1) テムズ川に沿って / Along the Thames
From Tate Britain, we walked along the River Thames to Waterloo Station.
テイト・ブリテンについては下記。 / About Tate Britain, below。

地下鉄のピムリコ駅がテイト・ブリテンの近くにありますが、
この日はテムズ川に沿って歩きたいな〜と思いました。
Pimlico Tube Station is near Tate Britain,
but on this day I wanted to walk along the Thames.

来るたびにのっぽなビルが増えてゆく気がします。
I feel that the number of tall buildings increases each time I come. |

ランベス橋
エンジニアのジョージ・ハンフリーズ / Sir George Humphreys (1863 -1945), と
建築家のレジナルド・ブロムフィールド/ Sir Reginald Blomfield (1856 -1942) と
同じく建築家のG. トップン ・フォレスト/ G. Topham Forrest (1872 -1945)
によって設計、1932年に開通しました。
Lambeth Bridge
Lambeth Bridge was designed by engineer Sir George Humphreys (1863 -1945),
architects Sir Reginald Blomfield (1856 -1942) and G. Topham Forrest (1872 -1945)
It was opened in 1932.
It was declared a Grade II listed structure in 2008.
石のアーチの橋には西洋を感じます。
I feel an arch bridge of stone is western.

| ウェストミンスター橋とダブルデッカー Westminster Bridge and Double Deckers 
ウェストミンスター橋
初代のウェストミンスター橋 (下の画像) は1750年に開通しました。
2005~07年鉄製の鼻隠(ハナカクシ)の交換や、橋全体の塗り直しなど、全面的な改修が行われました。
Westminster Bridge
The current bridge was designed by Thomas Page (1803 -1877) and opened in 1862.
In 2005–2007, it underwent a complete refurbishment,
including replacing the iron fascias and repainting the whole bridge.
It was designated a Grade II listed structure in 1981.

ランベス宮殿 / Lambeth Palace

モートン塔は、1490年に赤レンガのチューダー様式で作られ、
現在は入り口として使用されています。
Morton's Tower
Lambeth Palace is the official London residence of
the Archbishop of Canterbury in England.
In 1490, the Morton’s Tower made in a Tudor style of red brick
and is now used as the entrance.
もともとランベス屋敷 (Manor of Lambeth) またはランベス邸 (Lambeth House)
と呼ばれていたこの場所は、1200年頃に大主教によって取得されました。
Originally called the Manor of Lambeth or Lambeth House,
the site was acquired by the archbishopric around 1200.
風向計
英国には色々なデザインの風向計があり、
見つけて撮影するのが楽しいです。
この風向計には、カンタベリー大主教の紋章が組み込まれています。
Anemoscope
There are various designs of anemoscope in Britain.
It is fun to find and photograph.
This anemoscope incorporates the Arms of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

川辺や海辺の街灯には、こんな水の幻獣(ゲンジュウ)が
よく組み込まれているように思います。
私は結構、好きです。 Water Monster
I think that such water illusionary beasts are often incorporated
into riverside and seaside street lamps.
I quite like them.

ウェストミンスター宮殿
ウェストミンスター宮殿は英国国会議事堂であり、
時計台のビック・ベンも併設されています。
ビック・ベンの正式名は、エリザベス・タワーです。
ビック・ベンは修理中で、ちょっと残念！
Palace of Westminster
The Palace of Westminster is
the Houses of Parliament of the United Kingdom
with Big Ben.
The official name of Big Ben is Elizabeth Tower.
Big Ben is under repair, a bit disappointing!

この彫像があまりに不思議なデザインで撮影。
何を意図して作ったのでしょうか？
This statue is a very strange design, so I photographed.
What was the intention?

Current County Hall owner is a Japanese company,
Shirayama Shokusan Company Limited.
A little surprised!

アイスクリーム屋さん
日本では見たことがない屋台のアイスクリーム屋としてのディスプレイ、
目を引くには十分な効果があると思います。
でも私は買いません..甘いものが苦手です。
Ice Cream Shop
A display that I have never seen in Japan used in an ice cream mobile shop.
I think it is effective enough to get a lot of looks.
But I do not buy .. I am not good at sweets.

ロンドン・アイ / London Eye
 |
私がロンドン・アイに乗った時は、ブリティッシュ・エアウェイズが
スポンサーでした。
乗車関係のチケット、アナウンス などが実際の飛行を思わせて、
気が利いたアトラクションでした。
ブリティッシュ・エアウェイズがスポンサーと言うのも
その気にさせてくれました。 けれでも現在はコカ・コーラで..... 
When I got on the London Eye, it was sponsored by British Airways.
Tickets, flight guidance and announcements gave us the feelings of
taking a flight, so it was smart attraction.
The fact that British Airways was the sponsor also engendered the feeling of flying.
However, currently its sponsor is Coca-Cola, so .....

| 私が通った英語学校 ここで、できた友人たちと今でも付き合えていることが嬉しい。 English Language School I Attended I made friends here and I am glad we are still close.  |

| いつも可愛いな〜と思いつつ眺めますが一度も行ったことがないカフェ(ホテル)。 A cafe (hotel) that I always think looks lovely, but I've never been. |
