1) 目的は同じ / Our Purpose is the Same
この日、私と夫Rは、仏行寺 (ブツギョウジ : 鎌倉市笛田3丁目29−22 ) を目指して散策に出ました。
仏行寺はツツジの名所で、今は時期外れです。
ですが、Rがシーズン前に場所確認をしたいという理由で出かけました。
私には違う理由がありました。
元々、仏行寺を知ったのは、ツツジではありませんでした。
仏行寺には、源 頼朝 (1147 -1199 / 在任 : 1192 -1199 ) に仕えた武士、梶原 景季 (カジワラ カゲスエ / 1162 - 1200) の片腕が埋められている塚、源太塚 (ゲンタヅカ) があります。
源太は景季の別名です。
先日、鎌倉山を散歩した時に、景季の妻の信夫 (シノブ) の塚、
'しのぶ塚' を見つけました。
'しのぶ塚' については下記。
元は、しのぶ塚は源太塚と向き合って建っていましたが、その後の
宅地開発や笛田公園の整備などのために、現在の場所にあります。
私は、源太塚を見てみたいと思っていたので、Rとは違う理由で、
仏行寺に出かけました。
このセクションは、仏行寺の往復路に目に止まったもの、または風景を載せています。

Our Purpose is the Same
On this day, I and my husband R went for a walk aiming for Butsugyoji -Temple (3-29-22 Fueda, Kamakura City).
Butsugyoji -Temple is a famous place for azaleas, but it is out of season now.
However, R wanted to confirm the location before the season and we went.
I had a different reason.
Originally, it wasn't because of the azaleas that we knew about Butsugyoji -Temple.
In the Butsugyoji -Temple , there is a mound, Genta-zuka, where it is said one arm of Kajiwara Kagesue (1162-1200), is buried.
Genta is another name for Kagesue.
Kajiwara Kagesue was a samurai who served Minamoto no Yoritomo (1147 -1199 / incumbent : 1192 - 1199) who was the founder and the first shōgun of the Kamakura shogunate of Japan.
The other day, when we took a walk in Kamakurayama, I found the mound of Kagesue's wife, Shinobu : 'Shinobu-zuka'.
About 'Shinobu-zuka', below,
Originally, Shinobu-zuka was built facing Genta-zuka, but it is thought that it was moved in Kamakurayama due to the subsequent development of residential land and the improvement of Fueda Park.
I wanted to see Genta-zuka, so I went to Butsugyoji -Temple for a different reason from Rs'.

2) 苔丸オープン / Kokemaru Open
1月中はお休みていた苔丸 (コケマル) さんが、2月になってオープンしました。
Kokemaru which had been closed in January, has been reopened in February.

「苔丸で、花が売られている！」
と嬉しそうに、驚いていました。
通常の状態でも素敵なお店です。
Flowers and grasses that are not very coloured are usually sold here, but now plants which look like flowers are sold.
R said
"Flowers are sold at Kokemaru!"
he was happy and surprised.
It's a lovely shop even with their normal plants.

どれも自分の庭に欲しくなってしまう....
I want to have everything for our garden....
私は苔丸さんの植物は好きなのですが、Rはここで購入することを好みません。
Rは苔丸さんが好きですし、ここの土も好きです。
ですが、私は苔丸さんの植物は好きなのですが、彼はここで購入することを好みません。
それは英国では苔丸さんで売っているような植物は、雑草のような野草のような存在で、購入対象にはならないからです。
以前、それを苔丸さんのAさんに話したら、彼女は笑いながら
「そうですよ、うちのは野草ですからね」
と言いました。
R likes Kokemaru, and he also likes buying the soil here.
However, although I like Kokemaru's plants, he doesn't like to buy them here.
This is because plants like those sold by Kokemaru are often like wild grasses or like weeds in Britain and so are not usually available for purchase in Britain.
When I talked about it to A san of Kokemaru before, she laughed and said,
"That's right, we sell wild grasses."

夫婦池 (メオトイケ) は、我が家から仏行寺への途中にあります。
昨年、夫婦池にきた時は、鎌倉山の夫婦池公園入り口 : '鎌倉山口' から向かいましたが、今日は、一般道路を使用しました。
入り口から夫婦池までの道のりは、一般道路を使用するよりもずっと魅力的です。
昨年の夫婦池への散策は下記。
速さ的には、一般道路を利用する方が早く夫婦池に到着します。
夫婦池には申し訳ないですが、それなりの面白さはあるものの、夫婦池そのものはあまり魅力的には感じません。

330 Years Ago
Meoto-ike : Married Couples Pond is on the way from our house to Butsugyoji -Temple.
When we came to Meoto-ike last year, we headed from the entrance of Myouto-ike Park in Kamakurayama : "Entrance of Kamakurayama", but today we used a general road.
The way from the Entrance to Meoto-ike is much more attractive than using the general road.
About the walk to Meoto-ike last year, below.
In terms of speed, it is faster to arrive at Meoto-ike by using the general road.
I'm sorry for Meoto-ike : Married Couples Pond, because although it is interesting in its own way, I don't find Meoto-ike itself very attractive.

