After Meijigura
My sister Y and I finished our visit to Satsumashuzo Brewery's Meijigura and headed for Makurazaki fishing port.
We knew the market had already closed, but there is 'Makurazaki Fish Centre'.

"The Makurazaki Fish Center handles direct sales of fresh fish from the Makurazaki Fishing Port, which is adjacent to the Center.

According to Wiki about Tairyo-ki,
"Tairyō-bata (大漁旗), also called tairyo-ki, are originally traditional Japanese fisherman's flags flown by boats to signify a large catch of fish in returning its port.
Today, they are used as a decorative flags on vessels, for festivals and events, and for celebrating longevity."
C. 和紅茶 / Japanese English Tea
'枕崎お魚センター' で、最も驚いたのは、和紅茶が販売されいていることでした。
そのうえ、その和紅茶が、英国の 'グレート・テースト・アワード': ★で、賞を得ていました。
下記、グレート・テースト・アワード'について、サイト(日本語版)から引用。
"イギリスの高級食品組合「ザ・ギルド・オブ・ファインフード(The Guild of Fine Food)」が主催する食品の国際大会『Great Taste Awards（グレート・テイスト・アワード）』。
“食のオスカー”とも例えられるこの審査会は、イギリスの優れた農産物や加工品を評価し、食品産業の底上げを図るために1994年からスタート。

夫Rは、英国人です。
彼が日本へのおみやげを探すとき、彼は'グレート・テースト'マークのついたものを選ぶことが多いです。

| '姫ふうき' 真ん中の '姫ふうき'が、 '2018年・グレート・テースト・アワードで 1つ星を得ています。 ティーパックが小袋分け、リボン付きで売っていたので、 それをいくつか買いました。 'Himefuuki' 'Himefuuki' in the middle got 1 star at '2018 Great Taste Award'. Tea bags are sold in small bags tied with ribbons, so we bought some.  |
Japanese English Tea
The most surprising thing about 'Makurazaki Fish Centre' was that they sell Japanese black tea.
What's more, the Japanese black tea won an award in the UK's 'Great Taste'.

My husband R is British.
When he looks for souvenirs for Japan, he often selects items with a 'Great Taste' mark.

D. 鹿児島の茶業 / Kagoshima Tea Industry
鹿児島のお茶の生産量は、静岡についで全国2位です
年々、一位の静岡に追いついています。
2021年、静岡県のお茶が全国生産量38%、鹿児島県が33.9%です。
3位の三重県は6.9%で、かなり低く、静岡・鹿児島は、断然引き離しています。

Kagoshima Tea Industry
Kagoshima Prefecture's tea production volume is second only to Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan.
Year after year, Kagoshima is closing in on Shizuoka in first place.
In 2021, Shizuoka tea accounted for 38% of the national production, and Kagoshima accounted for 33.9%.
Shizuoka and Kagoshima are far above Mie Prefecture in third place with 6.9% which is much lower.

Established the first “Kagoshima tea export supply chain system” in the country to promote solid/safe and high quality exports of Kagoshima tea. 4) 人魚像 / Mermaid

| "平和の人魚像" 枕崎港に背を向けて、"平和の人魚像"が設置されています。 私はこの人魚像がアートには思えなかったので 青空美術館のセクションには入れませんでした。 この像は、旧枕崎駅駅舎前にあり、 そこからこの位置に移されたようです。 アート作品というよりは、記念品？ 現在では、'枕崎マーメイド'と呼ばれているそうです。 "Mermaid Statue of Peace" The "Mermaid Statue of Peace" is installed with its back to Makurazaki Port. I didn't put this mermaid in the Aozora Museum section because it didn't look like art to me. This statue was in front of the former Makurazaki Station building, and seems to have been moved to this position from there. A memento rather than an art work?
