My friends M and Izu and I visited Izumo Daijingū Shrine
in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture, had lunch at 'Beans Cafe' in Miyama, Kyoto Prefecture and 'Miyama's Thatched Village : Kayabuki-no-Sato', Nantan City in Kyoto Prefecture.

Soba in the East, Udon in the West
私の出身地の群馬県は、うどんが郷土料理だったように思います。
にも関わらず、'そばは関東、うどんは関西' というイメージが私にはあります。
これは一般的なイメージ？？？
このお店を選んでくれえたのも、Mでした。
とっても、この日の晩御飯にあっていた、好ましい選択でした。
M、ありがとう！

I think of udon as a local dish in Gunma Prefecture, where I'm from.
Is this a common image???
It was M who chose this restaurant for us.
It was a great choice, perfectly suited to dinner that day.

このお店で、びっくりすることがありました。
運転している最中から、Mは違和感を持っていましたが、私達に心配させないように、何も言っていませんでした。
下記、Wikiより
Mの場合も、出血により、ヒルによるものだとわかったのです。
こんなときに頼りになるのが、看護師のIzuです。
彼女らが川福のトイレで、処置をしている間、私にはどうすることもできず、席で待ちました。
しばらくすると二人が席にもどってきて、Mの具合 (かなり出血したことなど) や処置などをIzuとから聞きました。
Izuがいてくれて、本当によかった！
Izu、Mを手当てしてくれて、ありがとう！
Mは気丈にふるまっていましたが、私には、彼女がかなりダメージを受けたように見えました。
Mは大阪在住で、'川福' から車で10分ほどの場所に住んでいました。
私は、神戸のホテルに泊まっていて、Izuは、この日は、私とは別の神戸のホテルに泊まることになっていました。
北千里駅で、Mと別れるとき、彼女が申し訳なさそうに、手を振ってくれた姿を覚えています。
M、お大事にね。
MとIsu、今日は、一日、ありがとうございました。
また、明日！

| 暖かなうどん 暖かなうどんに癒されたことは覚えています。 でも、味がどのようであったかを覚えていません。 それは、このうどんが美味しくなかったという わけではありません。 Warm Udon I remember being comforted by the warm udon. But I don't remember what it tasted like. That doesn't mean the udon wasn't delicious. |
Please Take Care
Something surprising happened in this restaurant.
M got a leech on her leg while walking around 'Miyama's Thatched Village', and when we arrived at Kawafuku restaurant, her leg looked unwell.
M had been feeling something was wrong while she was driving, but she didn't say anything so we wouldn't worry.
According to Japanese Wiki about Leech, (translated by me)
"Even if you are bitten, the leech's saliva contains anesthetic ingredients, so you don't feel any pain as it sucks your blood, and you may only notice when you see the bleeding from the bite."
In M's case, bleeding revealed that it was caused by a leech.
Izu, the nurse, is someone we can rely on at times like this.
While she was treating M in the Kawafuku toilet, there was nothing
I could do, so I waited at our table.
After a while, they returned to our table and Izu told me about M's condition (she had been bleeding quite a bit, etc.) and the treatment she had given.
I'm so glad Izu was there!
Thank you, Izu, for treating M!
M was acting strong, but she looked to me like she was quite shocked.
M lives in Osaka, about a 10-minute drive from 'Kawafuku'.
I was staying in one hotel in Kobe, and Izu was going to stay in a different hotel in Kobe that day.
M offered to drive us to Shin-Osaka Station, but Izu and I said that the nearest station, Kita-Senri Station on the Hankyu Senri Line, would be fine.
I remember that when we and M said goodbye at Kita-Senri Station, she waved at us with an apologetic on her face.
