アトリエ・キカ (Atelier Kika)で、知人で英国人のジョージ(George)のグループ展があり、姉Yと出かけました。公式サイト : ★
アトリエ・キカへは、鎌倉宮の前にあるので、通常鎌倉駅から鎌倉宮(大塔宮)行きのバスを利用します。

Walking
I and my sister, Y went out for a group exhibition in Atelier Kika where a British man, George, who I knew, had his group exhibition.
Instead, on this day, we walked to a cafe which is close to Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine,
and we looked at "Lantern Festival" : "Bonbori matsuri" in the Shrine, on our way to Atelier Kika.

清泉小学校 / Seisen Primary School

| 鶴岡八幡宮の東門から出た道は 清泉小学校沿いの道に続いています。 The path from Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine's East Gate
goes past Seisen Primary School.

| 小学校の校庭にひときわ高く咲く花 (?) がありました。 There were flowers (?) blooming high in the primary schoolyard.  名前はわかりません。 サボテンの一種でしょうか？ I do not know the name. Is it a kind of cactus? |

| 芙蓉(フヨウ)の花も咲いていました。 鎌倉ではよく見かけますが暑くて撮影する気力がなく 今夏、このときだけ撮影しました。 Flowers of Hibiscus mutabilis were also blooming. I often see them in Kamakura but it was hot and I did not have the energy to photograph any other this summer. |

| この小学校では鎌倉の観光を考える課題を出して地域を知ることや 地域への奉仕、創意工夫を学んでいるようです。 This primary school has this display which shows their subject,
about sightseeing in Kamakura.
It seems that they are learning about the area and giving a service to the public,
which is creative and shows their effort.
箱から自由にチラシを持って行くことができます。
We can take a leaflet freely from the boxes.
 I felt that the contents of education have evolved (?) compared to when I was in primary school. |
2) アトリエ・キカ / Atelier Kika
ジョージ(Geroge)のグループ展が開催されているアトリエ・キカは、以前、二階堂に住んでいた時から知っていました。
アトリエ・キカでいくつかグラスも購入しています。
オーナーのMさんは、私が鎌倉で個展をしたときにいらしていただきました。
私にとって、アトリエ・キカは近いしい感じがします。

The group exhibition was held by three people, including George, in Atelier Kika which I had known since I lived in Nikaido, Kamakura.
Previously I had bought some glasses in Atelier Kika.
When
I had my exhibition elsewhere in Kamakura, the owner, M San, visited the
exhibition.
I
feel Atelier Kika is familiar.

グループ展DM
DMに描かれた絵に惹かれました。
ジョージのサインがあったので、ジョージの手によるものだと思い、
ジョージすごい！と感動しました。
ジョージは大学で英語を教えつつアート作品も制作しています。
ですがユニークなその絵は
彼のパートナーのHideko(微子)さんが描いていました。
'Hideko'
のサインもDMにあったのですが、絵の一部に見え、
私が
"微子"という漢字をヒデコと読むことができず
彼女がグループ展の一員であることに気がついたのは
帰宅後でした！

for the Group Exhibition
I
was drawn to the picture drawn in DM.
I
thought that it was due to George's hand because his autograph
is there
so I was impressed, "George
is great!".
George
teaches English in a university as well as makes his art works.
However, it was his
partner Hideko (微子) who drew the unique picture.
Although Hideko's autograph was there,
it
seemed to be a part of the drawing
and I could not read the Kanji : 微子 as being her name.
So, I only realized that she was a member of the group
exhibition

会場 / Venue
会場でDMに描かれたタイプの作品を探しましたが見つかりませんでした。
描き手のHidekoさんも参加されていましたが、彼女にとってDMの絵は落書き感覚のもので、本来の作品は会場に展示されていたものだそうです。
その作品も悪くはなく、他の二人の作品も素敵でしたが、'DMの絵' を求めていた私は、グループ展に戸惑いを感じました。
会場に、Hidekoさんの絵本が売られていたのでそれを買いました。
I looked for a work of type drawn on DM at the venue, but I could not find it.
Hideko, who drew the picture on the DM, also participated in the Exhibition, although I heard that for her, the DM picture was just doodling and that her real works were displayed there.
Her works in the Exhibition were not bad and the works of the other two were lovely however, I felt perplexed about the Exhibition, because I had strongly expected to see works similar to the DM picture.

There was a picture book by Hideko on sale in the Exhibition and I bought the book.
 Hidekoさんの絵本 : ★
最初、主人公は何かを他に求めてばかりいましたが、
やがて自分を見つめ、自分を愛すべきことに気づき
自分が何かを差し出す存在になります.. というのが私の解釈です。
To begin with the main character only asked for thing to be given to him.
Later he reviewed himself, and realized he should love himself.
After this he becomes someone who will give presents to others...
this is my understanding.

絵は、まったりカフェで得られる心地よさがあります。
見ている者を包み込み、浸透していゆく感じがします。
それは心の傷を癒すような....
作者の優しさが素直に表現されてると思います。
The
pictures give a easy-going feeling similar to the comfort
we might find in a mattari (relaxing) cafe.
They
envelop viewers and I feel that they are penetrating.
This seems to heal the wounds of the heart ....
I think that the kindness of the artist is expressed naturally.  裏表紙 / Back Cover  |
ジョージの作品
ジョージのセンスは面白く好きでしたが
ちょっと価格が私には高く、最小作品しか買えませんでした。
ジョージは既成概念に縛られることを嫌うのだと感じます。
George's Work
I liked George 's sense, it is interesting
although the prices were a little high for me,
so only the smallest works could be bought.
I feel George dislikes being constrained by preconceived ideas.

素敵な絵本と彼の作品を会場で買いましたが、なんとなく展覧会については残念な気持ちが残ってしまいました。
I bought the lovely picture book and his work in the venue but somehow I felt something disappointing about the exhibition.
