天岩戸神社 

 Amanoiwato-jinja : Amanoiwato Shrine

天岩戸神社 (アマノイワトジンジャ) は、宮崎県高千穂町にある神社です。

日本神話 (日本書紀, 720  / 古事記, 712) のひとつ、弟のスサノオ (建速須佐之男命) の所業に怒り、天岩戸に太陽神である天照大神(アマテラスオオミカミ)が隠れ、世界が真っ暗になってしまったというお話は、日本では有名です。

天照大神が隠れた天岩戸の '岩戸隠れの伝説'の舞台がここにはあります。

岩戸川を挟んで東本宮と西本宮があり、私達が訪ねたのは西本宮です。

Amanoiwato-jinja

Amanoiwato-jinja is a Shinto shrine located in Takachiho, Miyazaki prefecture.

The Shrine has two places : Higashi-no-Miya ; East Shrine and Nishi-no-Miya ; West Shrine.

We visited Nishi-no-Miya ; West Shrine.

The shrine is dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu and sits above the valley containing Ama-no-Iwato, the cave where, according to Japanese Myth, the goddess hid after battle with her brother, plunging the world into darkness until lured out by the spirit of merriment Ame-no-Uzume.

山門から拝殿を見る

西本宮拝殿の裏側に天岩戸を見る場所があり、
そこには神職さんが案内してくれます。
逆に言うと、神職さんなしでは行くことができません。

また、その場所は撮影禁止です。

From Gate to Main Building
There is a viewpoint for Ama-no-Iwato behind this shrine,

a shinto priest takes us there.

In other words, without the priest we could not go there.
There is no photography.

'岩戸開き'のお話に出てくる鏡が出てきます。

The disc is a mirror, because the Myth has a mirror

when Amaterasu comes out from the cave.

高天原 (タカマガハラ) / Takama-ga-hara : a Valley

'パワースポット'と言われている橋

どこぞの有名な霊能者がここが一番パワーがあると言って有名になったそうな...

でも、ここよりも他の場所 (下の写真) のほうが私は何かを感じました。

Taiko-bashi : Drum Bridge
They say this bridge is a 'Power Spot'.

I heard that Mr. Nobody, who is a popular psychic said 

'Here is the strongest power spot'.

However, I had felt more in other places (below photographs) than I did here.

神様が住んでいたという神話の舞台の高天原。他にも日本各地に候補地があります。

その話は、べつにして、ここには何かある！と確かに思わせてくれます。

Japanese Myth says Gods used to live here, it is called Takama-ga-hara,

although there are a few other proposed sites in Japan.  Well, it does not matter to me whether  true or not.  Anyway, here definitely let me feel something special.

観光客達がたくさん訪れているでしょうに、未だに'この何か'を持ち続けているパワーがすごいと思います。

Even though many tourists come here, still here has 'something'. I think it is great.

天安河原  (アマノヤスハラ)

大洞窟 : 仰慕ヶ窟（ギョウボガイワ)

天安河原には、徒歩でしか行くことができません。

天安河原は、八百萬 (ヤオヨロズ) の神々が集まり相談をし、
天鈿女命 (アメノウズメ)が踊って隠れた天照大神をおびきだすことを
決めた場所です。

Big Cave / Gyoubogaiwa

We can only visit here on foot.

They say here was the meeting place of Gods 
when Amaterasu hid in a different cave with a rock door.

天安河原宮
大洞窟 : 仰慕ヶ窟の中にあります。
祈願を行う人たちの手によって石が積まれています。
私は、こういう雰囲気がちょっと苦手です。

Amanogahara-Gu / Amanogadara Shrine
The Shrine is in the  Big Cave :  Gyoubogaiwa.Many prayers put a stone on stones.
I am a little weak about this atmosphere.

これは比較的大丈夫。

This is relatively ok for me.

高天原の雰囲気が味わえたことが、私にはここでは一番良かったことでした。

It was the best for me I could have the atmosphere of this valley : 'Takama-ga-hara'.
