横尾忠則現代美術館は、兵庫県立美術館王子分館[旧兵庫県立近代美術館、
村野藤吾(ムラノトウゴ / 1891 -1984 )氏の設計(★)]の西館をリニューアルし、2012年11月に開館しました。

横尾忠則 (1936 -) 氏は、グラフィックデザイナー、版画家、画家であり、兵庫県
西脇市生まれです。

横尾氏は、アーティストとして有名なだけでなく、霊感が強かったり、UFOの存在を信じていたりし、その方面の著作もしています。

私にとっては、憧れのアーティストで、今回の旅行で、ぜひこの美術館は行きたいと思っていました。

Tadanori Yokoo (1936 -) is a Japanese graphic designer, printmaker and painter and was born in Nishiwaki, Hyōgo Prefecture.

Yokoo is not only famous as an artist but also has a strong inspiration, believes in the existence of UFOs, and also writes in that direction.

For me, my respect artist, I definitely wanted to visit this museum in this trip.

友人と別れ、次の約束までの間に、この美術館を訪れました。
土曜日であったので、20:00まで開いていました。

I parted with my friend and went to this museum before the next appointment.

It was Saturday, so it was open until 20: 00.

会場は2階、3階でした。

2階の会場にはいるとすぐに、ターザンの

「あ〜あ、あ〜あっ！」

という雄叫びに迎えられ、会場滞在中、その雄叫びをずっと聞き続けることになります。

最初は、

「お〜っ、横尾さんらしい...」

と思いましたが、途中からその声がちょっと鬱陶しく感じました。

この鬱陶しい思いを来場者に感じさせることも狙いのひとつなのではないかと思います。

撮影はフラッシュなしでほとんどの場所で許可されていました。

最近は、写真撮影については、このような場所が多くなったように感じます。

The Exhibition was on the first and second floor.

As soon as entering the first floor venue, Tarzan's Call :

"Oh, oh, ah!"

Visitors were greeted and while we stayed there we kept on listening to that shout.

Initially,

"Oh, it seems to be very Yokoo San ..."

I thought, but the voice felt slightly annoying after a while.

I think that making this irritated feeling for the visitors might be one of the aims.

Photography was allowed in most places without flash.

Recently, it seems that there are many such places for photography

横尾さんの作品を直接見るのは本当に久しぶりで、いつが最後だったのか思い出せません。
It really was a long time since I had seen any of Yokoo's work directly and I could not remember the last time.

私が最初に横尾さんの作品に出あったときのイメージに近い、蛍光色の版画 / HANGAの作品群でした。

私の記憶の中では、版画作品のあとには、彼がNYに行き、ニュー・ペインティングの作風に変わったところで終わっています。

この展覧会を見ると、横尾さんは、再び、蛍光色の版画に戻ったような印象を持ちました。

今回の展覧会の趣旨が、タイトルにもあるように、HANGAなので、そういう作品群でまとめられていたせいもきっとありますね。

私としては、彼の版画作品のほうがペインティングよりも好きなので、ラッキーでした。

時間のせいか、会場も私一人の貸切に近く、作品もそこに漂う空気も楽しめました。

彼の丸くならないアートセンスに刺激され、疲労しつつも、いつまでも尖っている横尾さんの作品制作を嬉しく感じました。

There were fluorescent colour prints : HANGA, which were close to my memory of the works I originally saw by Yokoo.

In my memory, after the print work, he went to NY and his work became the 'New Painting Style'.

Looking at this exhibition, my impression was that he had returned to fluorescent colour printing.

The theme of the Exhibition was printing as the exhibition title included HANGA, probably they collected prints from his works so my impression was like that.

I was lucky because I like his print work more than his paintings.

Because of the late time, I felt I was having a private viewing and I also enjoyed the atmosphere there.

横尾さんが親しくしていた、三島由紀夫(1925 -1970)をモティーフにした作品がいくつか見られました。
I saw several works using Yukio Mishima (1925 - 1970) as his motif, who had been close to Yokoo.

新作でしょう。今もって制作しているそのパワーが素晴らしい。

何か買いたい！と思いましたが、どれも個性が強すぎて
へたれの私には選ぶことができませんでした。

I wanted to buy something! I thought, 
but everything was too strong for me who is weak, 
so I could not decide to buy anything.

個展のDMやHPのデザインをしていただいている友人、
Rieさんは横尾さんの大ファンで、彼の作品も持っています。

この旅行中に彼女に合うので、彼女に何かと思いましたが、

それも選べませんでした。

Rie is my friend who has designed

Dms and post-cards for my Exhibitions and my HP.

She is a big fan of Yokoo and has some of his work.

I wanted to buy something here for her

because I would be seeing her in this trip,

although I could not decide what to buy.

世俗のセンスを洗い流すような作品で、特有の美が備わってもいて、私はとても満足しました。

There were works that wash away my worldly senses, even with their unique beauty, I was very satisfied.
