マラムターム、マラムデール、マラムムアー、リットンデールの景色を見る事が主な目的でした。

The main purpose was looking at views of Malham Tarn, Malham dale, Malham moor and Litton dale.
Malham (Malham dale, Malham moor)
→ アーンクリフ(リットンデール) / Arncliffe (Litton dale)
→ リットン (リットンデール) / Litton (Litton dale)
→ ホルトンギル / Halton Gill
→ スレインフォース(リブルデール) / Srainforthe (Ribbles dale)
→ セトル / Settle
→ マラム/ Malham
1) マラムターム(湖)/ Malham Tarn

| マラムタームは湖です。 マラム村から歩いてゆくコースもありますが、本日は車、グランパのお世話になります。 とはいっても湖周辺はナショナルトラストエリアなので 近くの駐車場から歩かなくてはなりません。 湖についたころから雨まじりの風。 お天気なら湖の周辺を歩いてもいいかなと思っていましたが すごすごと車へもどる、軟弱者です。  Malham Tarm
Here is one of the walks from Malham,
although we moved by Grandpa : R's car, today.
However, there is National Trust land,
so we must walk from the closest car park.
I thought we might walk around Malham Tarn, if it is fine.
Although, it was starting to rain with a strong wind,
when we got to the Tarn.
Then we returned to the car park, we are weak.

駐車場には牛の親子が来訪。
母親は子牛を人(私達)から守るように歩いています。
She was protecting her calf from humans (us). |
Charls Kingsley wrote "Water Babies" after he was impressed by Malham Tarn.
I think he felt that waters purify and water is an origin of life here.
However, it was quite hard that I could understand this by my experiences on the day.
Maybe I could understand, if I walked around here on a sunny day.

3) 自転車のり(サイクリスト) / Cyclist
マラムデール、マラムムアー、リットンデール周辺では、自転車競技が開催されていました。
この日、私達は何度かこの競技者達に会います。
この日に私が選んだルートがどうやら彼らのコースと時々重なっていたようでした。
彼らはのコースはかなり長いことを知りました。
すごい！
競技者は番号ふだをつけています。
女性も男性も参加、時々かなりお年に見える方も参加していて驚きました。
一人で走っている人もいれば、ツーリングのように見えるグループ
参加の人もいました。
どのサイクリストも 強風の吹く雨の中を飛ばしていて、軟弱者の私には勇ましく見えました。

There was a cycling time race around Malham dale, Malham moor and Litton dale.
We saw them a few times today.
I chose our route for driving which was the same as some parts of their route.
I could see their total route was very long.
Great!
The cyclists each had their own number.
They were male and female. Sometimes I was surprised by quite old cyclists.
Each cyclist were going fast in the rain and strong wind, so they were brave for me who is weak.

彼らの一時休憩場のような場所がマラムタームにありました。

4) マラムムアー / Malham Moor
マラムムアー(マラム荒地)はマラムデールの中にあります。
谷と荒地が混在している地域だと私は理解しています。

マラムタームを離れたあとは、北西に位置する
アーンクリフ(リットンデール) / Arncliffeに向かいます。
車の道は一本道、霧の中をひたすら進みます。

5) アーンクリフ村/ Arncliffe
アーンクリフ村はリットンデールの中にあります。
上の写真に見えた村がアーンクリフでした。

パブに入り、美味しいお茶を飲みました。

それでちょっと怖じ気づいてパブのカウンターの写真や
お客さんの撮影ができませんでした。

| 中とは全く違う世界がパブの庭にはありました。 そこはとても手入れの行き届いた素敵なイングリッシュガーデンで、英国がガーデン王国であることを認識させられました。 庭の手入れが行き届いているのはパブだけでなく、 他の家々の庭もこぎれいでした。  Their garden had a completely different atmosphere. They look after the English Garden, it showed me that Britain is a Garden Kingdom. It was not only their garden, but also other gardens in the Village.  |
3) リットンデール/ Litton dale
〜 リブルデール/ Ribbles dale
雨のリットン、ホットンギルの景色をながめつつとおりぬけました。この周辺で多くのサイクリスト出会いました。
I had views of landscape and villages : Litton, Halton Gill in the rain. There were a few cyclists still taking part in the race.

4) セトル / Settle

ここがセトルだと思います。
残念ながら蒸気機関車は見ませんでした。
