More than Usual

I buy more plants than usual so that my husband R, who likes to go outside, will not get tired of the days of staying home.
6th of February

New and Old
All replanting in pots is done by R.

I hope you grow up safely!

Poinsettia
Pink for Christmas two years ago,
green for Christmas last year,
and now it's like this.

Steadily
At first I was worried, it was growing slowly.
Other plants planted at the same time grew,
had many flowers and died.
This plant is growing steadily.
It has been blooming one after another
at a slow pace since it first bloomed.

Coriander Grown from Seeds
The coriander on the right is grown from the first sowing.
It is useful for carpaccio and toppings.
This grew well, so I planted seeds for the second time.
The smaller one on the left is the second one.

Before Sowing
Coriander seeds need to be prepared before sowing.
Break each seed or make a cut.
Soak in water overnight.
After planting, cover it with paper and so on,
until it sprouts to prevent sunlight.
It's quite troublesome.
And even if I sow a lot of seeds, only one or two grow,
and I feel that it is inefficient.

Oxalis
After planting from the pot, it will bloom when we forget it.

Afternoon Light
The other photographs on 6th of February, above
were taken in the morning.
After that, when we went out for a walk and came back,
Maple Leaf Geranium was very beautiful in the afternoon light.

Ground-planted Christmas Rose

Sprout
This is another Christmas rose.
This is the first time I have taken a photograph of
a sprout (is it called?).

Veronica Umbrosa ‘Oxford Blue’: Georgia Blue
R has finally changed
 from pots to ground.
Originally they were plants that I bought for ground planting,
but last year he made them potted plants.
As the name suggests, many blue flowers have bloomed.
I think there were one or two white young plants.
I have the impression that the white ones were weaker.
I hope that both will survive by planting in the ground.

B. 心の浄化 / Purification of Mind

9th of February
Sagami Bay

I am photographing while watching the beautiful dawn and dusk.

I keep trying, knowing that the real beauty cannot be captured by my ability.

The dusk of the day was purple.

I went to the neighbourhood (within a 1 minute walk) to photograph with R.

Sagami Bay and Shichirigahama Residential Area
I can see parts of the Izu Islands,
including

The pink colour is different depending on the soil ingredients.
In new soil, this is blooming much deeper pink than before.

'Mini Roses'?
Two or three bloom together,
and the petals are layered on top of each other
to make it gorgeous.
A few years ago, it was given to us by a friend.
I'm even more happy that the flowers bloom without dying.

     Because Weather is Lovely...
21st of February

The weather was lovely, so we worked in the garden.
I think it may help solve the lack of exercise to some extent.
Most of the garden work is done by R,
but when the seedlings are planted in pots, I also do it.

Arrival of Spring

Arrival of Spring

I was beginning to feel spring due to changes
 in the climate and plants.
However, when I see the cherry blossoms,
I definitely feel that it is spring.
On this day, I found the buds of our bird cherry swelling.

 Dramatic Dawn
25th of February
I am moved by many dawns.
This day was a more dramatic dawn than usual.

It would be nicer without cables.
Curiously, the cables look hazy to the naked eye.

Fruit Salad
My husband R loves fruits and often makes fruit salads.
Since the world of COVID-19 calamity,
he has come to make them frequently.
More fun at home.
Thank you as always.
30th of January

  Apple is Main Character
Initially, photographs were taken as a record of fruit salads.
However, R sometimes creates themes,
which have pictorial elements,
and changing the angle changes impressions.
So, I changed to taking multiple photographs for each fruit salad.

Sections of 'R Fruit Salad' in January and 'Stay Home in January' had been posted on my blog.

About 'R Fruit Salad', below.
About  'Stay Home in January', below.

Then, on 30th of January, R made this fruit salad.

I could feel his enthusiasm (?) in the Salad.

He made this in January, but I put this in 'February Stay Home in February' section.

Enjoy Change
I ordered 'Fukuraijun Kokomirin' online and started using.
I tried soaking the frozen fruit in Kokomirin for a short time
and then it didn't look delicious anymore.
However, we enjoyed a different taste and ate it deliciously.

Sunset
28th of February
On many days, I am impressed by the scenery of the setting sun,
the sunrise, and the dawn.
If I am busy, I will tend not to notice the beautiful scenery.
In the days of stay at home,
I have time to look at things that are familiar to me.

Cake

Cake
My cooking and cakes are daily works, so I rarely photograph them.

My cakes are for sweet-tooth R.

I will photograph when I feel like it.

Apple Cake
The recipe doesn't include bananas, but R loves bananas,
so I use them as a decoration on most apple cakes.

OSBORNE Plate
(Wedgwood plates,'Osborne' is the name of the series)
On this day, I used an Osborne  plate.
I have an image of Osborne for sweets.
So I don't use this plate much for savoury food.
Until now, I didn't know the origin of the name Osborne,
I found out this time.
It is said to be derived from the name of Osborne House in Britain.

Osborne House
Design : Prince Albert
Osborne House is located on the Isle of Wight.
It was built between 1845 and 1851 for
Queen Victoria (1819 - 1901 / reign : 1837 - 1901) and
 Prince Albert (1819 - 1861).
It is currently managed by English Heritage.

Osborne plates are not used very much, but they are my favourite plates.

They were discontinued in 2006, and we cannot buy new ones anymore.

Take a Walk : Hase ~ Kamakurayama , 27th of February 2021

Contents
Hakujitudo Hall
Bergfeld Cafe
Kamakurayama

Hakujitudo Hall

According to Kamakura City Website about Hakujitudo Hall,
only in Japanese (Translated by me),
"This building was built in 1945 as
a Kamakura-bori studio and house.
The exterior of the building is a heavy design that
combines a castle style and a temple style.
These traditional designs are united with a modern element
of a show window with walls of stone pitching
to create a unique atmosphere.
Hakujitudo Hall is a valuable reminder that represents
the prewar Kamakura-bori studio and house,
and also is important as a building with few modifications
after its construction. "
Kamakura-bori : ★ is carved lacquer from Kamakura.
Hakujitudo Hall
After leaving Shugenji - Temple, a cafe, 'kabura coffee', we headed to 'Bergfeld Cafe' Hase.
About Shugenji - Temple and 'kabura coffee', below.
Same road  :  Prefectural Road No. 32 Fujisawa Kamakura Line as Shugenji Temple, I realized that there is a building which is very similar to 'Kamakura Bori Sunshodou'.

It was the first time I noticed the building even though I was walking on this road many times.

As I approached the building, there is a metal explanation board, and I found out that it was named 'Hakujitsudou'.

It is a Kamakura-bori shop like 'Kamakura Bori Sunshodou'.

The building is like a small castle.
The shutters on the first floor make me feel
 it is older and traditional.

Bergfeld Cafe
Bergfeld Cafe

Bergfeld Cafe
Since my husband R is a fan of Bergfeld's bread,
we often stop by when we come to Hase.
We bought some bread today, too.

Kamakurayama

It was a day of walking, but we took a bus from Hase to Kamakurayama.
Kokemaru, Plant Shop

Every time I see the shop, I think Kokemaru's sense is wonderful!

In Kamakura, I often photograph Camellias.
Are there a lot of camellia in Kamakura?
Or do I just like them?

The azaleas are starting to bloom.

It was an interesting walk.

We went to cafes, which was rare, so it was a day of change.

I think that going to cafes and restaurants also purifies my spirit.

Every day I regain my daily life while taking measures against corona.
