1) 八甲田ロープウェイ / Hakkoda Ropeway
2日目、最初の観光は、八甲田ロープウェイでした。

The first sightseeing on the second day was the Hakkoda Ropeway.

八甲田ロープウェー
八甲田ロープウェイは
十和田八幡平国立公園 (トワダハチマンダイラコクリツコウエン)
の北部に位置しています。
ロープウェーは1968年に開業しました。
2003年には、スイスのＣＷＡ社製の
新ゴンドラへの更新がされました。

Hakkoda Ropeway 

Hakkoda Ropeway is located in the northern part of 

 Towada-Hachimantai National Park : ★.

The Ropeway was established in 1968.

The gondola, made by CWA in Switzerland, was renewed in 2003.

往復チケット 
チケットやパンフレットにあるほどの
紅葉ではありませんでしたが、
紅葉を感じる景色にはなっていました。

 Round Trip Tickets
It wasn't as bright as the tickets or pamphlets,
but the view gave us the feel of autumn leaves.

安全ではあるものの、精神的にちょっと不安がある乗り物に乗るのは、非日常的な刺激があって良いものです。

これは、平和な国に生きる人に共通するように思います。

ロープウェーに乗っている間に景色が変化し、広がって行く時、自分の心が広がって行く心地よさを感じます。

ロープウェー内が混んでいなければ、この気持ちを継続できますが、なかなあそうは行きません....。

このロープウェーの特徴と相反する希望を抱きます....。

100人乗れる！
と言うのが特徴のようです。
確かにロープウェイに100人というのは、珍しいですよね？
ですが、紅葉シーズンは個人客もツアー客もここに集中し、
100人に入ることができない場合もあるので、
ガイドさんからは、帰り時間の

Can carry 100 people!
It seems to be a feature.
Indeed, it is rare, 100 people on a ropeway, isn't it?

When I get on a means of traveling with a little anxiety, even though it is safe, it gives me an unusual stimulus, it is good. 

I think this is common to those who live in a peaceful country.

As the scenery changes and expands while riding the ropeway, I feel the comfort of expanding my mind.

If the ropeway isn't crowded, I can continue this feeling, but it's hard to do so ....

I have hope that contradicts the characteristics of this ropeway ....

2) 山頂駅 / Summit Park Station
山頂駅に到着し、'八甲田山' はどこかと案内板を見ると、なんと、

'八甲田山' と言う名の山は、存在しませんでした。

おそらく、日本人なら知っている、210人中199人の死者を出した、悲劇の"八甲田雪中行軍遭難事件" 

(ハッコウダセッチュウコウグンソウナンジケン / 1902)。

あの '八甲田山'は、この周辺の複数の火山の総称でした。

名前の由来: ★は、兜に似た山頂を持つ8つの山からの

「8つの鎧 : 甲 (ヨロイ) / 甲冑 (カッチュウ)」で八甲、

湿原は、神の田圃(カミノタノ) と称されていたので、そこから田が付けられたと言うのがあります。

名前の由来の通りに、たくさんの湿原があります→★

他にも、八竜にまつわる話があります。

八甲田山は日本百名山の一つです。

日本ではそれほど高い山々ではないけれど、

この周辺は世界でも有数の豪雪地帯なのだそうです。

 'Hakkōda Mountains' is one of 100 Famous Japanese Mountains.

Although they are not so high in Japan,

 the surrounding area is said to be 

one of the most heavy snowfall areas in the world.

陸上自衛隊青森駐屯地に駐屯する第5普通科連隊は、(遭難死した青森歩兵5連隊の隊員慰霊も兼ねて) 毎年厳冬期に八甲田山系で、冬季雪中戦技演習を行なっているそうです。

八甲田の美しい景色を見ても、ロープウェイからの紅葉を楽しんでも、時々あの遭難での犠牲者のことが思い出されてしまいます。

遭難事件から100年以上たちますが、それは私には防ぎようがありません。

この地に駐屯する自衛隊が厳冬期に犠牲者の慰霊をかねて訓練する気持ちが少しばかりはわかる気がします。

どうか、新たな犠牲者が出ぬようにと願います。

Summit Park Station

When I arrived at the summit station and looked at the information board 

to see where 'Mt. Hakkoda' was, there was no mountain called 'Mt. Hakkoda'.

