私は基本的に2年に一度、夏に、英国滞在をします。
その滞在中に、1、2度はキングストン・アポン・テムズ(町)のジョン・ルイス百貨店 John Lewis & Partners に行きます。
(通常、町の名は、'キングストン'とだけ言います)
夫のRが公私に渡り、よく利用する百貨店なので、日用品など、または日用品のお土産が欲しい場合は、自動的にここに来ることになります。
以前もこの百貨店についてブログに載せていましたが、それが2010年の夏でした

随分前のことなのね〜と驚き、また、このブログを始めての月日も結構たつものだと、再び、びっくりしましたが、ジョン・ルイスは、創業してから155年がたっています(2019年8月現在)!

呉服屋として1号店が開店されました。
History of John Lewis ; 1864 - 2014
The history of John Lewis was displayed on the wall in the cafe.
The flagship store on Oxford Street began as a drapery shop,
opened by John Lewis in 1864.

John Lewis
I usually stay in Britain every two years, in the summer.
During that stay, I go to John Lewis department store : John Lewis & Partners in Kingston upon Thames, once or twice .
(Normally, just say 'Kingston')
Since my husband, R often used the department store for his business and private, when I want to have daily necessities or souvenirs for daily necessities, I automatically go here.
I mentioned about this department store in my blog before, it was the summer of 2010, below.
I was surprised that it was so long ago, and after I started my blog time passes very much, though John Lewis has been in business for 155 years (as of August 2019)!

がキャッチフレーズ。
キングストンのお店は、1990年にオープンしました。 From 1925,
"Never Knowingly Undersold"
is the catchphrase.

2) ハフキンズ / HUFFKINS
この日、ジョン・ルイスで、初めて"ハフキンズ "/ "HUFFKINS"のティー・ルーム : ★を見ました。
ティー・ルームの前には、"HUFFKINS"のロゴをデザインしたバックが色別でたくさん売られていました。
この時、私は、"HUFFKINS"について何も知りませんでした。
なので、このティー・ルームには行きませんでした。
この日にもしも知っていたら、ティー・ルームは利用したと思います。
バックはどちらにしても買いませんでしたね。

HUFFKINS
In John Lewis, on this day, I first came across "HUFFKINS" tea-room : ★.
In front of the tea room, there were many colour-coded bags with the "HUFFKINS" logo.
At this time, I knew nothing about "HUFFKINS" and I did not go in.
Later, when I travelled to the Cotswolds, I knew of them and went to the main shop : "Huffkins Cotswold Bakery & Tearooms” in Burford : ★.
If I had known about "HUFFKINS" on this day, I would have used the tea room.
I didn't buy a bag anyway.

ウィンブルドンの自宅では一度もパブに連れて行ってもらえないので、
喉がとても乾いていたので、ポット・ティもいただきました！
Rはカフェラテを飲みました。
I had a small bottle of Prosecco here,
because I could never be taken to a pub at our home in Wimbledon.
My throat was very dry, so I had a pot of tea, as well!
R drank a latte.

テムズ川
テムズ川沿にジョン・ルイスは立地しています。
このカフェで休む時にテムズ川の風景も楽しめて、
私はここが好きです。
River Thames
John Lewis is located along the River Thames.
I enjoy the view of the River Thames when I rest in this cafe, and I like it here.
