1) 開館 / Opening

ミッフィー (うさこちゃん)  / Miffy の創作者は、ユトレヒト生まれの ディック・ブルーナ (1927 – 2017) です。

日本では、福音館書店から、正方形のミッフィーの絵本がたくさん出されています。

日本では特に人気がありますが、絵本は世界中で出版され、関連グッズも販売され、ミッフィーはブルーナ に巨額の富を与えました。

2006年2月18日に、ユトレヒトのセントラル博物館 / Centraal Museum の一部として、ディック・ブルーナ・ハウス / (dick bruna huis) がオープンしました。

2015年にミッフィー博物館 : 幼児や未就学児向けの子供博物館 に改名されました。

幼児や未就学児向けの子供博物館ではあるものの、大人である、私と夫Rも 、この日、見学時間を予約して、訪ねました。

Opening
Miffy's creator was Dick Bruna (1927 – 2017) who was born in Utrecht.

In Japan, Fukuinkan Shoten Publisher has published many square Miffy picture books.

Though particularly popular in Japan, his picture books and related goods have been published and sold around the world, and Miffy had given Bruna a huge fortune.

Dick "Bruna House / dick bruna huis" opened on February 18, 2006 as part of Centraal Museum in Utrecht.

In 2015, it was converted to the Miffy Museum : a children's museum for toddlers and preschoolers.

It is a children's museum for toddlers and preschoolers, and although I and my husband R are adults, we booked a visiting time on that day and visited.

彼のグラフィック作品の概要に加えて、

子供たちが絵を描いたり工芸をしたりできる場所でもあります。

ブルーナは7000以上の展示物を貸し出しました。

展示物の選択は、博物館の展示方針で変えられます。

Children's museum for Toddlers
In addition to an overview of his graphic work, 

it is a place where children can draw and do crafts.

Bruna loaned more than 7000 objects to this Museum.

A selection of these is presented in changing exhibitions in the Museum.

2) 触って / Touch

展示が工夫され、ただ見るだけでなく、例えば、触って、発見してという遊びの要素を取り入れていました。

私は、この展示はとても楽しかったです。

The exhibits have some kind of feature, for example,  incorporating elements of play, not only to be looked at, but to touch and discover.

I enjoyed these displays very much.

蓋を開けたり、戸棚を開けたりして展示物を見つけます。

それぞれの戸棚によって、壁にも違う絵が描かれています。

1951年から1972年

ブルーナが本の表紙を主に仕事をしていた時の作品群。
私は、この作品群も好きです。
当時、ブルーナは推理小説の本を多く手がけていたと聞いています。

Works when Bruna worked mainly on book covers.

I like these works, too.
 I heard that Bruna had worked on many book covers of mystery novels at the time.

壁に明らかな絵がないけれど、額入りの絵が飾られています。

その絵の撮影を忘れました。

壁に何もないようですが、小さくブルーのドレスを着たミッフィーがいます。

これはこの壁紙のデザインで、気をつけてみると

オレンジ色のドレスのミッフィもいます。

There is no obvious picture on the wall, but a framed picture is hung on the wall.

I forgot to photograph the picture.

There seems to be nothing on the wall, but there is a small Miffy in a blue dress.

This is in the design of this wallpaper, and if you look carefully at the wallpaper, 

there are also Miffys in orange dresses.

マチス

左上の本の表紙に、アンリ・マティス (1869 -1 954)

へのオマージュが感じられます。

ブルーナーは多くのアーティストの影響を受けましたが、

最も大きな影響はマチスからと言われています。

この本は『うさこちゃん、びじゅつかんへゆく』で、
その表紙の絵ですからマチスへの思いがわかるというものです。

Matisse
On the top left book cover I can see Homage to Henri Matisse (1869 -1 954).

Bruna was influenced by many artists, 

but it is said that the greatest influence was from Matisse.

This book is "miffy at the gallery ", and the picture is its cover 

so we can understand his feelings for Matisse.

他にも体を具体的に動かす遊びが用意されています。

There are other games that specifically need us to move our body.

ミッフィーがハンドル付きの台に立っています。
そのハンドルを回すと、赤いボールが上下します。

床にはマップ。

運河らしい青いラインが描かれているので、ユトレヒトのマップでしょうか？

赤いボールには、地図との関係で、何か意味があるように思いますが

私にはわかりません。

Red Ball and Map

Miffy stands up on the stage with handle.

