1) 世界一のアップルパイ /  'Best Apple Pie in the World'

私が日本に、鎌倉にいない間に、'世界一のアップルパイ 'という謳い文句の店がオープンしていました。

とは書きましたが、私が英国へ行く前に、すでにオープンしていたのかもしれません。

私と夫Rは、留守を長くしていたので、いろいろな雑事をしに鎌倉駅周辺へ出かけました。

用事を済ませて、フラフラと若宮大路を歩いていて、"mille mele"を見つけました。

While I wasn't in Kamakura, Japan, a shop with the slogan

'The best apple pie in the world' was opened.

I wrote that, but it may have already been open before I went to Britain.

Since I and my husband R were away for a long time,

we went to the area around Kamakura Station to do various miscellaneous things.

After finishing our errands, we were walking along Wakamiya Ōji

and found "mille mele".

購入してベンチを見つけて食べました。

美味しくいただきましたよ。

実物の撮影をしなかったのでその代わりにお店の宣伝の写真を見てください。

でも、'世界一' への期待が大きく(苦笑)、こんなものなのねという印象でした。

それにアップルパイというのは、国別、家庭別で基本の味が違うのも、

味を判断するのが難しいと思います。

We bought two, found a bench and ate.

They were good.

I didn't photograph the real thing,

so please look at the shop's promotional photograph instead.

Whilst I had high expectations for 'the best in the world' (Wry simile),

and my impression was, so so.

Also, the basic taste of apple pie differs depending on the country and each family.

I think it's difficult to judge the taste.

素晴らしい経歴ですね。
パティシエでなく、シェフなのですね。
ちょっとびっくりです。

2) 和食が食べたくて / I want to eat Japanese food.

私達の結婚を籍に入れた晩の食事を作ってくれた板前さんが、鎌倉山倶楽部から独立して店を出しました。

お店は、”お食事・とみやま " : ★です。

彼はRの食の問題を鎌倉山倶楽部時代から知っているので、比較的安心して、ここで外食ができます。

お店の場所は便利ですし、値段も、鎌倉山倶楽部からすると格段に安いです。

もちろん、鎌倉山倶楽部は懐石に近い料理で、"とみやま "は居酒屋系なので、

まあ、安いはずなのです。

チェーン店の居酒屋よりは少々高いかもしれませんが、味、材料の質を考慮すると安く感じます。

私達にとっては、素晴らしく快適なお店です。

プロが作る和食が食べたくて、この日、私達は、"とみやま"へ行きました。

今日のお品書き / Today's Menu

I want to eat Japanese food.

A Japanese chef, Tomiyama, cooked our marriage dinner in "Kamakurayama Club", and later opened his own Japanese restaurant.

The Japanese restaurant is "Tomiyama": ★.

He has known R's food problems since the days of the Kamakurayama Club, 

so R can eat out here with relative peace of mind.

The location of the restaurant is convenient and the price is much cheaper than the Kamakurayama Club.

Of course, Kamakurayama Club was a meal close to Kaiseki, and "Tomiyama" is an izakaya type : Japanese pub type, so it should be less expensive.

(By the way, the Kamakurayama Club has since closed)

Tomiyama may be a little more expensive than a chain izakaya, but it feels good value considering the taste and quality of the ingredients.

It's a nice and comfortable restaurant for us.

We went to "Tomiyama" on this day because I wanted to eat Japanese food made by professionals.

まずはお刺身から！
　注文した全ての料理の撮影はしませんでした。

First of all, Sashimi!
I didn't photograph all the dishes we ordered.

いつも京都のお酒の後にこれを　一合いただきました。
I had a cup of this sake after the usual sake from Kyoto.

鎌倉山倶楽部のときから、デザートは濃厚なプリン。
Rはこれが大好きです。

Since the time of Kamakurayama Club, dessert has been a rich pudding.
R loves this.

美味しくいただきました。
