1) 笠井先生 / Kasai Sensei
友人のキヨちゃんに
「笠井先生の水彩画は、本当に上手よ。ぜひ見に行って」
と薦められて行きました。
キヨちゃんの個展については下記。
彼女が勤める田中和紙店については下記。
キヨちゃんから先生の水彩画展の場所や開催日を聞きました。
私もキヨちゃんも多摩美術大学出身で、大学に入る前の時期に、二人とも笠井先生に教わったことがありました。
キヨちゃんはおそらく美大入試のために必要な事柄、全般に渡って教わったのだと思います。
私はデッサンを短期間ですが、教わりました。
笠井先生に
「オマエの生活や人生は甘いのかもしれないけれど、デッサンする時くらい厳しい目を持て！」
と衝撃的なことを言われ、甘ちゃんに育っていた私は、ヒャ〜っ！となり、先生に恐れ戦 (オノノ) きました！(笑)
当時、デッサンは、実家から通える、新井リコ先生に基本的にお世話になっており、ゆったりとした時間の中で、デッサンを学んでいました。
なので、私のデッサンは手早くさっさと仕上げる描き方でなく、その上、ぼんやりとした色調の表現でした。
リコ先生は気づかれていたようでしたが、まあ、だんだんに上達すればいいわね..という姿勢で私に接してくださっていたのだと思います。
私は、東京の美大用の予備校の夏期講習に参加して、笠井先生にデッサンを教わり、前述した経験をしたのです。
笠井先生は細身でブラック上下の皮のスーツを着ていて、厳しいことをビシッ！と言う方でした。
私にとっては、恐れつつも、神々しいような、かっこいい先生でした。
キヨちゃんに、細身の笠井先生のことを聞いた時に
「もう、その面影はないわね！」
との返事.....そうか、まあ、誰でも年をとるし、年を取ればふくよかになってゆくよね〜とアートとは全く関係のないことを展覧会にゆく前に思い出していました。
笠井先生の展覧会のDMは会場でいただきました。
残念ながら先生は、会場にいず、お会いすることはできませんでした。

Kasai Sensei
One of my friends, Kiyo Chan recommended me
"Kasai' Sensei's watercolour painting is really good. Please go his exhibition."
and I visited there.
('Sensei' means a teacher in Japanese)

I heard from Kiyo Chan about the location and date of his watercolour painting exhibition.
Both I and Kiyo Chan graduated from Tama Art University, and both of us had been taught by Kasai Sensei before entering the university.
I think Kiyo Chan was probably taught everything necessary for the art school entrance exam.
I learned 'dessin', albeit for a short period of time.
(Japanese 'dessin' translates as drawing, but it is quite different from the western meaning of drawing, so I cannot say 'drawing' here.)
Kasai Sensei said to me
"Your life may be loose, but have a strict eye when you dessin!"
Oh my goodness! I grew up indulgently, so I was shocked.
I trembled with fear of him! (Laugh)
At that time, I was basically taking lessons in Riko Arai Sensei about 'dessin', who I could attend from my parents' house, and I was learning 'dessin' in a relaxed manner.
So, I'm sure my 'dessin' wasn't quick, and on top of that, I could only express it in vague tones.
Riko Sensei seemed to have noticed, but I think she was dealing with it with the attitude that it would be good if I could improve gradually.
I participated in a summer class at an art school in Tokyo, where I was taught 'dessin' by Kasai Sensei and had the experience mentioned above.
Kasai Sensei was slender and wore a black upper and lower leather suit, and he could say criticisms clearly.
For me, he was a cool teacher, who I was afraid of, but divine.
When I asked Kiyo Chan about the slender Kasai Sensei,
she said,
"I don't have that impression anymore!"
Well, everyone gets older, and as they get older, they become less slender....I remembered before going to the exhibition venue that it had nothing to do with art.
I got the invitation card for Kasai Sensei's exhibition in the venue.
Unfortunately, Kasai Sensei was not there and I could not meet him.
2) 作品 / Works
テクニックにはひれ伏すばかり....
決めるところとぼかすところの兼ね合いが絶妙です。
美しい！
空気の透明感が清々しいです。
夫Rも一緒に行きましたが、彼も非常に感動しました。
笠井先生の新刊 : ★もRが率先して買いました。
和紙にカラーインクのドローイングを始めたところでしたので、私の作品にとっても参考になると思います。
この展覧会は、この新刊記念のためだったのだと会場で知りました。

Works
As Kiyo Chan said, the watercolors were great.
I just bow down to his technique ...
The balance between what is sharp and what to blur is exquisite.
It's beautiful!
The transparency of the air is refreshing.
My husband R visited with me, and he was very impressed.
R also took the initiative in buying the new book by Kasai Kazuo.
I have just started drawing colour ink on Washi : Japanese paper, so
I think it will be useful for my work as well.
In the venue I found out that this exhibition was for the purpose of commemorating this new book.
3) 丸善 / MARUZEN
鎌倉の家が辺鄙な場所にあるので、ネットで本を購入するようになり、あまり本屋へゆくことがなくなりました。
この日、せっかく丸善に行ったので、カレンダー、クリスマスカード、文房具、そして本も手にとって見ました。
いくつか買い物もし、楽しみました。
鎌倉の若い友人達のクリスマスプレゼントに本を選び購入。
自分のために本を買うことも嬉しいことですが、誰かのことを思いながら本を選ぶ、探すことも、悩みはしますが嬉しいことです。
この日は、文化的に満足できることがたくさんありました。

そうそう、夜の東京駅も久しぶり、都会のイルミネーションもクリスマス向きで素敵でした。

MARUZEN
Since Kamakura's house is in a remote place, I started to buy books online and I don't go to bookshops much.
Since we went to Maruzen on that day, we also picked up calendars, Christmas cards, stationery, and books.
MARUZEN-YUSHODO : MARUZEN is a major Japanese bookstore, publisher, and specialized trading company.
I did some shopping and enjoyed it.
I chose and bought books as a Christmas present for my young friends in Kamakura.
I'm happy to buy a book for myself, but I'm also happy to search and choose books for friends while thinking about them.
There was a lot of cultural satisfaction on this day, below.

Oh yeah, it's been a while since Tokyo station at night, and the illuminations in the city were nice for Christmas.
