"フラーイケンスガング / Vlaeykensgang"は、'中世の路地'、'秘密の路地裏'と呼ばれる場所です。
この路地の中に、日本人女性が経営するカフェがあり、日本人留学生にとって、'憩いの場' (?) になっていると聞いたので、探してみました。
リサーチすると、フラーイケンスガングの入り口は見つけにくいと、あります。
なるほど、実際、見つけにくい場所でした。
その上、路地内のお店がお休みらしく、それらしきカフェも閉まっていましたので、その路地を歩いていても、ここが本当にフラーイケンスガングであるのか、確信が持てませんでした。
なので、そのカフェが日本人女性が経営するカフェであるのか、オーナーがかわったのか、はたまた、違う場所を見ていたのか、私には確認できませんでした。

Vlaeykensgang
It is a place called 'Medieval Alley' or 'Secret Alley'.
I heard that somewhere in here is a cafe run by a Japanese lady which has become a 'Resting Place' (?) for Japanese students, so I tried to find the cafe.
In my research the entrance is hard to find, indeed it was hard to find.
Even worse, the shops in the alley seemed to be on holiday and the place I guessed to be the cafe seemed to have shut down, so even if I walked in that alley, I was not sure if this was really 'Vlaeykensgang'.
So,
I could not confirm whether the cafe was a cafe managed by a Japanese
woman, whether the owner changed, or whether I was looking at a
different place.

確かに心惹かれるものがあります。
ですが.....期待が大きすぎたのか、少々がっかりしました。
Certainly
there is something attractive.
However.....perhaps my hopes were too high,
so
I felt it turned out to be disappointing.

| 入り口は二箇所あり、こちらはもう一方のほうです。こちらは看板がないので、 初めての人が見つけるのはほぼ無理に感じます。 There are two entrances, this is the other one.
Since
there is no signboard here,
I feel it is almost impossible to find for the first time. |
2) 通り / Streets

たくさんの場所で工事が行われていたので、
通常の街の雰囲気は損なわれていたのかもしれません。
Construction was underway in many places,
so
the original atmosphere of the city might have been damaged.
 この通りはアンティークのお店が連なっているのですが、 工事のせいで、その雰囲気はまったく感じられませんでした。 This street has a series of antique shops,
but due to the construction, the atmosphere was not felt at all.

| 発想に驚かされます。 あとで知りましたが、"ネロとパトラッシュ"なのだそうです。 『フランダースの犬』[ウィーダ / Ouida (1839 -1908) 作 / 1871)] I am surprised at the idea. Later I heard that they are "Nello and Patrasche". They are characters in a novel, "A Dog of Flanders" [by Ouida (1839 -1908) / 1871)]. |
