'へぎそば' の"越後屋"さんでランチをとった後に、"3331 Arts Chiyoda"に行きました。
未だに練成中学校のネームプレートが門柱にはめ込まれていました。
After our lunch in the Hegi Soba restaurant, Echigoya, we visited "3331 Arts Chiyoda".
There is still a nameplate of Rensei junior high school in a gate post.
地下1階から3階まで、10以上のギャラリーやワークショップスペース、
カフェ、ショップなどが入っています。
屋上は、運動場として使用されていましたが、
現在はオーガニック菜園となり、一坪づつレンタルされています。
In the 3-storey building with one basement,
there
are over 10 galleries, workshop spaces, a
cafe, shops.
The
rooftop used to be a playground,

様々なアイディアやコンセプトがあります。
アイディアやコンセプトが100%実現されているかはわかりませんが、
計画や書類 上だけでなく、具体化され、実行されていることが
すごいな〜と思います。
大都会である、東京ならではの施設だと思います。
Entrance
There
are many ideas and concepts and they make them.
I
do not know if they achieve 100% of the ideas and the concepts,
although
I feel it is great that they do not just make plans or papers
but
they also implement them.
I think this kind of facility can only exist in a big city like Tokyo. |

「ライフ・イズ・クリエイティヴ展」は
テーマは、
ものをつくる人生にリタイアなんてない
神戸の主催は、デザイン＆クリエイティブセンター神戸
:
神戸で、高齢者の新たなステージを見つけだすための活動を
計画し、具体化しました。
その実績を元に、日本中に広めてゆくために、
東京での展覧会開催になりました。 
"Exhibition
- Life is Creative" was held in Kobe, 2015.
Their
theme is
'The
creating life does not have retirement.'
in
Kobe, was the organizing body.
In
Kobe, they planned and achieved for the new stage of life
for elderly people.
They
would spread ideas about the activities
based
on their results in Kobe around Japan,
so they had this Exhibition in Tokyo. |

"KII+O"と"3331 Arts Chiyoda" は、似たコンセプトだと思います。
神戸は地方都市の中で、文化面で、非常に都会だと思います。
I think concepts of "KII+O" and "3331 Arts Chiyoda" are similar.
In my view, Kobe is particularly urban about culture among provincial cities.

私は人生で１度だけ会社勤めをしたことがあり、その会社はF社で、神戸にあります。
そこで、とてもとてもお世話になった、海ちゃん先輩が、東京の展覧会に作品を出品していると、メールをくれました。
彼女は、神戸に住んでいます。
私が行かずしてどうする！
I
only worked for one company in my life and the F company
is in Kobe.
My senior there was Umi Chan,
who looked after me very well and she sent me an e-mail that her work
would be displayed in the Exhibition in Tokyo.
She lives in Kobe.
If I do not go, what would I do?

 海ちゃんの作品 「大人の洋裁教室」(2016年10月~11月) に海ちゃんが参加して作った 作品が展示されていました。 「大人の洋裁教室」は、着物からおしゃれ着のワンピースをつくり、 ファッションショーに出演するという、KII+O 主催の取り組みでした。  Umi Chan's Work She joined 'Sewing Class for Adults' (Oct.~ Nov. 2016) and made her work which was displayed in the Exhibition. The idea for activities of the Class by KII+O was that participants make stylish dresses from Kimonos and they take part in a fashion show. |

この方を高齢者とはとても言えません。
会社勤めをしていた時も今も、
すごいな〜と思わせてくれる先輩です。
ちなみに彼女は、イタリア語が堪能です。

多摩美術大学プロダクツ・デザイン専攻の学生作品
Works by Product Design students of Tama Art University

Life is Creative 展では、多摩美術大学プロダクツ・デザイン専攻の学生作品の展示もされていました。
後輩といっても、専攻は違いますけれど、なんとなく、親しみはあります。
私達が訪ねた日は、京都工芸繊維大学の教授、インクルーシブ・デザイン(ユニバーサル・デザインに近い)専門 、ジュリア・カセム (Julia Cassim) 氏 (下のコピー文参照) を招き、彼女による、その講評会があり、私達もオブザーバーとして参加しました。
私はこの日に、初めてインクルーシブ・デザインという言葉と意味を知りました。
しっかり理解できたかは自信がありませんが、以前よりはましでしょう。
実は、ジュリアは、プライベートで、2014年の友人の結婚式で会っていました
(下記)。
彼女がどんな仕事をしているのかというのも、この日の訪問理由の一つではありました。
"「LIFE IS CREATIVE展」では、多摩美術大学プロダクトデザイン専攻第2スタジオの学生による「認知症とその周辺に向けたデザイン」「高齢化社会へ向けたデザイン」をテーマとした展示を行います。
プロジェクトの一環として、京都工芸繊維大学KYOTO Design Lab特任教授で、インクルーシブデザインに関するワークショップを多数企画・運営するジュリア・カセム氏をゲストクリティークに招き、学生のデザイン提案とプレゼンテーションの講評をいただきます。後半には、イギリスにおける高齢者とインクルーシブデザイン事例紹介、意見交換を通して高齢化社会という共通の課題解決につながる新たなアプローチを参加者と共に探ります。"

