"結婚10周年アートの旅" をしました。
このセクションは、栗林公園 (南庭) についてです。

10th Wedding Anniversary Art Trip, 6th of February
6th -12th of February 2023
February 14th was our wedding anniversary, 
and my husband R and I had 
 a "10th wedding anniversary art trip".
This section is about Ritsurin Garden (South Garden).

"初期に築庭された南湖一帯は、設計・名付けにおいて中国の神仙思想 (シンセンシソウ) が強く反映されました。

楓の島「楓嶼（ふうしょ）」、

シンパクや赤松の古木が配された「天女嶋（てんにょとう）」、

ツツジの見事な「杜鵑嶼（とけんしょ）」

など、神々や仙人の住む不老不死の理想郷を表したものとされています。

とりわけ、黄金に輝くようにも見える「仙磯（せんぎ）」は、南湖の中心点として景色を引き締める役割もある重要な島とされています。"

下記、神仙思想について (正倉院展用語解説のサイトより)

"不老不死の神仙（仙人）となって神仙の住まう理想世界に住むことを希求する思想。

神仙世界は海上や山中の異境として表され、中国美術における重要な主題となった。"

南湖の南側の歩道 : '楓岸' (フウガン/ 地図⑳) を歩いて、
吹上亭方面へ向かいました。
右に、掬月亭が見えます。

We walked along the path : 'Fugan' (Map ⑳)
on the south side of Nanko Pond,
 heading towards Suijotei.
 'Fugan' means 'Maple Shore'.
I could see Kikugetsutei Tea House on the right.

Nanko Pond 

According to their website bout the Nanko Pond : South Pond,

(translated by me)

"The early gardens around Nanko Pond strongly reflected Chinese ideas of immortality : 'shinsen shisō' in their design and naming. 

Maple Island : Foushou, Ten-nyo-to Island : Angel Island 

with its ancient Chinese cypress and red pine trees, and Tokensho Island with its splendid azaleas are all said to represent the utopia of immortality where gods and immortals live. 

In particular, Sengi Island, which appears to shine golden, is considered an important island as it is the centre of Nanko Pond and tightens the scenery."

Sukagetsutei Tea House on the left,

'一歩一景' を感じます。
I feel as if here is 'One Step, One View'.

迎春橋 
迎春橋 (ゲイシュンバシ) は、南湖の北東にあります。
和船はこの橋の下を潜ります。

Geishun Bridge
Geishunbashi Bridge is located in the northeast of Nanko Pond.
The Japanese boat passes under the Bridge.

リフレクションが綺麗です。
The reflection is beautiful.

南湖上を東から西へ撮影しています。

This video was filmed from east to west over Nanko Pond.

南湖に紫雲山が映っています。
Mt .Shiun is reflected in the Nanko Pond.

杜鵑嶼
ツツジの島、杜鵑嶼 (トケンショウ)。
花の季節ではないけれど、手入れが
よくされているのがわかります。

Tokensho Island
Tokensho Island, the island of azaleas.
Although it's not the season for flowers, 
I can see that they are well cared for.

偃月橋 
偃月橋 (エンゲツキョウ) は、修復というよりも、新築中？
弓張り月(半月)が湖面に影を映す姿から名付けられたどうです。
残念ながら私達はその姿を見ることはできませんでした。

Engetsu-kyo Bridge
Engetsu means present moon in Japanese.
Kyo or Hashi means bridge in Japanese.
Is Engetsukyo Bridge being newly built rather than restored?
I heard it got its name from the way the half moon reflects
 its shadow on the lake's surface.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to see it.

右に吹上亭
吹上亭 (フキアゲテイ)の奥(裏手)に吹上があります。
吹上亭は、食事ができ、お土産も買えます。
私達は時間がないので、寄りませんでした。

Fukiage-tei on the Right
Fukiage is located behind Fukiagetei.
You can have a meal at Fukiagetei and buy souvenirs.
We didn't have time so we didn't stop by.

This is the water source for Ritsurin Garden.

飛来峰から / From Mt. Hirai

パンフレットの表紙に使用されている景色は、
ここから撮影されたものです。
ですが、偃月橋が工事中であったことと日暮に近く明るさが
たりなかったので、'園内随一のビューポイント' の
域には達しませんでした。
'次回をお楽しみに' ということですね。

The view used on the cover of the leaflet was taken from here.

However, because Engetsu-kyo Bridge was under construction 

and it was close to sunset and there wasn't enough light,

it didn't qualify as 'the best viewpoint in the park'.

I could say 'stay tuned for next time'.

7) 4つのセクション / 4 Sections

栗林公園については、4つのセクションに分けました。

それよって、説明が重複しています。

さいごまで読んでくださった親切な方々、ありがとうございました。

栗林公園は、丸一日時間をかけて見ることが望ましいと感じます。

次の機会があれば、そうしたいと思います。

和船にも乗ってみたいです。

本当に素敵な庭でした。

2月の閉園時間は17:30。
私達が通用門を出たのは、17:30前頃でした。

Closing time in February is 17:30.
We left the Tsuyo-mon Gate just before 17:30.

4 Sections 

I have divided Ritsurin Garden into 4 sections.

As a result, there is some duplication in the explanations.

Thank you to all the kind people who read to the end.

I think it's best to spend an entire day enjoying Ritsurin Garden.

I'd like to do that next time I have the opportunity.

I would also like to get on a Japanese boat.

It was a truly beautiful garden.
