1) セントラル・ロンドンへ / To Central London
6月に英国入りした後、この日、初めてセントラル・ロンドンへ出ました。

住まいはウィンブルドンにも関わらず、セントラル・ロンドンに出たのは1ヶ月以上たってからのことでした。

元来、自宅からあまり出ず、満足してしまいます。

今回の英国滞在では、セントラル・ロンドンに出て、たくさん、美術館へ行くぞ〜！と思って、こんな結果です。

まあ、英国内旅行は、セントラル・ロンドンへ出かける前にしていますが...。

テート・ブリテン /  Tate Britain で開催されていた"ゴッホ展" :
"THE EY EXHIBITION VAN GOGH AND BRITAIN"が目的でした。

テート・ブリテンのサイトでは、
"ここ10年間で最大規模のゴッホの絵画コレクション"
であると説明されていました。

フィンセント・ファン・ゴッホ / Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853 - 1890) が英国に住んでいた時期に焦点を当てた展覧会のようでした。

私の英国滞在中に、オランダ旅行の計画があり、アムステルダムの "ゴッホ美術館" もその中に含まれていました。

ここに、何か、"リンク"を感じ、ぜひ、テイトの "ゴッホ展" は行くべし！と思い、重い腰をあげました(笑)。　　　

ところで、展覧会タイトル中の "EY"は 、"Ernst & Young / アーンスト・アンド・ヤング" は、 展覧会のスポンサー名です。

スポンサー名が展覧会のタイトルに織り込まれていることに、少し驚きを感じました。

To Central London

After entering Britain in June, I went to Central London for the first time on this day.

Despite living in Wimbledon, it was more than a month later.

Originally, I don't get out of my home very much and I'm satisfied.

I thought this time in Britain, I would like to go to Central London more and go to many museums or galleries! and this was the result....

Well, I had trips in Britain before Central London ...

"Van Gogh Exhibition" held in Tate Britain : "THE EY EXHIBITION VAN GOGH AND BRITAIN" was the purpose.

According to Tate Britain's website,

"The EY Exhibition: Van Gogh and Britain presents the largest collection of Van Gogh’s paintings in the UK for nearly a decade. "

It looked like an exhibition focused on Van Gogh when he lived in Britain.

During my stay in Britain, I was planning a trip to the Netherlands which would include the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Here, I felt something, "a link", and by all means, go to Tate's "Van Gogh Exhibition" ! I got off my lazy butt (Laugh).

By the way, "EY" in the exhibition title means "Ernst & Young", the sponsor's name of the exhibition.

I was a little surprised that the sponsor name was included in the title of the exhibition.

2) ウィンブルドン / Wimbledon
ウィンブルドンの街を歩くのでさえも、今回、この時が初めてかも....。

あらためて、出不精の自分を感じます。


This time may be the first time, even when walking in Wimbledon.

 I feel I am a stay‐at‐home again.

この道はなんども歩いているのに、
初めて白樺がここにあることに気がつきました。

For the first time, I noticed that birch trees are here, 
even though I have walked here many times.

英国の田舎町のビルという感じがします。
違う言葉で言うなら、昔懐かしい感じがします。

It feels like a building in a rural English town.

In other words, I feel "good old days".

パブのデコレーション
デコレーションに英国旗・ユニオンジャックが気軽に使用できる感覚が
ちょっと羨ましいです。
以前はそんな風に感じなかったのに、今回の旅行では
ユニオンジャックがこんな風に使われているのを見るたびに
この感情が起きました。

Pub Decoration
I am a little jealous of the feeling that the British flag : Union Jack
can be used easily for decoration.
This sentiment happened every time I saw Union Jack being used this way.

看板も英国風
この冠は、チャールズ王太子 (1948 -) を思い起こさせます。
あとで気がつきましたが、これは、

ウェールズ公 (プリンス・オブ・ウェールズ) : チャールズ王太子の徽章でした。

'プリンス・オブ・ウェールズの羽根'とも呼ばれます。

この場合の 'プリンス' は王子でなく、君主の意味です。

Signboard, Also British Style
This crown reminds me of Prince Charles (1948 -).

I noticed later that this is the emblem of Prince of Wales : Prince Charles.

Also known as 'Prince of Wale's feathers'.

携帯電話の店
英国で、Rが使用している会社です。
私が英国で使用する携帯電話のためにやってきました。

もしもの時のための携帯電話です。
本体は日本で使用しているi-phoneですが、どの契約にするかを決め
Rが私のSIMカードを購入してくれました。
Rも私も弱い世界なので、最適な選択をしたか今もってわかりません(苦笑)。

とにかく、ありがとう、R!

Mobile Phone Shop

The company that R uses in Britain.

We came for a mobile phone I used in the country.

A mobile phone for when things go emergency.

The main unit is i-phone used in Japan, but decide which contract to make.

He purchased a SIM card for me.

Both he and I are in a weak world, so I don't know even now

if he made the best choice (Wry Smile).

隣の店はHMV

看板がビクターの犬....好きなデザインと言うか、懐かしいと言うか...

子供の頃、このデザインの陶器の置物が好きでした。

今、あれはどこにあるのでしょうか？

The sign is Victor's dog ...I say it is a favourite design or nostalgic for me...

When I was a child, I liked this design of ceramic figurines.

Where is that now?

センター・コート・ショッピング・センター
この日はお店には行きません。
このビル正面左にウィンブルドン駅の改札があります。
そこから入って、ビクトリア駅に行きました。

I did not go to a shop on this day.

There is a ticket gate for Wimbledon Station

on the front left of this building.

From there, we went to Victoria Station.

3) ヴィクトリア駅 / Victoria Station

ウィンブルドンから、テイト・ブリテン /  Tate Britain への経路はいくつかあり、

今日はヴィクトリア駅からバスで向かう方法をRが選びました。

There are several routes from Wimbledon to Tate Britain, and today R has chosen to take the bus from Victoria Station.

久々に見るヴィクトリア駅の駅舎です。
It is the Victoria Station building, seen after a long absence.

バスターミナル
どれに乗ってゆくのか、わからない....
Rがスタッフに聞いてもよくわからない...

でも、どうにか、お目当のバスに乗ることができました。
いざ、テイト・ブリテンヘ！

We did not know which one to take ...

We did not understand enough even when R asked the staff ...

But somehow, we were able to get on our bus.

Now go to Tate Britain!
