1) 友人M、来訪 / Friend M Visits 

英国在住の友人Mさんが、来訪し、一晩泊まりました。

彼女が一時帰国した際には、ほとんどの場合、我が家へ泊まってくれます。

通常クリスマスの装飾は12月間際もしくは、12月の初期にしますが、今年は、Mさんのために少し早く装飾を始めました。

夫Rと私が一度に全ての装飾をできるパワーを持ち合わせていないので、Mさんが泊まったときは、ほんのさわり程度の装飾でした。

それでも、彼女は、家がクリスマスモードに入っていることを感じてくれたと思います。

いつも忙しい日々に鎌倉宅までいらしていただき、ありがとうございます。

Friend M Visits 

Our friend M, who lives in the UK, came to visit and stayed overnight.

When she returns to Japan for a short visit, she almost always stays at our house.

Usually, we put up Christmas decorations just before or at the beginning of December, but this year we started decorating a little earlier for M.

My husband R and I don't have the energy to decorate everything at once, so we only decorated a little when M stayed over.

Still, I think she could sense that the house was in Christmas mode.

Thank you for coming to our home in Kamakura despite your busy schedule.

2) Rの誕生日プレゼントとカード 

    R's Birthday Present and Card

Rの誕生日は、9月ですが、彼は今年の誕生日に英国にいました。

彼が戻った今、友人カップル・H&T が彼のお誕生日プレゼントと

カードを送ってくださいました。

ありがとうございます。

R's Birthday Present and Card

R's birthday is in September, but he was in the UK on his birthday this year.

Now that he's back, a couple of friends：H&T sent him a birthday present and a card.

3) クリスマスの装飾 / Christmas Decoration

家族や友人達から届くクリスマスカードが素敵なので、処分することができず、ファイルに保存していました。

それでも、カード達がファイルの中だけにあるのは、もったいない気がして、数年前から、クリスマスデコレーションとして使用することにしました。

今回のクリスマスは、このテーブルに、
主に新しいクリスマスカードを飾ることにしました。
真ん中にセットしてあるカードやプレゼントは
私達からMさんと彼女の夫Robへのものです。

This Christmas, I've decided to decorate this table mainly
with our new Christmas cards.
The card and gifts in the middle are from us to
M and her husband, Rob.

Christmas Decoration

The Christmas cards I received from family and friends were so beautiful that I couldn't bring myself to throw them away and now keep them in files.

However, I felt it was a waste to have the cards just in files, so a few years ago I decided to use them as Christmas decorations.

見えて気に入っています。

I have it displayed on top of my copy machine.
I like how it has a reflection and looks like it's floating 
on the lake water.
