1) ヘレフォード / Hereford
ヘレフォードは、ヘレフォードシャー/ Herefordshireの州都(郡庁所在地)です。
ヘレフォード図 / Hereford Mappa Mundi があることで知られる、ヘレフォード大聖堂 / Hereford Cathedral があります。
ヘレフォード図 については下記。
とは言うものの、私はヘレフォード大聖堂を訪ねてから、そこにヘレフォード図があることを知りました。(Rはそのことは知っていましたけれど...)
ヘレフォード図は、とても私好みの世界のものだったので、ヘレフォードの地を訪れたことを非常に嬉しく思いました。
ヘレフォード大聖堂やヘレフォード図については、のちのブログに載せます。

Hereford
I and my husband R stayed in Hereford for two nights before going to Manchester.
Hereford is the county city (county seat) of Herefordshire.
Here is Hereford Cathedral known for its Hereford Mappa Mundi.
Here is Hereford Cathedral known for its Hereford Mappa Mundi.
That said, after I visited Hereford Cathedral and found out that there was Hereford Mappa Mundi. (R knew that, but ...)
The Hereford Mappa Mundi is my kind of favourite world, and I felt very pleased to visit Hereford.

2) B&B : Brandon Lodge
B&B の "Brandon Lodge" に2泊しました。
We have stayed for two nights in "Brandon Lodge".

ヘレフォードの地図
B&Bの壁にヘレフォードのマップがありました。 ちょっと驚いたのが、そのマップにこのB&Bが載っているのです。 特別に作ったのですね。 Map of Hereford
There is a map of Hereford on the B & B wall.
What surprised me was that this B & B was on the map.
They made it specially.

到着日、玄関からここを通って、部屋へ行きました。
ヘレフォード図(複製) が飾ってありますが、
初めて通った時は気がつきませんでした。

although I didn't notice the first time I passed.

このB&Bは、空間の作り方、利用の仕方が、上手だなと思いました。
I thought that this B & B was good at creating and using space.

| 容器入りのミルクが苦手な私達のために オーナーさんは普通のミルクをピッチャーに入れて持ってきてくれました。 ありがとうございました。 For us who are not good at containerized milk,
the owner brought ordinary milk in a pitcher.
Thank you very much.

2日間の朝食 / Two Breakfasts

| 朝食は本館で食べます。 We had breakfast in the main building.  |

| Rは、メインの朝食の前に両日ポリッジ (オートミール) も食べました。 Twice R ate porridge before the main breakfast.  Rの2日目のオートミール R's Second 
私は2日めの朝は、ポリッジをいただきました。

バー / Bar

私は利用しませんでしたがRは1度、ビールをここで飲みました。
彼は運転するので、ヘレフォードで夕飯を食べた時に 飲めないので、このバーを利用しました。 私は彼がバーに居る間にベッドで、夢の中...。
I did not use it although R drank beer here once.
He used this bar because he drove and
couldn't drink when we had dinner in Hereford.
I was already dreaming in bed while he was in the bar ...

ここがちょっと中心から離れているのが難点です。
車があれば、大したことはない距離です。
The drawback is that this is a bit off centre.
With a car, it's an alright distance.

なかなか良いB&Bでした。
Rが良いなら、ヘレフォードに行くなら、ここをまた利用したいです。
It was a good B & B.
If R is OK and we go to Hereford next, I would like to use here again.
