'花渡川ビアハウス' (ケドガワ ビアハウス) があります。
ここで、食事をしつつ、焼酎やさつま芋のビールを飲みました。
日本の法律では、さつま芋のビールは、'さつま芋の発泡酒'という
表示になります。

Kedogawa Beer House
'Kedogawa Beer House' is located on the premises of Satsuma Shuzo Brewery's Meijigura :
★ only in Japanese.
(Kedogawa : Kedo River)
Here, we drank Shōchū and sweet potato beer while eating.
Under Japanese law, sweet potato beer is labeled as 'sweet potato happoshu'.
According to Wiki about happoshu,
"Happoshu (発泡酒 happōshu lit. "sparkling alcoholic beverage"), or low-malt beer, is a tax category of Japanese liquor that most often refers to a beer-like beverage with less than 67% malt content.
The alcoholic beverage is popular among consumers for having a lower tax than beverages that the nation's law classifies as "beer."
Although the happoshu label is most frequently found on low-malt beer or beer-like products, alcopops that contain malt are also categorized as happoshu."

Description of Snacks in Japanese
'ぶえんかつお' は、一本釣りした鰹を船上にて活き〆（血抜き）したあと急速冷凍しています。
昔から枕崎では、塩をしていない新鮮な魚を'ぶえん'と呼んでおり、'ぶえんのように新鮮な' という意味を込めて「枕崎ぶえん鰹」と名づけられています。
'Buen Bonito' is made from pole-caught bonito that is ikijime (blood-free) on board the fishing boats and then flash-frozen.
Makurazaki has long called fresh fish that has not been salted 'Buen', and the name 'Makurazaki Buen Katsuo' means 'as fresh as buen'.

さつま芋のビールの味を疑っていましたが、思ったよりもずっと美味しかったです。
明治蔵の店ですでにお土産の購入をすませていましたが、ビールが美味しかったので、店に戻って、買い足しました。
【追記】
ビールはなるべく早めに飲んだ方が美味しいと感じました。
遅くなると、私にはさつま芋の香りが強くすぎて飲みにくくなりました。
We were sceptical about the taste of sweet potato beer, but it tasted much better than we expected.
We had already bought our souvenirs at the Meijigura shop, but the beers were lovely, so we went back to the shop and bought some more.
【Postscript】
I felt that the beer tasted better when I drank it as soon as possible.
Later, the sweet potato flavour was too strong for me, making it difficult to drink.

焼酎 明治蔵原酒(左)を飲みました。 私は、お酒の中で焼酎がもっとも苦手でしたが、 これは美味しく飲めました。 ベルギービールもそうだったのですが、 ベルギービールは苦手系であったのに、 現地で飲むとどんなベルギービールも美味しく感じ、 自分の節操のない舌を自分で笑いました。 ここでも同様のようです(笑)。 Shōchū I drank Meijigura Genshu : unprocessed shōchū (left). I don't really like shōchū, but this one was lovely. It was the same way with Belgian beer, even though I hadn't liked Belgian beer, when I drank it locally, I felt that any Belgianbeer was delicious, and I laughed at my own unprincipled tongue. It seems to be the same here, ha - ha.  日本に戻ってから、ベルギービールは好きになったので、 焼酎も以前よりは飲むようになるのかもしれません。 Since I came back to Japan, I have come to like Belgian beer, so I may drink more shōchū than before. |

4) オランダ由来 / From Netherlands

| 珍しい時計 作 : 長江 絹子 (?~) ヒンデローペンは、オランダ由来の特殊な絵画技法です。 この時計は、その技法によって作られました。 私は、ここで初めて、ヒンデローペン(アート) を知りました。 Rare Clock By Kinuko Nagae (?~) Hindeloopen is a special painting technique that originated in the Netherlands. This clock was made with that technique. It was here that I found about Hindeloopen (art) for the first time. |
ヒンデローペン(ヒンダローペン / Hindeloopen) はオランダの古くからの都市で、ヒンデローペンアートやヒンデローペン衣装が有名です。
'花渡川ビアハウス' に、オランダ由来のヒンデローペンの時計が飾ってあることにちょっと違和感がありました。
極めて日本的な焼酎と西洋文化があわない気がしたので...。
まあ、薩摩酒造と作家の 長江絹子さんが個人的なつながりがあるという、よくある、私的な理由かもしれませんが....。

Hindeloopen is an ancient Dutch city famous for its Hindeloopen art and Hindeloopen costumes.
I felt it a little strange that 'Kedogawa Beer House' had a Hindeloopen-style clock.
I felt that shōchū, which is extremely Japanese, does not go well with Western culture...
However, Kagoshima used to be part of the Satsuma Domain, and was the land of the Western-loving lord Shimazu Nariakira (1809 - 1858 / 11th lord of the Satsuma Domain).
Well, often there may be a private reason that Satsumashuzo Brewery and a maker, Kinuko Nagae have a personal connection...
5) 花渡川 / Kedo River
花渡川 (ケドガワ) は、鹿児島県薩摩半島南西部にあり、水源は磯間山 (イソマヤマ/ 標高362m)で、長さ、11.5kmの2級河川です。
('花渡川水系河川整備基本方針'を参考にしました)
私達は、鹿児島空港から枕崎まで、バスできました (下記)。
枕崎市に近づいた時に、新花渡橋から、花渡川 を見ました。
'花渡川'の名前を使用する会社や飲食店が多くあるところから、この地域にとって、知名度がある川なのだと察しられます。
'花渡川ビアハウス' もその1つですね。

Kedo River
The Kedo River : Kedo-gawa is located in the southwestern part of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, and its water source is Mt. Isoma (362m above sea level).
(I referred to the 'Basic Policy for River Development in the Kedo River System' in Japanese)
It flows from Mt. Isoma to the south of Kaseda City, and in Makurazaki City, tributaries such as the Kinzan River, Otoshi River, and Nakasu River and others join together, pass by Meijigura, and flows into the East China Sea.
We took a bus from Kagoshima Airport to Makurazaki, below.
When we approached Makurazaki City, I saw the Kedo River from a New Kedo Bridge.
From the fact that there are many companies and restaurants that use the name 'Kedogawa', it can be inferred that the river is well-known in this area.
'Kedogawa Beer House' is also one of them.
