| ブランバー村 / Bramber Villageの駐車場の花 ブランバー城/ Bramber Castle へ行くためにここに来ましたが、 もっとお城に近い駐車場があるのを知り、 ここは使用しませんでした。 Flowers in a car park of Bramber Village We came here for Bramber Castle, although we found another car park which is closer to the castle, so we did not use here. |

| 'お城' といっても、これです！ ナショナルトラストもイングリッシュヘリテッジも 保存管理していますが、私にはどのような違いがあるのか よくわかりません。 ですが、この状態になっても保存しようとする心意気がすごいし、 英国の古いものを大切にする文化も感じました。 Even though they say a Castle, this is it! National Trust / National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty and English Heritage manage it, although I do not know how they divided their work. However, anyway, they have kept it even though its condition is like this which I am impressed by their will and I feel British care about old things very much. |

| このお城の形式は、モット•アンド•ベリー / Motte-and-bailey と呼ばれています。 Wikipedia ：★より下記
"モットは小山で、ベーリーは外壁を意味し、
平地や丘陵地域の周辺の土を掘りだして、堀(空堀が多かった)を形成し、
その土で小山と岡を盛り上げた。
小山は粘土で固めてその頂上に木造または石造の塔(天守)を作り、
岡を木造の屏で囲んで、貯蔵所、住居などの城の施設を作るものである。
モット・アンド・ベーリー型の城は手早く建築できるのが特徴で、
8日間で作り上げたという記録も有る。
また、フランスにおいては王権が弱かったため、
各地の弱小領主が競って自領に建築した。
現在でもイギリスでは、モットの跡である小山を各所で見ることができる。"
