1)帰る前日 / The Day Before Returning
ヴィクトリア・アンド・アルバート博物館 : V&A は、好きな博物館なので、英国へ行ったなら、特別展覧会を見る見ない問わず、必ず見に行っていました。
明日はもう、日本へ帰る (夫Rも一緒に) という日になってV&A へ慌てて出かけました。
Rは、テート・モダンへは、私へのお付き合いで一緒に行きますが、V&Aの方は彼自身が好きです。
なので、今回も、一緒に出かけました。
特別展はマリー・クヮント展 / Mary Quant Exhibitionを開催していました。
マリー・クヮント展を目指してたわけではないですが、今夏を通して行った美術館・博物館とは方向が違う展覧会でしたので、私にとっては、非常にバランスがとれてよかったです。

Victoria and Albert Museum : V & A is my favourite museum, so if I went to Britain, I would definitely visit, whether I see a special exhibition or not.
R goes to Tate Modern with me just as company, but he likes V & A.
So we went out together this time as well.
The special exhibition was the Mary Quant Exhibition.
I wasn't aiming for the Mary Quant Exhibition, but it was the Exhibition in a different direction from the museums I had visited throughout this summer, so it was good for me to have a good balance.
2) マリー・クヮント / Mary Quant
マリー・クヮント (1930 ~ ）は、イギリスのファッション・デザイナーで、ファッションブランドの名前でもあります。
私は、マリー・クヮントの黒の５枚の花弁のマークとそれがデザインされた小物類しか知りませんでした。
マリー・クヮント展 で初めて、彼女の服を見ました。

"この展覧会では、この展示では、マリー・クヮントが英国のハイストリートで
ファッション革命をどのように始めたかを探りました。
展示品は、ミニスカートやホットパンツから鮮やかなタイツやメイクまで、

200を超える衣服がアあります。"
According to the Museum's Website: ★
"From miniskirts and hot pants to vibrant tights and makeup,
this exhibition explored how Mary Quant launched a fashion revolution
on the British high street, with over 200 garments,
including unseen pieces from the designer's personal archive."

Mary Quant
Mary Quant (1930 ~) is a British fashion designer and the name of a fashion brand.
I knew only Mary Quant's five black petal mark and the accessories on which they are designed.
I saw her clothes for the first time at the Mary Quant Exhibition.

マリー・クヮントは、1955年に夫アレグザンダー・プランケット ・グリーン (1957 - 1990)らとともに、ロンドン チェルシー地区のスローン・スクエア周辺、
キングス・ロード界隈に "バザー / Bazaar" という店を開きました。

1958年頃から、スカート丈を短くして"ミニスカート" (Miniskirts)として売り出し、大ヒットします。
同時期にフランスでアンドレ・クレージュ (1923 - 2016) も、クヮントと関係ありませんがミニスカートを世に出しています。

Mary Quant, along with her husband Alexander Plunket Greene (1957 - 1990) and others, opened a store called "Bazaar" in 1955 near King's Road around Sloane Square in Chelsea, London.
From around 1958, the skirt length was shortened and it was put on the market as "Miniskirts" and became a big hit.
The mini is derived from the British car "Mini" that Quant loves.
At the same time, André Courrèges (1923 - 2016) also released a miniskirt in France, although it had nothing to do with Quant.
3) ジンジャー・グループ / Ginger Group
1963年に彼女は "ジンジャー・グループ" / "Ginger Group" と呼ばれる低価格の既製服を発売しました。
彼女はまた、自分の名前が付いた靴下、下着、化粧品、アクセサリーを製造するためにメーカーとライセンス契約を結びました。
In 1963, she launched a lower-priced ready-to-wear range called "Ginger Group".
She also entered into licensing agreements with manufacturers to produce hosiery, underwear, cosmetics and accessories bearing her name.
