私と夫Rは、英国からオランダへ行きました。

この日は、オランダ入りして4日め。

Rが体調を崩し、彼は午前中いっぱい寝ていました。

私達が滞在している部屋は環境も居心地も悪いので、彼自身が外出したがり、午後になって出かけました。

滞在先については下記。

あまり明確な予定を持たず、Rの体調を見つつ、ユトレヒト市を散策することにしました。

Rはカフェが大好きでなので、私はカフェリ・サーチは必ずしています。

まずは人混みを避け、中心地から離れたカフェまで、のんびりと歩きました。

中心地から離れたと言ってもユトレヒト市全体からしたら、中心地なのかもしれません。

カフェのサイトは、オランダ語のみなので、私はネットの翻訳機能を利用し、

"このウェブサイトでは、メニュー、私たちに関する詳細、アレルギーや特別な食事制限への対処方法、グループで提供できるものを見つけることができます"

ということを理解しました。

食に問題があるRに適しています！

From the Afternoon

I and my husband R went to the Netherlands from Britain.

This is the fourth day in Holland.

R was sick and he slept all morning.

The room we stayed in was a bad environment and uncomfortable, so he himself wanted to go out and did go out in the afternoon.

About our accommodation below.

With no clear plans, we decided to take a walk in Utrecht while watching R's condition.

R loves cafes, so I always do cafe research.

First of all, we walked slowly to a cafe away from the centere, avoiding crowds.

Even if I say it is far from the centre, it may be the centre if you look at the whole of Utrecht city.

Since the cafe site is only in Dutch, I used the online translation function,

"On this website you will find the menu, more information about us, how we deal with allergies and special dietary requirements and what we can offer groups."

I understood that.

It is suitable for R who has a problem with food.

オランダ語なので何を書いてあるのかわかりません。

でも飲食系であることはわかります。

I do not know what is written in Dutch.

But I understand that it is a kind of food and drink .

こちらは何もわかりません。
あとで英語のメニューを見て、
今日の"スペシャルメニュー"だとわかりました。

I don't know anything this.

Later I looked at the menu in English,

I knew it was today's "special menu".

オランダ語と英語

オランダ語と英語のメニューが用意されています。
外の黒板(上の写真)も屋内の黒板(下の写真)もオランダ語なので、
英語メニューから選びました。
いちいち聞くパワーがありません。

メニューが描かれているかと思いましたが、の海外の地名でした。

オランダ語なので、正確にはわかりませんがなんとなく推測できます。

様々な国の食文化を取り入れているのでしょう。

I thought that it was the menu, but it was overseas place names.

It's Dutch, so I don't know exactly but I can guess it.

It probably incorporates food cultures of various countries

ピット・リバース博物館を思い出すディスプレイ

Display reminiscent of the Pitt Rivers Museum

ピット・リバース博物館 / Pitt Rivers Museum は、英国のオックスフォード大学の考古学及び人類学のコレクションを展示しています。

博物館はオックスフォード大学自然史博物館の東にあり、その建物からのみアクセスできます。

私は、英国留学時の "Contextual Studies" (私の場合、アートに関する学問) の修学旅行中にピット・リバース博物館を訪れました。
("Contextual Studies"の正しい日本語訳が私にはわかりません）

多種多様なものが集められ、その雰囲気が独特でした。

当初は約20万点のコレクションでしたが、現在では50万点に増えているそうで、展示は定期的に交換されているそうです。(Wikiより)

"集められたもの達が、自分たちの家に帰りたがっている" という印象を持ったことを今でも覚えています。

このカフェでディスプレイされているもの達からはそんな印象を持ちませんでしたが、いくらか不思議な独特な印象を持ったのは確かです。

また、食事やお茶なども少し変わっていました。

雰囲気も出される飲食にも個性が感じられました。

エキゾチックなイメージを思い起こさせ、
あまりおしゃれな感じがしないので(すみません)、
ピット・リバース博物館を連想させるのかもしれません。

It reminds me of an exotic image and doesn't feel very stylish (sorry),

so it may be reminiscent of the Pitt Rivers Museum.

The Pitt Rivers Museum displays an archaeological and anthropological collections in University of Oxford in Britain.

The Museum is east of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, and is accessible only from its building.

I visited the Pitt Rivers Museum on a university trip to "Contextual Studies" when studying in Britain.

A wide variety of things were collected and the atmosphere was unique.

Initially it was a collection of about 200,000, but now it has increased to 500,000, and the displays are changed periodically.  (from Wiki).

I still remember my impression that "the collections want to return to their homes."

I didn't have the impression from what is displayed in this cafe, but I did have a somewhat mysterious and unique impression.

2階席 / First Floor 

半地下もあります。
There is also a semi basement.

1階、2階、半地下と3層になっていますが壁で仕切られていません。

一体感がありながら、ある程度のプライベートな空間も感じられます。

There are three levels, the ground floor, the first floor, and the semi-basement, but they are not separated by walls.

There is a sense of unity, but you(I) can also feel some private space.

運河がありますが、ここからですと水の部分は見えません。

カフェラテ、可愛いチョコレート付き

このチョレートは、"Tony’s Chocolonley / トニーズ チョコロンリー"で

オランダで人気があるようでした。

スーパーマーケットでも空港のお土産売り場にもありました。

This chocolate is "Tony’s Chocolonley"

It seemed popular in the Netherlands.

There was a supermarket and a souvenir counter selling them at the airport.

ランチの"Lebanese kibben"を選びました。

'bulgur' (ブルグル) がよくわからなかったけれど試してみることにしました。

I chose "Lebanese kibben" for lunch.

I didn't know 'bulgur' but decided to give it a try.

変わった味...と思いつつ全部食べました(笑)。

オランダでは通常の味なのか、このカフェオリジナルな味なのか
今もってわかりません。

もう一度食べたいとは思いません(苦笑）。

I ate everything while thinking that it was a strange taste (Laugh).

I don't even know if it's a normal taste in the Netherlands or

or the original taste of this cafe.

I do not want to eat again (Wry Smile).

Rは、ハムとチーズのトースとを選びました。
(ケチャップつき)

R chose ham and cheese toast with ketchup.

お茶のメニュー
エスニック的な感じがします。

Tea Menu

I feel ethnic.

Rはカフェらても飲みましたが、お茶も注文しました。

アールグレイを選びました。

茶漉しに葉が入れられ、お湯がマグに入れられて出てきて、

ちょっとびっくりしました。

R drank the cafe latte  but also ordered tea.

I chose Earl Gray.

Leaves were put in tea strainer, hot water was put in mug

and came out and I was slightly surprised.

茶漉しをマグに入れて飲みます。

これにもトニーチョコレート("Tony ’s Chocolonley")が付いてます。

Put the tea strainer in a mug and drink.

This also comes with Tony chocolate("Tony ’s Chocolonley").

素敵！
お隣の席の女性のグループがこれを注文していました。
また、食事でなくスィーツを注文していました。
もしかしたら、このカフェはスィーツの方が得意なかもしれません。

Also, they ordered sweets, not meals.
Maybe this cafe is better at sweets.

味を求めてこのカフェへ行くというよりも、ある程度の静けさと、半エキゾチックな雰囲気と体に良い物を摂取するという意識で行くということでしょうか？

そして、スィーツがお客さんの主な目的なのかもしれません。

Rather than going to this cafe for a taste, would you rather go for a degree of tranquility, a semi-exotic atmosphere and the consciousness of eating something good for your body?

And sweets may be the customers main purpose.
