❹ - 4) サセックスの旅 - サウスダウンズウエイ国立公園- B / The Trip in Sussex - South Downs Way National Park -A, 28th of August in 2013

引き返し地点 / Turning Point

彼らは進みますが、私達はここで引き返しました。
They were going this way, though we turned around here.

彼らと同じように、セブンシスターズと英国海峡を望みながら下ります。
While we looked to the Seven Sisters and the English Channel,
we walked down, like them.

上り! /UP!

また、上りです....
Again Up....

花に乏しい場所なので、花を見つけると一層嬉しい！

Here has few flowers, so when I found these flowers,

I became even happier!

カモメは崖を気にするはずもない...
Seagulls do not care about the cliff....

カササギ (マグパイ)
私は日本ではカササギを見たことがありませんが、
英国ではよく見かけます。
(日本での生息地域は狭いそうです)

見た目は美しいのですが、気性は獰猛。
英国では、あまり、歓迎されない鳥という印象がありますが、
日本では害虫を食べる益鳥だと知りました。

　マグパイは鳥、動物の中で、かなり頭が良いと考えられています。
カラスの仲間と聞くと、なるほど〜と思います。
どちらが頭が良いのかな？

マグパイ/ (European)Magpie
I never see Magpies in Japan, although I often see them in Britain.
(In Japan, they live in a limited region.)

The appearance is beautiful, although the temperament is fierce.
My impression is they are not welcome in Britain,
however, I found out it is a useful bird in Japan, because it eats harmful insects,.

Magpie is one of the most intelligent birds and also amongst animals as well.
After I read Magpie is in the Crow family, I feel indeed.
Which is cleverer?

シーフォードヘッドからのセブンシスターズ
家は沿岸警備隊コテージ。また、この景色を撮ってしまった。(笑)

From Seaford Head to Seven Sisters
The houses are the coastguard cottages.
Again I photographed this view.(laugh)

海岸を離れます。
Leaving the Beach

来た時とは違う道を選びました。
少しカックミア川から離れた丘側を歩きます。

We selected a path which was different from the one we took to the beach.
This path, which is a little further from the River Cuckmere, climbs a little.

戦死者の慰霊塔
英国海峡沿岸は古代ローマ時代 (BC 753-1453) より、
英国への侵略のスタート地点、上陸地とされてきました。
この慰霊塔は、おそらく第二次世界大戦 (1939-1945)のためのものでしょう。

The War Memorial
The coast of the English Chanel had been start points or landing points
for invasions of Britain since Ancient Rome (BC 753-1453) .
Probably this Memorial is for the Second World War (1939-1945).
