お盆にも秋のお彼岸にもお墓参りができなかったので、
本日(10月28日)に姉と行くことにしました。
母にも彼女の誕生日の3月に会ったのが最後だったので、お墓参り後に訪ねることにしました。
私達の先祖のお墓は、茨城県石岡市にあります。
私はJR品川駅から、姉はJR上野駅から、ときわ号に乗り、JR石岡駅で下車します。

Visiting the Family Grave
Since my sister and I weren't able to visit our family graves during Obon or the autumn equinox, we decided to go today (October 28th).
According to Wiki about Obon,
"Obon (お盆) or just Bon (盆) is a fusion of the ancient Japanese belief in ancestral spirits and a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors.
This Buddhist custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. "
The last time we saw our mother was on her birthday in March, so we decided to visit her after the grave visit.
Our ancestors' graves are in Ishioka city, Ibaraki prefecture.
I take the Tokiwa train from JR Shinagawa station, and my sister joins it from JR Ueno station, and we get off at JR Ishioka station.

I can sense the trial and error the planners went through to convince their clients, and it makes you feel a little sorry for them. I feel sorry for you, but I'm going to add insult to injury with the comment below. I am sorry. I have no knowledge of the area, so I can't understand the intention behind it. Am I the only one who thinks the black and acrylic case looks like a coffin? Also, roses and a coffin make me think of vampires. However, I think the image is lovely in its own way. |

Ryōmō Train
Our mother's house is in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture.
We could get to JR Kiryu Station from Ishioka Station using only JR trains, but we chose to take the Tobu (Liberty) Ryōmō Train from Tobu Railway・Asakusa Station to Shin-Kiryu Station.

B. ビストロ・ファンベック・マサミ
Bistro Fanbeck Masami
新桐生駅から、'ビストロ・ファンベック・マサミ' へタクシーで、
向かいました。
'マサミ'は、美味しいうえに、量もたっぷり。
コース料理を注文すると私達には多いすぎるので、今日はアラカルトで注文しました。
ワインはボトルでオーダーしました。
主菜以外は、姉と分け合いました。
シェフは、桐生の名店・シェマンドールで修行されました。
シェマンドールは、亡き父が利用した店なので、私達にとっては、
父の思い出とつながる店でもあります。
(父の頃は、シェマンドールは、'スズキ レストラン' そして、'ファンベック スズキ' でした）
桐生へ来た時には、かなりの確率で、ここで食事をしています。

Bistro Fanbeck Masami
From Shin-Kiryu Station, we took a taxi to Bistro Fanbeck Masami.
Masami's food is delicious and the portions are generous.
Ordering a full course meal would be too much for us, so we ordered ala carte today.
We ordered wine by the bottle.
My sister and I shared everything except the main dish.
The chef trained at the famous restaurant Chemin D'or in Kiryu.
Our late father used Chemin D'or, so for us, it is a restaurant that is connected to our father's memories.
(In my father's time, Chemin D'or was called 'Suzuki Restaurant' and then 'Fanbeck Suzuki'.)
Whenever I come to Kiryu, there is a good chance that I will eat here.

C. ハローウィン/ Halloween
母に季節感のあるお菓子を贈りたいと思いました。
ネットで、鶴屋吉信 (ツルヤヨシノブ)のハローインのお菓子を注文し、私達の訪問日に合わせて配達してもらいました。
母の家では、手拭いのハローイン柄を掛け軸のようにして、飾っていました。
母宅に、2泊して31日には、姉は蓮田へ、私は鎌倉へ帰りました。
Halloween
I wanted to give our mother some seasonal sweets.
I ordered some Halloween sweets from Tsuruya Yoshinobu online and had them delivered on the day we were visiting.
At my mother's house, I had a tenugui with a Halloween design on it, hung up like a hanging scroll.
We stayed in our mother's house for two nights, and on the 31st my sister retuned to Hasuda and I returned to Kamakura.
