1) ミニトマト / Mini Tomato

ミニトマト
実が大きくなってきました。

Mini Tomato
The fruits are getting bigger.

宝石のようなトマト
お店のミニトマトは複数が一緒に売られています。
一枝に10個くらい実をつけることを想像していましたが、
1つ ~ 3つしか生りません。
'成る' ではなく、'生る' のだと初めて知りました。
知ってましたか？

Jewel-like Tomatoes
A few mini tomatoes in a shop are sold together.
I imagined that one branch would have about 10 fruits,
 but only one to three would grow here.

4鉢に1つづつ苗を植えています。
それぞれの育ち方がずいぶんと違うので面白いな〜
と思いつつ観察しています。
バジルと相性が良いと聞いたので、3鉢にバジルも植えています。
今のところ、違いがわかりません。
でもバジルはお料理に役立ってくれています。

We are planting one seedling in each of the four pots.

I'm observing while thinking that it's interesting 

because each way of growing up is quite different.

I heard that it goes well with basil, so we also planted basil in three pots.

For now, I don't see the difference.

But basil is useful for cooking.

2) ハーブは庭から / Herbs from Garden 

桃と生ハムの冷製パスタ
Youtube : ★で、冷製ピーチパスタの作り方を見ました。
夫Rは、基本的に、冷たいパスタ料理が嫌いです。
生ハムも好きではありません。
ですが大好きな桃を使っているので、'これ' ならOKかもと思い、
彼にもその動画を見せました。
「美味しそうだ」
と言うので、彼用にアレンジして作ってみました。

Cold Pasta with Peach and Prosciutto

I saw how to make cold peach pasta in Youtube : ★ only in Japanese.

My husband R basically doesn't like cold pasta dishes.

He also doesn't like prosciutto.

However, since the recipe uses his favourite Japanese peach, 

I thought it would be OK if it was 'this', I showed him the video as well.

He said

"It looks good!"

So I planned it for him and made it.

生ハムは日本製(鎌倉ハム)なので、穏やかな塩気です。
彼には2枚使用し、私には8枚!
写真は私のお皿、生ハムでおおわれて
美味しそうには見えませんね？
スペアミントは庭からです。
美味しくできました。
まあ、私よりも彼の方が気に入ってました。
とにかく、よかった！

Prosciutto ham is made in Japan (by 'Kamakura Ham'), 

so it has a mild saltiness.

I used 2 for him and 8 for me!

The photograph shows my plate which is covered with prosciutto, 

and doesn't look delicious, does it?

Spearmints are from our garden.

Deliciously done.

Well, he liked this better than I did.

Anyway, it was good!

わんぱくサンドイッチ
昨年からRが気に入っている、わんぱくサンドイッチ。
彼にはよく作りますが私は食べません。
この日、初めて牛肉を使用してみました。
1つにはスペアミント、1つにはバジルを隠し味程度に使いました。
トマトは残念ながら買ったものです。
Rは牛肉の具を気に入ったようで、美味しそうに食べてました。
食べられないものが多いので、食べてくれるとほっとします。
トマトは残念ながら、このトマトは買ったものです。

Naughty Sandwich

 R has been fond of Naughty Sandwiches since last year.

I make them often for him, but I don't eat.

I tried using beef for the first time on this day.

I used spearmint for one and basil for one, as a secret ingredient.

Unfortunately these tomatoes are not ours, I bought them.

R seemed to like the beef ingredients and he ate it deliciously.

There are many things he can't eat, so if he eats them, I could be relieved.

パウンドケーキ
久しぶりにパウンドケーキを作りました。
いろいろな材料を使用しています。
その1つは以前、Rと一緒に作った
ひょう柑 (弓削瓢柑 / ユゲヒョウカン) のジャムです。
ひょう柑は、グレープフルーツと甘夏の間のような果物です。
最近作った杏ジャムも入っています。

Pound Cake

I made pound cakes for the first time in a long time.

I use various ingredients.

One of them is a Hyokan (Yugehyokan) jam that

 I made with R before.

I think Hyokan is a fruit between Grapefruit and Amanatsu.

The cakes also contain apricot jam that I made recently.

Serve with Spearmint

甘いものをたいして好まない私がこのケーキは食べます。
甘さと、具材のバランスが好きです。
けれでもやっぱり、Rの方が私よりもよく食べます。
時々彼はクロテッドクリームやジャム、両方をつけて食べています。

I don't like sweets so much, but I eat this cake.

