三の鳥居から入って、鶴岡八幡宮を正面に、右に源氏池 (ゲンジイケ)、左に平家池(ヘイケイケ) があります。
“産”(繁栄)の願いを込めた三つの島が浮かぶ源氏池と、“死”(衰退)を象徴する四つの島の平家池は、源平時代 (源平合戦 / ゲンペイガッセン / 1180 - 1185) を彷彿させるかのように、今もなお向き合っています。"

"鎌倉殿の13人 (カマクラドノノ13ニン・ 大河ドラマ館 ★"

行きました。
大河ドラマ館については下記。
鎌倉市鶴岡八幡宮の鎌倉文華館鶴岡ミュージアム内に「鎌倉殿の13人 大河ドラマ館」が併設され、2022年3月1日から2023年1月9日まで開設された
『鎌倉殿の13人』は、2022年に放映された、鎌倉幕府の初期の歴史をもとにした大河ドラマでした。

Heike Pond and 4 Islands
'Genpei Pond' has two parts ; Genji Pond and Heike Pond, located at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.
When you enter through the third torii gate and face the Main Building (Map 1), you will see Genji Pond to the right and Heike Pond to the left.
Genpei Pond was built by Minamoto no Yoritomo (1147 - 1199) at the command of Oba Kageyoshi (1128 - 1210) and the monk Ryōzen (?-?).
Genji Pond, with its three islands representing wishes for "Birth" ; prosperity.
"Birth" is “産 / San” in Japanese.
'San' has another meaning, three : 3, so the number of islands is three.
Heike Pond, with its four islands symbolizing "Death" ; decline.
"Death" is “死 / Shi” in Japanese.
'Shi' has another meaning, four : 4, so the number of islands is four.
The two ponds still face each other today, as if recalling the Genpei time (Genpei War / 1180 - 1185).

My husband R and I went to the "Kamakura Bunkakan Tsuruoka Museum" to see the Exhibition : "The 13 Lords of the Shogun・Taiga Drama Hall ★" {Dates: March 1, 2022 to January 9, 2023}.
About the Exhibition, below.
"The 13 Lords of the Shogun" was a taiga drama based on the early history of the Kamakura Shogunate that was aired in 2022.
After the exhibition, we walked next to Heike Pond.
You can't go all the way around the pond, but the path along the pond leads from the museum side to the map 24 : 'Saryo Kaze no Mori', and you can leave at the side of 'Kaze no Mori' and be on the main street.
'Saryo Kaze no Mori' is a cafe supervised by Hikage Jaya.

| ベンチ 人が横になれるサイズです。 現代アートの作品にも見えます。 美術館の周囲には、このベンチ以外にベンチがないと 記憶しています。 ほっと息をつける、秘密のベンチに思います。 Bench The bench is large enough for a person to lie down. It also looks like a work of modern art. As far as I can remember, there are no other benches around the museum. I think of it as a secret bench where you can take a breather. |

鶴岡ミュージアムと平家池 参道側から小島に入り、そこから平家池を眺めることは 時々ありますが、反対側の池沿いの小道を歩きつつ、 平家池と建物を眺めたのは初めてでした。 Tsurugaoka Museum and Heike Pond I sometimes enter the small island from the approach to the shrine and view the Heike Pond from there, however, this was the first time I had viewed the pond and the building while walking along the path on the other side of the pond. |

鶴岡ミュージアムと平家池 湖面に反映されることも考慮して設計されたと推測できます。 Tsurugaoka Museum and Heike Pond It can be assumed that the design took into consideration the reflection on the lake surface.  建物について 設計：坂倉 準三 (イタクラジュンゾウ / 1901 -1969) 1951年に開館した神奈川県立近代美術館・鎌倉館の ためにたてられました。 2020年、改修工事を終えて、"鎌倉文華館 鶴岡ミュージアム" : ★ に変わりました。 About the Building Designed by Junzo Itakura (1901-1969) It was built for the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Hall which opened in 1951. In 2020, after renovation work was completed, it was transformed into the "Kamakura Bunkakan Tsuruoka Museum" : ★ |
参道の賑わいから離れて、静かな場所でした。
負けてしまった平家にちなんだ平家池ならではの、環境だと思います。
鎌倉で、便利な場所で、静かに、洗練された風景を楽しめるのは、ラッキーなことです。
It is a quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of the approach to the shrine.
I think this is an environment unique to Heike Pond, named after the defeated Heike clan.
We are lucky to be able to enjoy a quiet, refined landscape in such a convenient location in Kamakura.
