1) 厳美渓 / Genbikei Gorge

A. 侵食による風景 / Landscape Due to Erosion

厳美渓マップ

厳美渓 (ゲンビケイ) は、岩手県一関市にある
磐井川にある長さ2kmの渓谷です。
磐井川は、栗駒山が水源。
"厳美渓は栗駒山の噴火によって堆積したデイサイト質凝灰岩が、
磐井川の水流によって浸食され、形成されたもの"

1927年に国の名勝及び天然記念物に指定されました。

Genbikei Gorge Map 
Genbikei Gorge is a 2km long ravine on the Iwai River
in Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture.
The water source of the Iwai River is Mount. Kurikoma.
According to Wiki about Genbikei Gorge, 
"Geologically, the ravine was formed
by erosion of a thick seam of dacite tuff deposited
by eruptions of Mount Kurikoma.
 It has been designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty 
and Natural Monument since 1927."

The surrounding area is a relatively flat terrain 
with rice fields and fields.

侵食は、奇岩、滝、深淵と様々な表情を作りました。

特に川底の甌穴 (オウケツ) が顕著だと言われています。

strange rocks, waterfalls, and abyss.

It is said that the 'Giant's Kettle' on the bottom 

of the river are particularly prominent.

足場が悪く歩きにくいです。
私もRも足に問題を抱えているので、
気をつけて歩きました。

There are bad footings and it is difficult to walk.
Both I and R have problems with our legs,
so we took care when walking.

ここが観光地として人気であることが理解できます。
面白い風景でした。
そんなに広くない場所に、様々な地形が凝縮されています。

I can see that this is a popular tourist destination.
It was an interesting landscape.
Various terrains are condensed in a place that is not so large.

紅葉は見られませんでしたが、心は満足しました。

I couldn't see the autumn colours,
but my heart was satisfied.

B. 郭公だんご / Flying Dango

この場所に来るまで、空飛ぶ、'郭公だんご(カッコウダンゴ)' のことを知りませんでした。

TVの番組か、CMで放映されていたようで、多くの方は知っている

ようでした。

ちなみに、我が家にはTVはありません。

 Flying Dango
He is preparing now.
According to Wiki about Dango,
"Dango is a Japanese dumpling and 
sweet made from mochiko (rice flour),
related to mochi."

Until I came to this place, I didn't know about the flying 'Kakkoo Dango'.

It seems that it was broadcast on a TV program or a commercial, and many people seemed to know it.

By the way, there is no TV in our house.

カゴで団子が運ばれ、
厳美渓を渡ってきます。

Dango is carried in a basket and
across the Genbikei Gorge.

私は注文しませんでしたが、どなたかが注文したので、
'空飛ぶ団子' を見ることができました。
ありがとうございました。

I didn't order, but someone ordered it, 
so I could see the 'Flying Dango'.

"厳美渓では「空飛ぶだんご」として知られる郭公だんごが名物となっている。

これは渓谷の休憩所に設けられてあり、ワイヤーロープで繋いだ籠に代金を入れ合図の板を叩くと、対岸の店が注文を聞いて、だんごと茶を提供してくれるというものである。"

According to Japanese Wiki,

"In Genbikei, 'Kakkoo Dango', known as 
"Flying Dango" is a specialty. 
This is set up in a rest area in the gorge 
where you put coins in a basket connected
 with a wire rope and hit the signal board, 
and the cafe on the opposite bank will hear 
your request and serve Dango and tea."

 2) 鳴子峡 / Naruko Gorge 

鳴子峡は、宮城県大崎市 (旧鳴子町) に

位置する峡谷です。

宮城県の名勝に指定されています。

ここが今回の旅行の最後の観光地でした。

ここでの最も美しい紅葉シーズンよりは

早い時期に感じましたが

地形と、人工物の橋、トンネルなどの

組み合わせが良いバランスで、

素敵な景色を生み出していました。

Naruko Gorge : Naruko-kyou is a gorge located 

in Osaki City (formerly Naruko Town),

Miyagi Prefecture .