Perhaps Japanese know the tragic, "Hakkōda Mountains incident " (1902) which killed 199 out of 210 people in Army training.

That 'Mt. Hakkoda' is a general term for multiple volcanoes around this area.

Origin of the name is according to Wiki about Name of 'Hakkōda Mountains' 

 that "the first part of the name Hakkō (八甲) 'eight armor' from eight of the mountains having peaks that resemble helmets. 

The second part of the name da (田) 'field' refers to the mountains' flat plateaus that are referred to as 神の田圃 (kami no tano) 'field of god'."

There is another story, about  8 dragons : 八竜.

八甲田山 / Hakkōda Mountains

The JGSDF 5th Infantry Regiment stationed at Japan Ground Self-Defense Force ( Rikujō Jieitai) : JGSDF, Aomori Garrison, is said to be conducting winter cold-weather warfare exercises in the Hakkoda Mountains every year in the midwinter  (also serves as a memorial service for the members of Army's 8th Division's 5th Infantry Regiment  who died in distress) 

Whether I looked at the beautiful scenery of Hakkoda or enjoy the autumn colours from the ropeway, sometimes I remembered the victims who died in the distress.

It's been over 100 years since the distress, and I can't prevent it.

I feel that I can understand the feeling that the Self-Defense Forces stationed in this area train as a memorial for the victims in the midwinter.

Please do not let there be any new victims.

山頂公園駅を基点とした

自然遊歩道（八甲田ゴードライン）があり、

30 - 60分の散策が可能です。

ですが、私達は、ガイドさんから遊歩道へは

進まないように言われたので、山頂駅付近を散策し、

山麓駅まで戻りました。

まあ、確かに、ガイドさんが心配するように

ロープウェイは混んでいて

ギリギリの時間に列についたのでは、

100人の中に入れないようでした。

なので、ツアーの場合は仕方がないのだと思います。

There is a 'Hakkoda Gourd Line' starting 

from the mountaintop park station, 

a 30-60 minute walk is possible.

However, we were told by our guide 

not to proceed to the Line, 

so we took a walk near the summit station 

and returned to the Sanroku Station.

Well, surely, as the guide worried, the ropeway was so crowded 

that we couldn't get into the 100 people

 if we lined up at the last minute.

So I think it can't be helped in the case of a tour.

いつものように、何枚もの写真を撮りましたが、揺れるバスの中で、間違って、写真を失ってしまいました....ショック！

自分の写真が使用できるのは、 奥入瀬渓流の散策からです。

As usual, I took many photographs, but later I accidentally lost them in the swaying bus .... shock!

I can use my own photographs from a walk in the Oirase Gorge.

3) 奥入瀬渓流 / Oirase Gorge
奥入瀬渓流 (オイラセケイリュウ) : ★ / ★は、十和田湖 (トワダコ) 東岸の
子ノ口 (ネノクチ) から北東に、焼山 (ヤケヤマ) までの約14kmにわたる奥入瀬川の渓流です。

この渓流は、十和田八幡平国立公園内にあり、1952年に、特別名勝及び天然記念物に指定されています。

十和田湖は、青森県と秋田県の境界にあり、奥入瀬川は十和田湖から流れ出る唯一の川で、奥入瀬渓流が終わる焼山で、東に向きを変え、やがては青森県を流れ太平洋に注ぎます。

Oirase Gorge

Oirase Gorge  : ★ is a mountain torrent of the Oirase River that stretches for about 14km from Nenokuchi on the eastern shore of Lake Towada to Mt. Yakeyama in Aomori Prefecture.

