1) 波止場町 / Hatoba-cho
'旧居留地 (キュウ キョウリュウチ)' へと移動しました。
(正確にいうと、メリケンパークも波止場町に含まれます。)
旧居留地とは、かつて主に '安政五カ国条約 (1858)' により外国の
治外法権 (チガイホウケン) が及んでいたことのある区域を指します。
このエリア: '神戸外国人居留地' (コウベガイコクジンキョリュウチ) は、異国情緒が残り、神戸の観光ポイントの1つです。
今日のランチは、私達は、'旧居留地十五番館' の建物で営業しているレストラン "TOOTH TOOTH maition 15th'' で、別の友人Mととる予定です。
Mとは、ランチ時に現地集合の約束をしていました。
Hatoba-cho
My friend Izu and I moved from Meriken Park to Hatoba-cho : Town name in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture and the 'Kyu-kyoryuchi' (Former Foreign Settlement). [Hatoba means Wharf in Japanese]
(To be precise, Meriken Park is included in Hatoba-cho.)
The Former Foreign Settlement refers to the area where foreign countries once had extraterritorial rights, mainly due to the 'Ansei Treaty (1858)'.
This area : 'Kobe Foreign Settlement' retains an exotic atmosphere and is one of Kobe's tourist spots.
Today, we had a plan which we would have our lunch at the restaurant "TOOTH TOOTH maition 15th'' located in the building "Former Foreign Settlement No.15" another friend M.
We had made an arrangement with M to meet at the location during lunch time.

前述した '旧居留地十五番館' 、海岸ビル、商船三井ビルディング (ショウセンミツイビルディング)、神港ビル (シンコウビル)、神戸朝日ビルディングなどです。

Heritage of Industrial Modernization
There are several buildings designated as modern industrial heritage sites on Kaigan-street in Chuo Ward.
These include the aforementioned 'Former Foreign Settlement Building No. 15', Kaigan Building, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Building, Shinko Building, and Kobe Asahi Building.