When you turn the handle, the red ball goes up and down.
Map on the floor.
Is it a map of Utrecht because the canal-like blue lines are drawn?

I think the red ball has some meanings related to do with the map, 

but I don't know.

3) ボジョボジョ / Shiver

ブルーナのキャラクターたちは、全て黒い輪郭線で描かれます。

この輪郭線は、均一な太さにむえますが、かすかに、'ボジョボジョ' しています。

私は、'ボジョボジョ' と表現しますが、ブルーナ自身は、"震え"/ "shiver"と呼んでいます。

彼の筆のラインは故意的にこの"震え"を作り出しているのです。

Characters of Bruna are all drawn with black outlines.

These contour lines have a uniform thickness, but are slightly 'bojobojo'.

I describe it as 'bojobojo', but Bruna himself called it a "shiver".

His brush lines intentionally created this "shiver".

4) メルシス社 / Mercis

A. 独立 / Independence
1971年、ブルーナは、アムステルダムに彼の著作権を管理するメルシス社 / Mercis bv を友人のピーター・ブラティンガ / Pieter Brattinga (1931 -2004), とともに設立しました。

ブラティンガは、グラフィックデザイナーで、1960年から1964年の間、NYのブルックリンにあるプラット大学 / Pratt Institute のビジュアルコ・ミュニケーション学部の教授兼会長でした。

ブルーナは、創作に専念したいとの思いから、1975年に "ブルーナ社"( "A.W. Bruna & Zoon")を退職します。

"ブルーナ社" は、家族経営の出版会社です。

彼は、ピーター・ブラティンガによる世界的なマーチャンダイジングのおかげで、百万長者になりました。

独立後、彼は、子供向けのあらゆる種類の慈善団体向けにポスターやその他の販促資料をデザインしました。

Independence

In 1971, he founded Mercis bv ; Dick's copyright management company, in Amsterdam, with his friend Pieter Brattinga (1931-2004). 

Pieter Brattinga was a graphic designer who was professor and chairman at the visual communications faculty at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York from 1960 to 1964. 

Bruna retired from "Bruna" in 1975 because he wanted to concentrate on his creative work.

"Bruna" : "A.W. Bruna & Zoon" is the family-owned publishing company.

He had become a millionaire, thanks to worldwide merchandising by Pieter Brattinga.

After independence, he designed posters and other promotional materials for all kinds of charities for children.

60周年記念のミッフィー

2015年にミッフィー誕生、60周年を迎えました。
Miffy celebrated her 60th anniversary in 2015.

日本-オランダ間のフライトの機内販売として、

客室乗務員の制服を着たぬいぐるみを登場させた。

現在もキャンペーンなどでキャラクターとして採用している。"

According to Japanese Wiki, (Translated by me)

"KLM Royal Dutch Airlines - In 2000,
a stuffed animal in a flight attendant uniform appeared

 'Commemorating 400th Anniversary of Japan-Netherlands Friendship',

only as an in-flight sale on flights between Japan and the Netherlands.

It is still used as a character in campaigns."

KLMのほか、日本の多くの企業がミフィーを様々な形で起用してます。

彼が億万長者になるのが容易に想像できます。

In addition to KLM, many Japanese companies use Miffy in various forms.

I can easily imagine him becoming the millionaire.

5) 交通 / Traffic

世界に1つ、公共の場で、ミッフィーの信号機がユトレヒトにあります。
中央駅から私達の宿泊所の間にあったので、複数回みることができました。

Here in Utrecht is the only public place anywhere in the world with Miffy traffic lights.

We were able to see them several times

because they were between our accommodation and the central station.

赤信号 / Red Traffic Light

点滅で待ち時間がある程度予測できます。
The waiting time can be predicted to some extent by flashing.

青信号 / Green Light

可愛い！ / Lovely!

C. 博物館内の交通 / Transportation in Museum

2階の1室には、様々な乗り物が用意されています。

横断歩道や踏切も設定されています。

私はこの部屋で、ちょっと感動！

A variety of vehicles are available in one room on the first floor.

ブルーナのミッフィーと仕事への思いが伝わってくる博物館です。

次のセクションは、セントラル博物館のブルーナの仕事部屋とミッフィー博物館の両方について載せます。

This is a museum where visitors can feel the passion Bruna had for his work and Miffy.

The next section will include both Bruna's studio in Centraal Museum and the Miffy Museum.