Meoto-ike : Married Couples Pond was made for keeping irrigation water in Fueda Village about 330 years ago. After that, the residents built a bank in the centre to make two ponds. It is now called "Meoto-ike" ; Married Couples Pond. The large pond is called the upper pond : 'Ue-ike', and the small pond is called the lower pond : 'Shita-ike'. |

| ハシビロガモ 昨年は見なかったカモがいました。 クチバシが大きく、黄色い目の変わっているカモだと思い 帰宅後調べてみましたら、ハシビロガモ (嘴広鴨) でした。 もしかすると、ハシビロガモを見たのは初めてかもしれません。 少なくとも、ハシビロガモと認識したのは これが初めてのことでした。 Northern Shoveler There was a duck I didn't see last year. I thought it was a strange duck with a big beak and yellow eyes. and after I came back home, I looked it up and found it was a Northern Shoveler. Perhaps it is the first time I have seen a Northern Shoveler. ここで、ハシビロガモの群れを見ることができたのは、とても貴重な経験で、ラッキーだったのかもしれません。

It was a very valuable experience to be able to see a flock of Northern Shovelers here, and I may have been lucky.
According to Suntory's website about Northern Shoveler only in Japanese
"They suck water with a shovel-like beak, strain phytoplankton, etc. and eat.
It is widely distributed and breeds in Northern Eurasia and Northern North America, and migrates to the South of Africa, Asia, Southern North America, and Central America in winter.
In Japan, it is a Winter Bird that inhabits lakes, ponds, rivers, and quiet waters, but prefers freshwater areas.
Traveling birds pass in spring and autumn in Hokkaido.
They scream 'Que Que'. "

| 餌くれ〜〜！ 反対側のデッキに人が現れると、さっさと移動してゆきました。 渡り鳥なのに、人馴れしていることに、 勝手に少々ガッカリしました。 そして元々、私達の近くに来たのは餌欲しさだったことに この時、気がつくのです。 アホな私！ Feed Me ~~! When people appeared on the other deck, they quickly moved. I was a little disappointed myself that even though they are migratory birds, they are familiar with people. And at this time, I realized that it was the desire for food that they had originally came near to us. Silly me~~!  結局彼らも餌はやらずじまい... 残念でしたね...とちょっと意地悪く思う私 (苦笑)。 After all, they also didn't feed over there. It was unfortunate ... I felt a little disingenuous (Wry Smile). |

C. 気づき / Awareness

| 鯉 夫婦池には大きな鯉、違うがらの鯉がたくさんいます。 今日は真っ白な鯉を見つけて喜びました。 Carp There are many big carp and different carp in Meoto-ike. I was delighted to find a pure white carp today. |

| ウッドチップの歩道 歩道がアスファルトでなく、ウッドチップで固められていました。 前回来た時には気がつきませんでした。 Pavement of Wood Chips The pavement was hardened with wood chips instead of asphalt. We didn't notice when we came last time. |
笛田 (フエダ) は、鎌倉山のお隣さんです。
昭和60年 (1985年) の住居表示変更で、笛田の一部が鎌倉山に組み込まれたそうです。
笛田1丁目は私達が利用するバスコースにあり、笛田の名前と場所は馴染みがありますが、私は笛田を初めて歩きます。
Rはよく自転車で通過しているようです。
夫婦池は、鎌倉市笛田3丁目、目指す仏行寺も、笛田3丁目です。

| 奇妙な一角 元は山の一部だったような場所です。 両脇ともすでに削られて山はありません。 階段の先にはお墓があり、複数の人が働いていました。 整備しているのか、撤去しているのかわかりません。 Strange Corner It's a place that seems to have been part of a mountain. Fueda
Fueda is a neighbour of Kamakurayama.
It seems that a part of Fueda was incorporated into Kamakurayama due to the change of the residential address in 1985.
Fueda 1-chome is on our bus route we use, and though the name and location of Fueda are familiar, I walked in Fueda for the first time.
R seems to pass by bicycle often.
Meoto-ike is in Fueda 3-chome, Kamakura City, and we were aiming for the Butsugyoji -Temple which is in Fueda 3-chome, too.

| 屋敷神 個人の庭にある神社、屋敷神。 記憶にあるのは桐生市にあった屋敷神です。 そこは隠れキリシタンのような神社で、 外見は神社なのに中にマリア像、その他が設置されていたのです。 あの時以来の屋敷神に思えます。 ここは通常の神社に思えますが...？ Household God Shrine A shrine in a private garden, Household God Shrine : Yashiki-gami. I remember a Household God Shrine in Kiryu city. It was a Kakure Kirichitan : Hidden Christian shrine, and though it looked like a Household God Shrine, there were statues of Mary and others inside. Here seems to be a Household God Shrine from that time. This seems like a normal shrine, but ...? |

| 三嶋神社 Rはここが仏行寺だと主張しましたが、私は反対しました。 「これは鳥居だから神社！」 (残念ながら鳥居の表札が汚れていて読めません） 階段を上らず、直進しました。 いつもながらRは地図で確認しませんが、 ここは日本なので私は当否の判断が効き、強気でいられます。 海外では彼の当てずっぽうな判断で 何度泣かされたかわかりません。 Mishima Shrine R claimed that this was Butsugyoji -Temple, but I objected. "This is a torii gate, so it's a shrine!" (Unfortunately the nameplate of the torii is dirty and cannot be read) We went straight on without going up the steps. As usual, R didn't check it on the map, but since here is in Japan, I can judge whether it is right or wrong and I can be bullish. Overseas, I don't know how many times I was made to cry because of his wrong guesswork judgment.  The main shrine seems to be on the mountainside. |
