ストックホルム市立図書館の模型
前回から引き続き、ストックホルム市立図書館はについてです。
模型は、'スウェーデン建築設計センター ' : ArkDesにあります。
Model Stockholm Public Library
Continuing from previous about Stockholm Public Library,
this section is mainly about inside the Stockholm City Library.
This Library was designed by Erik Gunnar Asplund (1885 -1940).
Built and Established in 1928.
The model can be found at the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design
(Svenskt arkitekturoch designcentrum ) : ArkDes.

 外壁にもエジプト風のデザインのレリーフがあり、 エジプトとの関連を思いつつ、中央閲覧室に向かいました。 While climbing the stairs, I saw Egyptian reliefs. There is also a relief with an Egyptian design on the outer wall, and I headed to the central reading room, thinking about the relationship with Egypt.  レリーフある入り口の後に、ちょっと狭い、ちょっと暗い階段を登ります。 After the relief entrance, climb a little narrow, slightly dark staircase.

開けた空間に感動します。
この印象を強めるための暗め階段だったのだと気がつきます。

2) 中央閲覧室 / Central Reading Room
A. 360度 / 360 - degrees
ストックホルム市立図書館は、訪問者が図書館のスタッフに支援を求める必要なしに本にアクセスできるオープンシェルフの原則を適用したスウェーデン初の公共図書館です。この概念は、図書館の建設中にグンナール・アスプルンド が米国で研究しました。
すべての部屋のすべての家具は、特定の位置と目的のために設計されました。

建物内の中心部は、吹き抜けの円柱型 ('ロタンダ')をしており、
360度書架を見渡すことができます。
図書館には、200万冊を超える図書と
240万本のオーディオテープ、CD、オーディオブックがあります。(別館含む) 
The central part of the building has an open-air columnar shape ('rotunda'),
overlooking the 360 - degree shelving.
The library has over 2 million books and
2.4 million audiotapes, CDs and audiobooks.

360 - degrees
The Stockholm Public Library is Sweden's first public library, applying the open-shelf principle of allowing visitors to access books without having to ask the library staff for help.
This concept was studied by Gunnar Asplund in the United States during the construction of the library.
All furniture in every room was designed for a specific location and purpose.

ヨハン・アウグスト・ストリンドベリ(1849 - 1912)は
スウェーデンの劇作家、小説家、詩人、随筆家です。
この像は寄付されたものです。
ストリンドベリはスウェーデン人にとって、
文学の象徴なのでしょうか？

3) 四角い箱の中 / Inside the Box
図書館の建物は、四角い箱の中心に円柱型 ('ロタンダ') が乗った構造になっています。
円柱部分は、中央閲覧室、箱の部分は、スタディルームや、児童図書室などがあります。
The building of the library has a structure in which a cylindrical type (''rotunda'') is placed in the centre of a square box.
The cylindrical part is the central reading room, and the box part is the study room, children's library and others.

壁が木製で、控えめな装飾が素敵です。
アスプルンドの当初の計画の多くの装飾(パーツ)は、減らされています。 モダニズムヘ移行でしょうか？ The walls are wooden and the understatement is lovely.
Many decorations (parts) in Asplund's original plan were reduced.
Was he going to modernism?

| 図書館に入る前に行った、 オブザーバトリエルンデン公園 (Observatorielunden) が見えます。 オブジェなのか、機能としてのシンクなのかわかりませんが、 エジプトを思わせるデザインです。 窓の外の外壁(右)の模様もエジプト文様です。 I can see the Observatorielunden park, which we went to before entering the library. I do not know whether this is an object or a sink with a function, but it has a design reminiscent of Egypt. 外壁や入り口のエジプト文様のレリーフ、
中央閲覧室への入り口が狭いこと、
ドームの中央閲覧室、
そしてここにもエジプトのシンク、
などから、この図書館はピラミッドを思わせます。
ピラミッドはお墓ですし、"森の墓地"も設計したアスプルンドには
彼なりの繋がりがあるように私は思います。
From the Egyptian reliefs on the outer walls and entrance,
the narrow entrance to the central reading room,
the central reading room of the dome,
and here also the Egyptian sink, the library reminds us of a pyramid.
The pyramid is a grave, and Asplund, who also designed the "Woodland Cemetery",
I think he had a connection.

ストックホルム市立図書館は、北欧古典主義の代表的な例の1つです。
北欧古典主義は、人間も自然の中の1つであり、生と死は繰り返されると言う思想が含まれています。
北欧古典主義は、人間も自然の中の1つであり、生と死は繰り返されると言う思想が含まれています。
この図書館にも、アスプルンドが抱く、生と死は繰り返しの思想が反映されているのかもしれません。
死を思うことは、生を思うこと、ピラミッドはお墓...。
アスプルンドは、生きるための知識や文化が図書館にあると言いたのでしょうか？
The Stockholm Public Library is one of the leading examples of Swedish Classicism (Nordic Classicism ).
Nordic Classicism includes the idea that human beings are a part of nature and the circle of life and death repeating.
It is a thought that reminds me of reincarnation (or Metempsychosis).
This library may also reflect the repeated thoughts of life and death that Asplund had.
Thinking about death is thinking about life, a pyramid is a grave...
Did Asplund want to tell us that the library has the knowledge and culture to live in the period before death?

私達は、全部を見ることはせず、図書館を後にし、エステルマルム市場へ向かいました。
We didn't see the whole building, left the library and headed to the Östermalms Saluhall
: Ostermalm market.
