fact, I forgot its existence.

When the "Original Calendar Exhibition" was held at "Gallery Kamin" in Kita-Kamakura in 2019, I noticed that Gallery Nest was near "Gallery Kamin".

So, this time we visited "Gallery Nest" after "Gallery Kamin".

2) 展示 / Display
光、風、北鎌倉の借景をコンセプトに設計されました。
設計は、久保 文孝 (? ~)氏。
1995年竣工。
お店は1997年にオープンしています。

It was designed with the concept of light, wind,
and the scenery of Kita-Kamakura.
Designed by Fumitaka Kubo (? ~).
Completed in 1995.
The galley opened in 1997.

コンセプトの通り北鎌倉の景色が見えます。

I can see the view of Kita-Kamakura according to the concept.

ランチ時間をすぎていたせいか、空いていました。

It wasn't crowded, probably because it was past lunch time.

カーブの壁  / Curved Wall



11月末なので、クリスマスの商品ですね。

It's the end of November, so there are Christmas products.




私にはちょっと難しいセンス...
どう解釈して良いのかわかりません。

A little difficult sense for me ...
I don't know how to interpret it.








3) 食事 / Meal
グラスワイン、ビールを食事とともにいただきました。

We had glasses of wine and beer with our meal.



派手さはないけれど、１つ１つ丁寧に
作られている感じがしました。

It's not flashy, but I felt that
it was carefully made one step at a time.


接客も丁寧でした。

The customer service was also polite and careful.




自慢のチーズケーキ
濃厚で美味しい！
お土産のチーズケーキの袋は漆素材でできていて
とても美しかったです。

The souvenir cheesecake bag was made of lacquer material
 and was very beautiful.



チーズケーキが苦手はRはこちらのデザートを選びました。
なんでしょう？

R, who is not good at cheesecake, chose this dessert.

ここの近くに来た際には、例えば、ギャラリー花眠..、寄ってもいいかもしれませんが、ギャラリーネストを目指しては、足を運ばないように思います。


When I come near here, for example to Gallery Kamin .., I may stop by, but I don't think I'll travel for Gallery Nest alone.

1) Kさんの庭 /  K San's Garden
北鎌倉の "ギャラリー花眠"で、原画カレンダー展が開催されている時、"ギャラリー花眠"の庭も拝見することができます。

ギャラリーオーナーのKさんが世話をしている庭です。

広くはありませんが、とても素敵な庭で、原画カレンダー展開催時に、この庭を拝見することも楽しみにしています。

私にとって、Kさんの庭は、1つのファンタジーの世界です。


K San's Garden
When the Original Calendar Exhibition is being held at "Gallery Kamin" in Kita-Kamakura, I can also see the Gallery's Garden.

The Garden is looked after by the gallery owner, K San.

It's not big, but it's a very nice garden, and I'm looking forward to seeing it when the Original Calendar Exhibition is held.

For me, her garden is a fantasy world.




2) 序章 / Prologue
外周はファンタジーの物語の序章のように感じられます。
The perimeter feels like the beginning of a fantasy story.

3) 赤い花 / Red Flower 
キューガーデンや他の大きな庭の縮小版
箱庭的？

A small version of Kew Gardens and other large gardens.
Is it like a miniature landscape garden?



赤い光に導かれて
赤いシクラメンが目を惹きました。
小道にキャンドルが灯されているように植えられていました。
赤い光に導かれて歩くことが楽しかったです。

Guided by Red Lights
The red cyclamen caught my eye.
They were planted as if candles were lit on the path.
It was fun to walk under the guidance of the red lights.
秘密の花園的なミステリアスな感じもします。
It also feels like a secret garden.


















エアコンの室外機に木のカバーが設置され、
庭の雰囲気が保たれています。

Wooden covers are installed on the outdoor unit of
 the air conditioner to maintain the atmosphere of the garden.




植物の構成がとても好きです。
I really like the composition of the plants.












赤い可愛い感じもあれば、大人な感じの組み合わせも
されています。
そんなバランスが、甘くなりすぎず素敵です。

Some are pretty red and some are mature.
Such a balance is wonderful without becoming too sweet.

白い壁が強調されすぎないように工夫されています。
It is devised so that the white wall is not overemphasized.













今回は、主役の原画カレンダー展よりも、Kさんの庭に感動しました。

This time, I was more impressed by K San's garden than the Original Calendar Exhibition.

1) 今回が最後？/ This is the last?
北鎌倉の『ギャラリー花眠』で、"原画カレンダー展" が開催されました。

売上はユニセフに寄付されます。

2017年から私は参加させていただいています。

ギャラリーオーナーのKさんから、諸事情によって、今回が最後の開催になるかもと聞いていました。
(実際、最後になりました)

"Gallery Kamin", Kita-Kamakura Kanagawa Prefecture held an Original Picture Calendar Exhibition.

Sales are donated to UNICEF.

I have been participating since 2017.

I heard from the gallery owner, K San, that this may be the last event due to various reasons.
(Actually, it was the last)

北鎌倉と言えば、あじさい寺の明月院 (メイゲツイン)
ということで、この方は紫陽花を選ばれたのでしょうか？

Speaking of Kita-Kamakura,
many think of Hydrangea Temple or Meigetsu-in Temple.
So, did this person choose hydrangea?




