昨年、英国人の夫Rは初めて日本の夏を経験しました。
ブルーベリーの実がなる時期も初めて経験しました。
小鳥達が実を食べるのは許容範囲ですが、ここ数年で数が増えたリスはかなり食べてしまうのです。
そして彼はブルーベリーの実を巡って、箒を持ちながら、複数のリスと戦いを繰り広げたのです (笑)。
今年、彼はブルーベリーの実を守る網の購入を希望し、私達は購入しました。
彼曰く、庭の中で、ブルーベリーが一番好きなのだそうです。
収穫した実から、私はジャムを作り、そのジャムも彼のお気に入りなのです。

First Stage
Last year, my British husband R experienced Japan's summer for the first time.
He also experienced the blueberry fruiting season for the first time.
It's acceptable for small birds to eat, but squirrels, which have grown in number over the last few years, eat quite a lot.
He then fought with a few squirrels over the blueberry fruit, holding a broom (Laugh).
This year he wanted to buy a net to protect the blueberry fruit and we did.
He says he likes the blueberry bush the most in the garden.
From the harvested fruit, I make jam, which is also his favourite.

| 組み立て後 まだ最後のポールを留めていず、完成させていません。 今のままでは実を守り切ることができません。 なぜなら、セットの網だけでは、横からも簡単に入れて しまいますし、網の目も荒いからです。 新たに目の細かい網を購入し、それを設置する際にポールも 完全に止めることにしました。 After Framework We haven't attached the last two poles completely yet. It is not possible to protect the fruit as it is. The reason is that this net set can be easily entered from the sides, and the mesh is large. We bought a new fine mesh net and decided to fix the poles completely when installing the net.  |

| ドラゴン・ゲート (5月23日) 網目が細かいネットを買い、設置しました。 自分たちが収穫する時の入り口には 自作の 'ホワイト・ドラゴン' のタイルを重しとして置きました。 作業をしている間に1枚落として割ってしまいました。 (すでにヒビが入っていました） ですがそのおかげで、'ドラゴン・ゲート'の アイディアを得たのです。 Dragon Gate (23rd of May) We bought a net with a fine mesh and installed it. At the entrance for picking, we weighted the net down with my own 'White Dragon' tiles. I dropped one and broke it while I was working. (It was already cracked.) But thanks to that, I got the idea of 'Dragon Gate'.  ホワイト・ドラゴン このタイルは英国留学前に作ったものです。 タイルの裏には溝があり、壁掛けできるようになっています。 制作は恵比寿の陶芸教室、'イエロークレイ' でしました。 斎藤先生にはとても助けていただきました。 ありがとうございました。 White Dragon These tiles were made before studying in Britain. 'Shigaraki Soil' is used, and 'Shino Glaze' is used for the glaze. There is a groove on the back of the tiles so that they can be hung on a wall. I made them in a ceramics lesson class, 'Yellow Clay' in Ebisu, Tokyo. Saito Sensei helped me a lot. Thank you very much.  |
このドラゴンのタイルは、
'ドラゴン・タイル・シリーズ' ('ホワイト・ドラゴン'、他) として作り
"Coonie's Dragon 2003" (ピンポイントギャラリー) に展示しました。
写真の2点のドラゴンのタイルは、表面にヒビが入っていたので展示しませんでした。
The dragon tiles were made as part of
'Dragon Tile Series' ('White Dragon', etc.) and exhibited in
"Coonie's Dragon 2003" (Pinpoint Gallery, Tokyo).
The two dragon tiles in the photo were cracked on the surface and so were not exhibited.

| 後方より 重しには、枝と破損した鉢を用いています。 左右の下のポールの高さはRの意向で変えています。 なぜかはわかりません。 From Back For the weight, we use branches and damaged pots. The height of the lower left and right poles is different according to R's intention. I don't know why. |

| 枝と鉢の重し オーガニックな重しと人工的なポールやネットが オブジェのように感じます。 Branch and Pot Weights Organic weights and artificial poles and nets make me feel this is an objet.  この部分が結構好きです。 I quite like this part. |

| 乾杯！ さてさて、私達のネットはブルーベリーを 守ってくれるでしょうか？ とにかく、完成したのでお祝いにビールを飲みました。 Cheers! Well, will our net protect blueberries? Anyway, it was completed, so we drank beer to celebrate. |
