実は私の父はそこで育ちました。
それとは全く関係なく、私のイラストレーションの初期の仕事で南北線開通時にイラストマップの仕事をさせていただきました。
なので、麻布商店組合の方々とは縁があります。

麻布十番陶器フェアのポスター
友人の陶芸家、Aricoさんが麻布十番のイベントに参加しました。
私と夫Rとそこへ出かけました。
Aricoさんは笠間焼を学びました。
Wikiでは
"「特徴がないのが特徴」と言われているが、これは太平洋戦争後、
先人の仕事を尊重しつつも伝統にこだわらない自由な作品が作れる
笠間の気風を求めて、各地から若い陶芸家たちが集まったためである"
とあり、まさにAricoさんもその自由さを気に入って笠間焼を選んだのです。
笠間の有名な陶炎祭(ヒマツリ)は、約50万人のビジターがあると言われています。

A potter friend, Arico joined an event in Azabu-Jūban.
I went there with my husband R.
Arico learned Kasama ware.
According to Japanese Wiki,
This was because, after the Second War,
young people from all Japan gathered together as potters, because Kasama ware 's trait forgives making free works without tradition, as well as respecting the work by their predecessors."
Arico likes the freedom and that was why she selected to learn Kasama ware.
The famous Himatsuri Festival, which is held in Kasama,
is said to have about 500,000 visitors.

Azabu-Jūban Pottery Fair
Azabu-Jūban is a town in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Actually my father grew up there.
Regardless of that, when I was a freelance illustrator, one of my earliest commissions was 'Town Map', when Azabu-Jūban station opened on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line.
Therefore, I have a connection with the people of Azabu Shop Association.

パティオ十番
パティオ十番という広場でイベントは開催されていると聞いたので、
地下鉄南北線から向かいました。
途中で差し入れの飲み物を購入。
Patio Jūban
I heard that the event was being held in a square called Patio-Jūban,
so we headed from the underground Nanboku line.
We bought drinks as gifts on the way.

AricoさんとMを見つけました！
Mはアメリカ人でAricoさんの彼氏です。 ちなみに二人は、今年の3月のこのイベントで出逢ったそうです。 いろいろな出会いが不思議に思います。 I found Arico with M! M is an American and Arico's boyfriend. By the way, it seems that they met at this event in March, 2019. I am wondering about various encounters. |

麻布通り方面を見る
麻布通り側から私達はここに来ました。
麻布十番といえば、"きみちゃん像"が有名です。
そしてその像は、パティオ十番にあるはずなのですが、
この時はすっかりその像のことを忘れていました。
"きみちゃん像"は大黒坂側にありますが、そちらは撮影しなかったので、
どの写真にも写っていませんでした。

We came here from the Azabu-dori Ave side.

Speaking of Azabujuban, "Kimi-chan statue" is famous.
And the statue should be on Patio-Juban,
although at this time I completely forgot about the statue.
The "Kimi-chan statue" is on the Daikokuzaka-hill side,
however, I didn't photograph that side, so it wasn't in any of my photographs.

私達は予約していた器: '線紋碗'を購入しました。 購入した器は、左の黒字に白、赤字に白のストライプと同じデザインの器です。 Line Pattern Series
We purchased the bowls we had reserved: 'Senmon-wan'.
The bowls we bought are the same design
as the white stripes in black and in red on the left.

AricoさんとMを鎌倉山宅へ招待し、詳細はその後に決める話をして彼らと別れました。
この後、私達は、東京の病院に入院している友人のお見舞いに行きました。
We invited Arico and M to Kamakurayama's house, and we agreed to talk about the details later and said Good-bye.
After here, we went to visit one of our friends who was staying in a Tokyo hospital.