額入りされていない作品も購入可能です。

You can also purchase unframed works.




私はこのガラス窓の空間が好きです。
この窓があることによって、この部屋に開放感がもたらせます。

I like this glass window space.
The presence of this window gives this room a feeling of openness.

2) 自分の作品 / My Works
A. 今回が初めて / This is the First Time
先にも書きましたが、私は、2017年から参加させていただいています。

過去2回は、手持ちの版画作品から選択し、出品しました。

実は、今回初めて新作で、版画作品でなく、和紙とカラーインクを
使用した、新作、ドローイング作品を出品しました。

私にとっても、和紙を使用しての作品は初めてでした。

和紙購入と制作過程をブログにあげています(下記)。
複数の作品候補をKさんに送り、
彼女に選択してもらいました。
Kさんは額入作品にこれを選びました。

I sent multiple work candidates to K San and 
depended her selection.
K San chose this as a framed work.

This is the First Time
As I wrote earlier, I have been participating since 2017.

In the past two times, I have selected and exhibited from the print works I have.
About the 2017 exhibition, below.
About the 2018 exhibition, below.

Actually, for the first time, I exhibited a new work in this Exhibition, my drawing works that use Japanese paper and colour inks, not a print work.
私のイチオシはこれでした。
会場で、あるアーティストさんが
これを購入してくださったそうです。
ありがとうございました。

This was my favourite.
I heard that an artist bought this at the venue.
Thank you very much.


B. 躍動感 / Sense of Dynamism 
和紙とカラーインクのドローイングは、個展作品のための習作でしたが、この原画展に出品させていただきました。

私の場合は、手描きは版画にない躍動感があることを再認識しました。

自分としては習作の気持ちだったので、展覧会への出品はうしろめたい気持ちが伴いました。

が、この躍動感が良いものに思えたので、結果的に出品しても許されると思いました。

展覧会では、私がファンの坪内好子さんと他のアーティストさんに
購入していただきました。

好子さんに、自分の工房に貼ってくださるとおしゃっていただいたこと、とても嬉しいことでしたし、私が勇気づけられました。

ありがとうございました。

Kさんに作品選択を任せましたが、
Kさんは全作品を用紙に貼って出品していました。
おかげで、展覧会後もカレンダーとして
売ることができました。

I depended on K San who selected my works, 
but she put all my works on calendar papers and
 put them up for exhibiting.
Thanks to that, I was able to sell them as calendars
 even after the Exhibition.

Sense of Dynamism 
It was the first time for me to use Washi : Japanese paper.

Washi purchase and making work process were posted on the blog, below.
The drawings on Washi with colour ink were a study for my next exhibition work, but I exhibited them in this Original Calendar Exhibition.

In my case, I realized again that hand-paintings (drawings) have a sense of dynamism that prints do not have.

It was a feeling of studying for me, so I had a guilty feeing about exhibiting them.

However, this dynamic feeling seemed to be good, so I thought that it would be permissible to exhibit them as a result.

I had a fan, Yoshiko Tsubouchi, and other artist(s) who bought my works in the Exhibition.

I was very happy and encouraged to hear from Yoshiko because she said that she would put my work in her studio.

Thank you very much.
1つのイメージで、色々な展開を試みました。
ドローイングは、仕上げるのでなく、
心をオープンにして描くことを心がけます。
まとめ上がって、優等生にならないように。

I tried various developments with one image.
When drawing, I try to open my mind and 
draw, not finish it.
Don't be too well arranged and 
don't become a good student ...



C. 展覧会後 / After Exhibition 
展覧会後には、"ギャラリー412" ("Galerie 412") にも買っていただき、2020年のオフィスに貼ってくださるとのことでした。

これもとてもうれしかったです。

私は"ギャラリー412"で2017年と2019年に個展をしています。

カレンダー展に来られなかった他の複数の方々にも、展覧会後に、ご購入いただきました。

それぞれの方の購入に喜びを感じ、感謝もしました...本当にありがたいことです。

展覧会後の収益は、"国境のなき医師団"に寄付しました。


After Exhibition 
After the exhibition, "Galerie 412"  bought one and would put it on the office in 2020.

I was very happy with this.

I had my exhibitions 2017 and 2019 in "Galerie 412".
About my exhibitions 2017, below.

Several other people who couldn't come to the Calendar Exhibition also purchased one after the Exhibition.

I was delighted and grateful for each person's purchase ... I am really lucky.

I donated the proceeds to "Médecins Sans Frontières".

常々、Kさんのセンスは素敵だな〜と思っています。

過去に、プライベートなお部屋に伺った時もそれは実感しました。

When I visited her private area in the past, I felt her good taste.

2019年11月24日 大きな虹 / Big Rainbow 24th of November 2019


大きな虹
我が家の裏に大きな虹がかかりました。
私の写真ではその全貌を捉えることはできません。
私が見たときは、この虹は最初から最後まで
しっかりと弧を描いていました。

Big Rainbow
There was a big rainbow behind my house.
I can't capture the whole scene in my photographs.
When I saw it, this rainbow was a solid arc from start to finish.