I like the balance of ingredients and its sweetness. 

But after all, R eats more than me.

Sometimes he eats with clotted cream or jam or both.

ナデシコ
ナデシコ(撫子)は春に咲きました。
もう花のシーズンは終わりかと思っていましたが、また咲き始めました。
今回の方が元気に数も多く咲いています。
嬉しい！

Dianthus

Dianthus bloomed in spring.

I thought the flower season was over, but it started to bloom again.

This time, it is more vigorously and its number is bigger.

野球 ; 白いボールを追って
Rがメロンを繊細に9つに分けてくれました。
'9' から野球を連想し、
そこから高校野球、高校球児を思い浮かべました。
2020オリンピックが始まりつつあり、甲子園もやってきますね〜....

According to Wiki about Japanese High School Baseball

In Japan, Kōshien (甲子園) generally refers to the two annual baseball tournaments played by high schools nationwide culminating at a final showdown at Hanshin Kōshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Japan. 

They are organized by the Japan High School Baseball Federation in association with Mainichi Shimbun for the National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament in the spring (also known as "Spring Kōshien") and Asahi Shimbun for the National High School Baseball Championship in the summer (also known as "Summer Kōshien").

"Summer Koshien" (夏の甲子園, Natsu no Kōshien), is an annual nationwide high school baseball tournament.

 It is the largest scale amateur sport event in Japan."

5) 今、このとき / Treasure This Moment, Now

5月末に、とても美しい夕焼けを見ました(下記)。

2021年5月28日 夕焼け / Sunset, 28th of May, 2021

私は出不精なので、夕焼けが綺麗だと感じた時でも、それを見るために家から出ることはしません。

せいぜい、庭から眺めていました。

5月末の夕焼けは、窓にピンクの光がさしたとき、

「今日の夕焼けは綺麗に違いない！」

とすぐさま感じ、外出しました。

これは、とても珍しいことでした。

昨年、今年と運動不足解消のために以前よりも散歩に出るようになっていたので、どこから夕焼けを見ると綺麗かの想像がつき、その場所へ向かいました。

7月16日、この日の夕焼けもとても綺麗でしたが気が付くのが遅れ、5月と同じ場所で撮影しましたが、日暮れが進んでいました。

まあ、それでも、心を潤すには十分な美を与えてくれました。

Now, At This Moment

At the end of May, I saw a very beautiful sunset, below.

2021年5月28日 夕焼け / Sunset, 28th of May, 2021

I'm a stay-at-home, so even when I felt the sunset was beautiful, I hadn't left our house to see it.

At best, I was looking at it from our garden.

The sunset at the end of May was when the pink light shines on the window,

immediately I felt

"Today's sunset must be beautiful!"

and went out.

This was very rare.

Last year and this year, I started taking a walk more than before, to solve my lack of exercise, so I could imagine where to look at the sunset and headed to that place.

16th of July, the sunset on that day was also very beautiful, but I was late noticing it, so I photographed it form the same place as in May, but the sunset was fading.

Well, it still gave me enough beauty to enrich my heart.

なんでもない風景も夕焼けが美しいとドラマティックです。
Even a plain view is dramatic when the sunset is beautiful.

 今、このとき
いつだって、 '今、このとき' だけれど、
夕焼けや朝焼けを見るときには一層
 '今、このとき' を感じます。

'Treasure This Moment, Now'
Life is always 'Treasure This Moment, Now', 
but when I see the sunset or sunrise,
I feel 'Treasure This Moment, Now' more strongly.

もうすぐ光が姿を消します....

八岐大蛇
私の中では、この木はすでに '八岐大蛇' (ヤマタノロチ) と
名付けられています。
夕焼けが背景になるとますますドラゴン化します。
この場所の夕焼けが最も好きです。

Yamata no Orochi 

To me, this tree is already called 'Yamata no Orochi'.

Yamata no Orochi is a legendary eight-headed 

and eight-tailed Japanese dragon.

It becomes much more 'dragon' 

when the sunset is in the background.

I like the sunset here the most.

炎が燃えているように見えます。
It looks like the flames are burning.

夕焼けと木々のハーモニー
Harmony of Sunset and Trees

和風のお宅の松がオブジェのようです。
Pine trees in this Japanese-style garden are like objects.

近所のブックカフェ
すでに閉まっていますがライティングが綺麗です。
この家からの夕焼けはきっと極上ものです。
