Street'を歩きつつ、北にある中心部へ向かいます。
窓に貼られているポスターに目が行きました。
"CREATIEF
SCHRIJVE "と"SCHERP
JE SCHRIJFTALENT"と
窓に表示されています。
デザインか執筆の学校かもしれません。 |

While walking on 'Waahsekai Street', heading towards the centre in the north,
my eyes were drawn to the posters attached to the window.
"CREATIEF SCHRIJVE" and "SCHERP JE SCHRIJFTALENT"
The display is in the window.
It may be a design or writing school.

この建物は何かしら？と不思議に思いました。
古い門を利用して作ったのか、古い門のように正面を作ったのか...
以前はレストランだったようですが現在は閉店。
I wonder what this building is?
Was it made by using the old gate,
or did they make the facade look like an old gate.
It seems to have been a restaurant in the past but it is now closed.

| 建物正面だけを変えて、店の雰囲気を出すという方法は 日本でもよく見かけますが、これは重厚すぎて、本格的すぎて、 店だけのためとは思えないのですけれど...実際はどうだったのでしょう？ I often see how a facade is changed to make a good atmosphere for a shop, however, this is too heavy, too authentic, I do not think it was changed just for the shop (restaurant) ... Anyway, what was it? |

ピョートル1世像
(一番有名なのは、モスクワの像)
道路が放射線状に広がっているので、ここのような小さな三角の敷地が
結構できるのですね。
どの像を作るかは別にして、その三角地にビルを建てず、
開けておき、'風通し' (具体的、精神的) を良くしているのは素敵だと思います。
Statue
of Peter the Great / Peter I
Peter I (1672 - 1725) is a celebrity, it seems that there are
statues
in
various places. (The most famous is the
statue in Moscow)
The
roads spread radially, so they make a few small triangular grounds
like here.
Apart
from what kind of statue is made, I think that it is wonderful that
they do not build a building in a triangle, but leave it open, and improve the feeling of openness. |
ピョートル1世像とその背景にある、
タンタン(『タンタンの冒険』[エルジェ (1907 - 1988) 作画の漫画] )風の漫画の垂れ幕の対比がおもしろいと思って撮影しました。
タンタンは、ベルギー生まれ！
のちに知りましたが、垂れ幕は、ベルギーの漫画、
"The Adventures of Nero" [by Marc Sleen (1922 -2016)] の中のキャラクター、
"オレプル船長" / "Captain Oliepul" で、しばしば、ほろ酔い加減で七つの海を帆走します。
また、『タンタンの冒険』の "ハドック船長" / "Captain Archibald Haddock" も
かなり酒好きです。
"The Adventures of Nero" [by Marc Sleen (1922 -2016)] の中のキャラクター、
"オレプル船長" / "Captain Oliepul" で、しばしば、ほろ酔い加減で七つの海を帆走します。

エルジェの漫画シリーズ。
中心にタンタンとスノーイ、タンタンの隣にハドック船長。

I was interested in the contrast between the Statue Peter the Great and its background, the banner is in Tintin ('The Adventures of Tintin') cartoon style.
Oh! Yes! Tintin is a Belgian!
Later, I found out that the banner shows a character, "Captain Oliepul" in a Belgian cartoon comic "The Adventures of Nero" [by Marc Sleen (1922 -2016)] and he often sails the seven seas while a little bit tipsy.

垂れ幕のポスター
船の名前は"HIS MAJESTY PULL"、'陛下のプル' Pull は、引っ張るという意味の他に、ボートを漕ぐ、 酒をぐいっと飲むという意味があるので、彼の船にぴったりな感じです。 作者は本当によく考えているというか、楽しんでいるというか....
作者、Marc Sleen は2016年11月に亡くなったので、
その記念のイベントか何かのポスターなのかもしれません。
Banner's Poster
The
ship (or boat)' s name is "HIS MAJESTY PULL".
Besides
the meaning of 'Pull' sometimes 'draw boat' and 'gulped down',
so
it is perfect for his ship (boat).
I
guess the cartoon author is thinking carefully and is enjoying it
....
Author, Marc Sleen died in November 2016,
so it may be that the poster is for a memorial event.

B. ウィンドー・ショッピング / Window Shopping
I heard that 'there are many antique shops in 'Kloosterstraat' Street, but because of road construction, there was not the atmosphere that I had anticipated.

Street は、骨董のお店が多いと聞いていましたが、道路工事のためか、期待してきた雰囲気はありませんでした。
そのことは以前にも感じていたのですが、この日にこの通りにきたのは、ベルギー王室御用達の"ベルベリー" / Belberry" のジャム（コンフィチュール/ confiture）が売っている店があると聞いたからでした。
けれど、それらしき店が見つからず、まあ、日本でも買えるとも聞いたのでアントワープで探すのは、やめました。
くるみ割り人形
あんまり、可愛くないところが好きです。
くるみ割り人形を見ると、
バレエの『くるみ割り人形』[作曲 : ピョートル・チャイコフスキー (1840 -1893)]
のイメージも同時にやってくるので、それも好きな理由です。
Nutcracker Dolls
I like the ones which are not so pretty.
Looking at the Nutcracker dolls, straightaway I have an image of the ballet ,
"The Nutcracker" [composer : Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 -1893)]
so they are my 'double favorites'.

I heard that 'there are many antique shops in 'Kloosterstraat' Street, but because of road construction, there was not the atmosphere that I had anticipated.
I also felt this before, but on this day I came to this street because I had heard there is a shop selling Belberry's jams (confitures).
However,
I later heard that I could buy them in Japan, after this I stopped searching in Antwerp.

実際は、リサイクル・ショップではないのでしょう。
私もRもトーテムポールが好きなので撮影しました。

3) ノイハウス / Neuhaus
チョコレートの老舗、ノイハウス
/ neuhaus に行きました。
1857年、ブリュッセルで創業、ベルギー王室御用達、日本では買えない.... とくれば、良いお土産になります。
(買えないと言っても、チョコレートを限定しなければ、ネットで買えますが...)
お店の方と相談しながら、ひとつひとつ二人で選びました。
なんと、一つ、試食させてくださいました。
私はコニャック入りを、Rは何を食べたかな？

Founded in Brussels in
1857, they have a Belgian Royal Warrant.
We can not buy them in Japan ....so these could be good souvenirs for Japan.

美しいチョコレート
ウィスキーボンボンは、飛行機で運ぶと壊れてしまうそう...なんと、繊細な！ なので、現地でしか食べられません。 Rはちょっと欲しそうだったので、彼に買うように薦めましたが 彼は買いませんでした。 私達、ほかのところでもチョコレートは買って、 アパートメントで食べていたので、 彼もバランスを考えて買わなかったのでしょう。

それでも家で食べるごはんは落ち着きます。
安上がりですしね。
Dinner
I made our dinner with whatever ingredients were available.
Still, though we ate our meal at home, we were relaxing.
It is also economical, isn't it?

この日(9日)までに4 軒のチョコレート屋さんで、チョコを買い、3軒のチョコ (上の写真) はアントワープ滞在中に毎日食べました。
うち、1軒、"マリー" /"
Mary" はお土産としてだけ買ったので食べていません。
私はもともと、甘いものがそんなに好きではないので、アントワープでは20年分のチョコレートを食べたように思います。

this day (9th), we had bought chocolates from 4 chocolate shops and we ate
chocolates from 3 of them (above) during our stay in Antwerp.
One
of them, "Mary", we had only bought as a
gift, so we did not try it.
Originally, I do not like sweet things so much, so I think that in Antwerp I ate 20 years worth of chocolates.
