雲と山並み
母はクリスマスを鎌倉宅で、年末年始を姉宅で過ごしました。
この日、母を姉と二人で桐生へ送りました。
私は、姉宅の最寄り駅まで電車で向かい、そこから母が同乗する姉の車に便乗しました。
この写真は、山並みを国道122号線を走る車から撮影しました。
山並みの上部は雲がかかって、一体化しています。
桐生に住んでいるときは山が普通にありすぎて何とも思いませんでした。
ですが、離れてみると山の不思議さと美しさに心を動かされます。

Clouds and Mountains

Our mother spent Christmas in my house in Kamakura and year-end and New Year holidays in my sister's house.

On this day, I took a train to the nearest station to my sister's house, and from there my sister drove us to our mother home in Kiryu.

This photograph was taken from the car on National Route 122.

The upper part of the mountain range is covered with clouds and they mix together.

When I lived in Kiryu, the mountains were so ordinary, I didn't care about them.

However, after I left there, I am moved by the mystery and beauty of mountains.

高野商店 / Takano Shop
高野商店は、桐生では、'忠治漬' で有名なお店です。
高野商店は本店( 錦町）と市役所通り店があります。
この日は市役所通り店に行きました。
本店にしてもこのお店にしても随分長い間
行っていませんでした。
'忠治漬' は、通常のわさび漬よりも甘めです。

高野商店 / Takano Shop

In Kiryu, Takano Shop is famous 

for 'Chuji-zuke' (Wasabi and vegetables preserved in sake lees).

The shop has a main shop in Nishikicho 

and a branch in a city hall street.

This day we went to the branch shop.

I hadn't been to either for a long time.

雪
(帰りの電車から)
帰る途中、雪が降り始めました。
このときは、雪でバスやタクシーで帰宅することが
できなくなることを予想していませんでした。
鎌倉駅到着後の話は後のセクションに載せます。

Snow

(From the return train)

On my way home, it started to snow.

At this time, I didn't expect that the snow would make it 

impossible to get home by bus or taxi.