It is designated as a Scenic Spot in Miyagi prefecture.

This was the last tourist destination of this trip.

I felt it was too early here

for the most beautiful autumn colours season,

however, the combination of terrain and man-made things ; 

bridges, tunnels, etc. had good balance 

and the views were lovely.

撮影中に谷の中を歩いている人を見ました。

遊歩道が整備しているらしいです。

ちょっと羨ましかった！

鳴子峡の案内のマップに、遊歩道が描かれていました。

I saw people walking in the gorge during my photography.

It seems that there are safe promenades down in the Gorge.

I was a little jealous!

JR東日本の陸羽東線 (リクウトウセン) が
右下に見えます。

I can see the Rikuu East Line of JR East
on the lower right.

このトンネルが開通したおかげで、
1917年に陸羽東線が全通開業しました。

Thanks to the opening of this tunnel,
the Rikuuto Line was fully opened in 1917.

川は、大谷川 (オオヤガワ)
The river is Ooyagawa River.

鳴子峡は、大谷川によって
侵食され、形成されました。

Naruko Gorge was formed
by the erosion of the Ooyagawa River.

3) 東北旅行の感想 / Review of Tōhoku Trip

旅行の初日に最も北へゆき、徐々に南下し、最後は仙台駅から新幹線で東京へ戻りました。

紅葉は、より北の方が見頃でした。

非常に美しかったのは、松川渓谷でした。

悔やまれるのは、そこで撮影した写真を自分のミスで失ってしまったこと...ウッウッウ....。

こう言うことは、初めてではなく、過去に何度かしています。

その失敗を忘れた頃に、またしてしまいます....(涙)。

2019年4月の個展後に、 海外旅行もし、未整理の多くの写真を作ってしまったので、それを助けるにはよかったのでしょう....(負け惜しみのような....)。

奥入瀬渓流 (オイラセケイリュウ)が歩いていて気持ちがよかったですが、個人旅行でゆっくりと歩きたいと思いました。

今回の旅行は、クラブツーリズムのツアーを利用しました。

日本国内のツアー旅行はストレスが少なく、添乗員さんもいて、個人の海外旅行とは違い、リラックスできます。

もちろん、個人旅行の方が良い点もありますが、ストレス面からすると、断然、国内旅行が良いです。

今回の添乗員の方が、また、素晴らしくよかったです。

添乗員は、'アタリ・ハズレ' があり、運まかせ...今回は、非常に良い運に恵まれました。

彼女のおかげで、旅行も大変、楽しかったです。

ご一緒した方々も、良い方ばかりで、これもラッキーなことでした。

本当に良い旅行になりました。

ありがとうございました。

そうそう、この旅行は、Rのお誕生日旅行でした。

鳴子峡 / Naruko Gorge

Review of Tōhoku Trip

On the first day of the trip, we went the furthest north, then gradually south, and finally returned to Tokyo by Shinkansen from Sendai station.

The autumn colours were brightest in the north.

It was the Matsukawa Gorge that was very beautiful.

What I regret is that I lost the photographs I took there due to my mistake ... Uuuuu ....

It was not first time for this mistake, I had done the same several times in the past.

Having forgotten, I often make a mistake again .... (tears).

After my exhibition in April,  2019, I traveled abroad and made a lot of unorganized photographs, so I think it was good to help them .... (like a poor loser ...).

It was lovely to walk in the Oirase Gorge, but I wanted to take a leisurely walk on a private trip.

For this trip, we took the tour by 'Club Tourism'.

Tour trips in Japan are less stressful, and there are tour conductors, so I can relax unlike individual overseas trips.

Of course, individual travel has better points, but from a stress perspective, domestic travel in Japan is definitely better for me.

The tour conductor this time was wonderful.

Tour operators have 'Hit or Miss' conductors and we depend on our luck ... This time, I was blessed with very good luck.

Thanks to her, the trip was also very enjoyable.

The people I was with were all good people, and I was lucky.

It was a really good trip.

Thank you very much.

Oh yes! this trip was R's Birthday Trip.