これが一番印象に残りました。
他のものが具体的にどんなことだったのか記憶があまりありません。

ジュリアもこのプロジェクトを褒めていたように思います。

This is a report and display about makeup for ladies with dementia .This left the biggest impression on me. My memory does not have others so much, sorry.... I think Julia complemented this project. |
In Exhibition - Life is Creative, there were works by students whose department is Product Design.
Even though I said 'my junior', their department is different from mine, but somehow
I feel familiarity.
When we visited the Exhibition, there was a review meeting by a guest critic, Julia Cassim who a professor in Kyoto Institute of Technology, Design Lab and we joined the audience.

It was the first time that I knew of the phrase 'Inclusive Design' and its meaning on the day.
I am not sure I understand about it specifically, though better than before.
Actually, in my private life, we had met Julia when we jointed our friend's wedding ceremony in 2014, below.

I came here on the day, one of the reasons was that I was interested in her, what she does.
According to KII+O, below (I translate myself)
"In 'Exhibition - the LIFE IS CREATIVE', works by the students of Tama Art University, product design of department, their themes are
「Design for dementia and its surrounding」and「Design for an aging society」.
As part of the project, Julia Cassim, a professor of Kyoto Institute of Technology, a specialist about Inclusive Design, reviews the student's work and their presentations.
After her reviews, she introduces the aged's conditions and about Inclusive Design in Britain with their examples.
Their plan is that she and participants seek new approaches for problem-solving common to all through exchange of ideas about the aged society."

久しぶりに、アカデミックな体験ができましたし、内容もおもしろかったので、リフレッシュしました。
参加して良かったです。
インクルーシブ・デザインの世界に触れたことは、良い刺激になりました。
私の感触としては、ジュリアは講評会の内容について、不満に感じていたと思います。
学生の肩を持つ訳ではありませんが、日本のアート大学生は、小論文も書かないし、卒業論文も書かないし、プレゼンテーションもほとんどしないので、慣れていなので、仕方ないように思います。
少なくとも私が学生の時は! [大昔です＜笑＞]
なので、私が英国の大学生になったときは、言葉の壁以外に、小論文や卒業論文、プレゼンテーションでかなり苦労しました。
論文のための書き方や、考えのまとめ方、自己主張の仕方などなどが、全くわかりませんでしたから....。(今もですけれど...)
ジュリアはインクルーシブ・デザインの専門家ですから、彼らの発表内容が非常に未熟に感じられ、指導者に対しても不満を抱いたようです。
デザインの美しさに対しても不満だったようです。
まあ、何もかも、彼女からすると、未熟であったのでしょう。
それでも、ジュリアはきちんと良い点を見つけ出して褒めていたので、コテンパンに批判したわけではありませんでした。
寧ろ、学生側は彼女の意図する不満を感じられたかどうかわからないくらいでしたが、さすがに絶賛されているとは彼らも感じなかったでしょう。
やる気をなくさせないという講評は、さすがに教育者であるな〜と思いました。

I
hadn't had academic experience for a long time and I was interested
in the contents, so I could be refreshed.
I
am pleased I joined there.
In
the meeting, I came in touch with 'Inclusive Design', that has
stimulated me, it was good.
My impression was that Julia was not satisfied with the contents of the meeting.
I
do not defend the students, but note that Japanese art university students do not write essays or a graduation thesis either, and mostly do not make presentations, so they are not familiar with talking, so they cannot
help it.
At
least, it was like that when I was an art student in Japan.[It was long time
ago]
Therefore
I had considerable trouble with short essays, thesis and a presentation, quite part from the language barrier when I became a
British university student.
Because I did not know anything about how to write, how to organize my thoughts and
how to be self-assertive. (Still now...?)
In
my view, Julia is expert on
'Inclusive Design', so she felt their presentations were
unskilled as well as she had dissatisfaction with their tutor.
Moreover,
she seemed to be displeased about the lack of beauty in the designs.
Well,
for her, everything was raw.
However,
she found good points, and gave them complements, so she did
not criticize completely.
The students did not seem to understand her
discontentment, although
I think they felt she did not speak very highly of their works.

Her
criticism did not dampen their motivations, so I thought indeed, she is an educationist.