This mountain stream is located in Towada-Hachimantai National Park and was designated as a Special Scenic Spot and a Natural Monument in 1952.

Lake Towada is located on the border between Aomori and Akita Prefectures, and the Oirase River is the only river that flows out of Lake Towada, through Aomori Prefecture, eventually into the Pacific Ocean.

それぞれの景勝地の名前も、実際の雰囲気も

The name of each scenic spot and 
the actual atmosphere are reminiscent of 
a fantasy world.

5) 散策 / Walk

ツアーでは、奥入瀬渓流14kmの行程は、歩きません。
奥入瀬川に沿って、遊歩道も車道も整備されているので、
十和田湖近くの地点でバスをおり、
十和田湖に向かって遊歩道を歩きました。

We did not walk the 14km Oirase Gorge in the tour.
The Promenade and the road are well maintained 
 along the Oirase River, 
so we got off our coach near Lake Towada 
and walked along the Promenade toward the Lake.

せせらぎ....
Murmuring.....

流れが穏やです。
The flow is gentle.

流れが空気を澱ませない....
The air does not stagnate by the flow ....

清々しい空気 / Bracing Air

森林浴効果
紅葉がなくても素敵な場所です。
紅葉のシーズンはドラマティックな景色も多くなるでしょう。
雪景色もきっと綺麗に違いないと確信します!

Forest Bath Effect
Here is a lovely place even without the autumn colours.
The scenery is more dramatic during the fall-foliage season.
I'm sure the snow scene must also be beautiful!

流れを見ていると渓谷にいることを忘れてしまいますが
上を見上げれば、そこには山があり、
ここは渓谷なのだと知らされます。

When I look at the flow,
I forget that I am in the valley,
but when I look up, there is a mountain there,
and it tells me here is a valley.

時々は空を見る！
Sometimes I look at the sky!

島のような岩 / Island-like Rock

気持ちの良い風景 / Pleasant View

私の写真には、人があまり写っていませんが、私はツアーの中にいるのです。

前後の人に気を使うし、集合時間は気になるし、その度に、この空間を楽しむ気持ちが消えます。

こいういう道は、個人旅行がやっぱりいいな〜と思います。

There aren't many people in my photographs, but I was on a tour.

I pay attention to the people around me, I was worried about the meeting time, and so every time I lose my feelings which I felt of enjoying this space.

I knew that individual travel is good for this kind of path.

'心が洗われる'という表現が実感できます。

I can feel the expression
"the spirit is washed" (phrase in Japanese ).

五両の滝 ?

いくつもの滝が点在し、
この道は "瀑布街道"とも呼ばれています。

Goryo-no-taki Falls? 
There are many waterfalls scattered around,
and this path is also called the "Waterfall Way".

結構な数の滝は、車道側の山にあり、渓流を見て歩いていると気がつかないまま通り過ぎてしまいます。

気がついて撮影しても焦点がなく、写真は残せませんでした。

There are quite a few waterfalls on the mountain at the side of the road, and if you walk while only looking at the mountain stream, you will pass by without noticing them.

Even though I noticed them, I couldn't keep my photographs because they were out of focus.

遊歩道が結構景色に馴染んでいます。
The promenade blends quite well with the scenery.

銚子大滝
銚子大滝は、十和田湖への魚の遡上 (ソジョウ) を阻止してきた
魚止めの滝です。
十和田湖からの水量は、
子ノ口制水門の放流量で調節されています。

The height of the Choshi Otaki Falls has prevented fish
 from running up to Lake Towada
The amount of water from Lake Towada is regulated 
by the discharge from the Nenokuchi Lock :
Nenokuchi Water Gate.

奥入瀬渓流は、とても素敵で、大好きです。

ここは、また行けるなら、個人旅行で、もう少し長く歩いてみたいです。

 

The Oirase Gorge is very lovely and I love it.

If I can go here again, I would like to go on a private trip and walk a little longer.
