㉚2017年8月23日- アイルランド旅行 - 1) 国立植物園 - 温室 / Ireland Trip - National Botanic Gardens -Conservatory, Ireland, 23rd of August, 2017

22日は、ダブリン郊外 (South Dublin) のルカン / Lucan 村にある B&B、'モートロッジ / Moat Lodge' に泊まりました。

アイルランド最終日、最後の観光地は、国立植物園 / National Botanic Gardensを選びました。

アイルランドに行ったのに、なにも植物園に行かなくても良いのではないかという考えもできます、もっとアイルランドにしかないもの、アイルランドらしいものを訪ねるべきではないかと....

しかし、フェリー乗車時間の制約があり、ここにしました。

ここからなら、交通渋滞があり、一方通行が多いダブリン中央を通らなくとも、
ダブリン港に行けます。

駐車場探しも必要ありませんし、ダブリン港も近い。

そして、入場料も駐車場代も無料です!

結果、国立植物園は素晴らしく、ほのぼの、のびのびでき、かつ、興味ある植物に、彫刻に、環境に刺激も受けました。

ものすごい数の写真も撮ってしまいました(笑)。

In Front of Botanic Gardens Main Gate

We stayed in the B&B : 'Moat Lodge' in Lucan village on the edge of Dublin on 22^nd .

Last day in Ireland, the last sightseeing spot we chose was the National Botanic Gardens.

I had my thought that once I visited Ireland, I would not go to the Botanical Gardens...I should look at something more Irish.

However, due to restrictions on ferry boarding time, I made it here.

I expected that from here, we could easily get to Dublin port, because the route did not have to go through Dublin centre where always there is a traffic jam, and there are many one way streets.

We did not have to look for a carpark and Dublin port is also nearby.

And no charge for entrance or carpark!

As a result, the National Botanical Gardens were wonderful, warm hearted, refreshing, capable and I was stimulated by interesting plants, sculptures and the environment.

I also took a huge number photographs! (Laugh).

Curvilinear Range, 1849

1990年代に大規模な修復が行われています。
スタッフはここの温室を誇りに思っているようでした。
これを設計した、リチャード・ターナー / Richard Turner (1798 - 1881) は、
アイルランドの鋳鉄と温室製作のパイオニアです。

彼の仕事は、ここの他に

キュー・ガーデン（デシマス・バートン / Decimus Burton 共同)の
パーム・ハウス、ロンドンのリージェント・パークのウィンター・ガーデン、

ベルファスト・ボタニック・ガーデンのパーム・ハウスがあります。

It was fully restored in the 1990s.
The staff seemed to be proud of their Conservatories.
Design by Richard Turner (1798 – 1881), he was an Irish iron founder

and manufacturer of glasshouses

His works included the Palm House at Kew Gardens (with Decimus Burton),

the glasshouse in the Winter Gardens at Regent's Park in London,

and the Palm House at Belfast Botanic Gardens.
