| アイデン村の看板 ここは観光地ではありませんが、 他の観光地に近いので、車があればかなり便利かと思います。 'DOMESDAY VILLAGE' というのはデュームズデイ•ブック (Domesday Book)の時代(11世紀)から 配置などが殆ど変化していない村のことを言います。 Iden Village Sign Here is not a sightseeing village, although a few tourist areas are close by, so if we use a car, here could be convenient. 本来、ドゥームズデイ（Doomsday）とは、キリスト教における「最後の審判」のことで、全ての人々の行いを明らかにし罪を決定することから、12世紀ごろからこの台帳をドゥームズデイ・ブックと呼ぶようになった。

2) B&B : Iden Coach House
B&B: 'Iden Coach House / アイデン•コーチ•ハウス'は、庭と機関車がテーマである、この旅の重要ポイントでした。
B&B: 'Iden Coach House is the most important point in this trip for our theme 'Gardens and Trains'.
A. ミニチュア蒸気機関車
Miniature Steam Railway
このB&Bに3泊しました。
ここは庭にミニチュアの蒸気機関車のレールが敷かれています。
その実演が、見られるかもと期待しましたが、その実演は、ぼくまれに行われるので、ミニチュアが庭を走る姿を見るのはとてもむずかしいようです。
それでもレールも庭も手入れされていて、想像力をかき立てられます。
最終日に、お願いして、ミニチュアの車庫や、リビングルームに展示してある蒸気機関車を見させていただきました。
レールを中心に撮影した写真や車庫や彼らの書斎に展示されているミニチュアの蒸気機関車の写真を私のミスで無くしてしまい、とても残念です。

Miniature Steam Railway
We stayed in this B&B for three nights.
The B&B's garden was made for a miniature steam railway.
I thought that we might see the miniature steam engine run in the garden, however, they only run it occasionally, so it is very difficult that we watch it.
Anyway, the garden and the rails are tidied up which let my imagination play.
On our last day, we asked them to show the depot for the miniature railway and trains, then finally they did.
I took mainly photographs of the rails in the garden, and the miniature steam engine in their living-room and the depot, however, I lost the data of the photographs and that is too bad.
B. 部屋 / Room

ここには、たった二部屋のみで、
私達の部屋からは、直接庭へ出られるようになっています。 This B&B only has two rooms, we can go into the garden directly from our room. |
部屋は清潔でした。
ですが、驚いた事に、ここは宿泊している３日間に一度も部屋の掃除をしません。
ごみ箱のゴミでさえもかたづけられず、ごみ箱が一杯になったら、自分でごみ箱を持ち出して捨てることを頼まなくてはなりません。
タオル交換も、自分で持ち出して直接彼らに頼まなくてはなりません。
要するに私達が宿泊中は、一度も部屋に入らないのです。
'私達のプライバシーを邪魔をしない'というのが、ここのポリシーだそうです。
アイルランドと英国で、かなりのB&Bに宿泊しましたが、ここのようなシステムは初めてでした。
ここは１泊であると、気持ちよくすごせるのではないかと思います。
Room
The room was clean.
However, we were surprised that they never clean it while we stayed for three days.
Even a dustbin was not emptied, when it was full we must take it and ask them.
And also we must take towels and ask them for new ones.
In a word, they never come in the rooms while their customers stay.
They say they wouldn't disturb customers' privacy which is their policy.
We have had experiences in many B&B in Ireland and Britain, here was the first time like this.
I think people stay here comfortably if they stay only one night.
3) 庭 / Garden

| お花も草木もきれいでしたが、ここでは レール中心に撮影したので、写真があまりありません。 にもかかわらず、レール中心の写真データを なくしてしまった....悲しい...そしてがっかり..... ア〜〜ン！ There were beautiful flowers and plants, although I concentrated on photographing the railways, so I do not have enough photographs of flowers and plants. However, I lost most of the railway photographs. I am so sad and disappointed in myself.. Oh Dear~~~!  |

4) 隣の敷地 / Next Door
隣の敷地にはヤギ、羊、馬、ポニーが居ます。
There are goats, sheep, horses and ponies next door.
5) 朝食 / Breakfast
このB＆Bには、魚料理がありません。
例えば、多くのB&Bで扱っている'スモークサーモンとオムレツ'もない....。
だからといって、悪い訳でもまずいわけでもありません。
ですが、食いしん坊の私にはちょっとものたりないかな〜と思いました。
そして、また、ここは連泊者をあまり考慮していないので、朝食もこのようなのかもしれません。

Breakfast
This B&B does not offer any fish.
For example, 'Smoked Salmon and Omelets' which many B&Bs offer.
This B&B is like that, although their cooking is not bad.
However, I am a glutton, so I am not quite happy with their breakfast.
I felt especially disappointed here because this was after we had stayed in Camelot House B&B in Worthing which has wonderfully cooked special breakfasts (see below about Camelot House).

And also here does not care for customers who stay more than two nights, so their breakfast is like that.
