1) ボディアム駅へ / To Bodiam Station 

下の地図の上部赤丸●が 'テンタダン町駅 / Tenterden Town Station'で、

下部赤丸●がボディアム駅 / Bodiam Station になります。

At the top ● of the map ( below) is Tenterden Town Station, 

at the bottom ● is Bodiam Station.

往復チケット
Round Trip Ticket 

一等車は一人１ポンド別料金を車内で払います。
記念に、一等車に乗っていこうと決め、
４人席用の一等客室席すわっていると
子供づれの５人が出発間際に入ってきてぎゅうぎゅう詰めになり、
ちょっと残念に思いました。
車掌さんがまわってきましたが、一等車料金はとりませんでした。
こういう点は、日本よりも融通がきくな〜と思います。

First Class seat needs 1 pound extra on the train.
We decided on the seats for our memory and 
sat down in two of the four seats in our compartment.
However, just before leaving, 5 people including children came in
and there became packed, so I felt disappointed.
The Guard came but he did not take money for First Class.
I think this is a flexible in Britain, more than in Japan.

客車 / Carriages

出発~! / Departure~!

駅員さんだけでなく、通過待ちをしている人や車の中の人さえも

手を振ってくれます。

人々の保存鉄道への意識の高さがうかがわれます。

Not only station men wave their hands, 

but also other people who are waiting for the train to pass, 

even some who are in their car.

I felt the high consciousness of people about heritage railways.

まだ子牛ですね。
あどけなさを感じます。

They are still calves, aren't they?
I feel they are still innocent. 

車窓からボディアム城が見えます。
I look at Bodian Castle from the train window.

2) 帰り / Return 

ボディアム城へは、ボディアム駅から徒歩で10~15分ほどで着きます。

(私達はいつもふらりふらり歩くのでこの時間ですが、一目散にお城を目指してタカタカと歩く人なら5分ほどで到着してしまうかもしれません）

私達はボディアム城にはあまり長居をせず、戻ってきました。

It takes 10~15 minutes on foot from the station to Bodiam Castle.

(We usually walk aimlessly, so our time is like this, although if you walk quickly, you could get to the castle in 5 minutes.)

We didn't stay in the castle for a long time and came back to Bodiam Station. 

ボディアム駅に向かう蒸気機関車
この機関車が引く客車で戻りました。

The steam locomotive is going to Bodiam Station.
This pulled our carriage and we returned.

帰りの車両
両側の窓が大きくとられていて、景色が楽しめます。

Carriage for Our Return 
The windows on both side are big,
so we could enjoy the views.

3) 景色 / Views 

ロルベンダン / Rolvenden 駅
'ケント＆イーストサセックス鉄道'が開通された1900年、
この駅が一番北の駅でした。

Rolvenden Station 
When 'Kent & East Sussex Railway' was first opened in 1900, 
this station was the furthest north.

もうすぐ終点の'テンタダン町 駅'
Very Soon the last stop,  'Tenterden Town Station'
