1) カフェ / Cafe

明日は日本へ帰る (夫Rも一緒に) 日、

 ヴィクトリア・アンド・アルバート博物館 : V&A   へ慌てて出かけました。

まずは、いつものように、カフェへ行きました。

Tomorrow was the day I was going back to Japan with my husband R,

so I hurried to Victoria and Albert Museum : V & A .

First, as usual, we went to a cafe.

ジェームズ・ギャンブル (1837 - 1911)、

ウィリアム・モリス (1834 -1896)、

エドワード・ポインター(1836 - 1919)

によって設計された豪華な内装のゲストルームは、

ヴィクトリア朝時代 (1837 - 1901) の折衷的な趣を反映しています。

Designed by James Gamble (1837 - 1911 / ★),

William Morris (1834 -1896) and

Edward Poynter (1836 - 1919),

the opulently decorated rooms

reflect the eclectic tastes of the Victorian era (1837 - 1901).

世界で初めての博物館カフェ
当初は”ギャンブル・ルーム”、“モリスの部屋”

“ポインター・ルーム”

の3つの異なるダイニングスペースに分かれていましたが、

現在では、まとまって、1つのカフェ: "Refreshment Rooms"

として営業しています。

今回、私達は、

”ギャンブル・ルーム” : "Gamble Room, James Gamble, 1865 - 78"

を使用しました。

World's First Museum Cafe

Initially, it was divided into three different dining spaces,

the "Gamble Room", "Morris Room" and

"Pointer Room," but now they operate as a single cafe : “Refreshment Rooms”.
This time we used the "Gamble Room, James Gamble, 1865 - 78".

殆どは、モリスの部屋を利用していました。
もしかしたら、”ギャンブル・ルーム” は初めて使ったのかもしれません。

Most used Morris Room.
Perhaps this was the first time I used the "Gamble Room".

2) 中庭 / Courtyard

中庭に、日本人アーティスト兼建築家、隈 研吾 (クマ ケンゴ / 1954 ~ )氏の作品が展示してありました。

In the courtyard, the work of Japanese artist and architect, Kengo Kuma (1954 ~) was exhibited.

V&Aの中心に日本人の方の作品が点されていて嬉しい。

I was glad that the work of a Japanese person was at the centre of the V & A.

金属の輪がアコーディオンのように動くおもちゃ：

'スリンキー' を思い出しました。

It reminds me of a toy with a metal ring that moves like an accordion : 'Slinky'.

3) ショップ / Shop

クマのプーさん 
'クマのプーさん'の商品があったので、もしや、
プーさんの展覧会があったのかと推測しました。
"Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic”: ★ が
2017年12月9日から2018年4月8日まで開催されていました。
この時にはすでに終了していました。
行きたかった！

Winnie-the-Pooh

There were products of "Winnie the Pooh", so if ...

I guess there was an exhibition about Winnie the Pooh.

"Winnie-the-Pooh : Exploring a Classic": ★

 was held from December 9, 2017 to April 8, 2018.

By this time it was already finished.

I wanted to go!

"クマのプーさん"  [1925 / A・A・ミルン (1882 -1956) 作]は、英国文学の中で、大好きな作品の1つです。

"Winnie the Pooh" [1925 / A. A. Milne (1882 -1956)] is one of my favourite works in British literature.

デイル・チフーリ(1941)は大好きなアーティストの一人です。

Dale Chihuly (1941) is one of my favourite artists.

どうにか、V&Aに来ることができてよかったです。

翌日には、もう、ヒースロー空港から日本へ帰りました。

I'm glad I was finally able to visit to V & A .

The next day, we returned to Japan from Heathrow Airport.
