私と夫Rは、軽井沢の友人RIさんを訪ねて、軽井沢に2泊3日しました。
初日のランチをした"オキザリス”の看板をデザインしたのは、軽井沢在住のトニー鈴木さんでした。(看板周りの物をデザインされたのかもしれません）
"オキザリス”については下記。
RIさんは以前から、トニー鈴木さんのアトリエ・ギャラリー : "アブラカタブラ" を訪ねてみたかったそうで、ランチ後に、みんなで "アブラカタブラ" に行きました。
トニーさんは、銀座にもトニー"トニー鈴木・銀座ギャラリー"を持っていらっしゃいます。
私は初めて知ったアーティストさんでしたが、売れっ子さん、というか、大御所でいらっしゃるようでした。
彼の作品は全てジークレー版画 / Giclée prints (インクジェットプリンター印刷) だそうです。
トニーさんは私達の突然の訪問にもかかわらず、にこやかな迎えてくださいました。
トニーさんは、海外生活もしていらしたので、Rと英語で問題なく会話もできました。
気さくな方で、おおらかなお人柄を感じました。

"ABRACADABRA"
I and my husband R visited Karuizawa's friend RI and stayed in Karuizawa for 2 nights and 3 days. (Maybe the things around the signboard were designed by him.)
It was Tony Suzuki, who lives in Karuizawa and designed the signboard for a restaurant, "Oxalis", where we had lunch on the first day.
About "Oxalis", below.
RI had wanted to visit Tony Suzuki's atelier gallery : "Abracadabra" for a long time, so after lunch we all went to "Abracadabra".
Tony also has "Tony Suzuky Ginza Gallery" in Ginza, Tokyo.
This was the first time I knew of this artist, but he seemed to be a hot seller, or be a leading figure in art rather than hot seller.
All his works are Giclée prints (printed by an inkjet printer).
Tony welcomed us with a smile despite our sudden visit.
He has also lived abroad, so he was able to have a conversation with R in English without any problems.
He is a friendly person and I felt a laid back personality.

実は、"アブラカタブラ" は、軽井沢千住博美術館 (カルイザワ センジュ ヒロシ ビジュツカン) の道を挟んだ真前です。
車を移動しようとしましたが、トニーさんが車を彼の駐車場にそのまま置かせてくれたので、私達は徒歩で向かいました。
トニーさん、ありがとうございました。
私は、千住 博 (1958 ~)氏の作品を直に見たことが一度もなかったので、いつか見てみたいと思っていました。
この日まで、軽井沢千住博美術館 があるということを知りませんでした。
そして奇遇にも"アブラカタブラ"に近かったので、千住博美術館 を訪ねることができたことは、嬉しい驚きでした。

We tried to move the car, but Tony said leave the car in his car park, so we went the Museum on foot.
Tony, Thank you very much.
I had never seen Hiroshi Senju (1958 ~)'s work directly, so I wanted to see it someday.
Until this day, I didn't know that there is his Museum.
It was a pleasant surprise to be able to visit the Senju Museum of Art because it was strangely close to "Abracadabra".

| 日本語版と英語版が同様の内容で用意されているのが嬉しいです。 I am glad that the Japanese version and the English version are prepared with the same contents.  2011年に軽井沢千住博美術館はオープンされました。 西沢 立衛 (ニシザワ リュウエ / 1966 ~) : ★氏の設計で、 館内のソファや椅子も西澤氏のデザインです。 Senju Museum Karuizawa was opened in 2011. Design by Ryue Nishizawa (1966 ~) and the sofas and chairs in the Museum are also designed by him.  美術館内は撮影禁止ですが、ウエブサイトで、 その清々しい素敵な空間と作品群は見ることができます。 Photography is prohibited in the Museum, though you can see the refreshing and lovely space and some of his works : ★  画材や道具の展示があり、面白く見ました。 There was a display of painting materials and tools, and it looked interesting.  ミュージアム・ショップで探していた '熊野のブラシ' を見つけました。 びっくり嬉しい発見でした。 数本購入！ I had been looking for 'Kumano Brushes' which I found them in the museum shop. It was a surprisingly happy discovery. Bought a few!  |

| カタログを買いました。 I bought a catalog.  館内の様子はウエブサイトで見ることができます。 が、ページをめくり、新たな風景を見る喜びは 紙ものを好きな人間にとっては格別です。  You can see inside of the museum in their website ★, however, the joy of turning pages and seeing new views are exceptional for people who like paper.  千住の庭 建物と庭木が共存しているような、内と外が一体化しているような建物です。 また、床面はなだらかな傾斜があり、カーペットが敷かれているので、 芝の上を歩いているような錯覚がおきます。 あちらこちらに展示されていました。 チフリの作品がガーデンの一部となりつつもその存在をアピールしていました。 あれは非常にカラフルな世界でした。 ここは色を抑えつつも、あの時の環境と作品の関係に似ているように思います。 通常アート作品展示は直射日光を避けますが、ここはあえて日光を取り入れる設計です。アーティスト本人の理解がなければ、実現しなかった空間だと思います。 Garden of Senju It is a building where the inside and the outside are integrated, as if the building and garden trees coexist. In addition, the floor has a gentle slope and is carpeted, giving the illusion of walking on the grass. In 2005, works by Dale Chihuly (1941 ~) were exhibited in Kew Gardens. Chihuly's works became part of the garden as well as they clearly showed their existence. That was a very colorful world. I think this is similar to the relationship between the environment and the work at that time, while suppressing the colours. Normally, art exhibitions avoid direct sunlight, but this is designed to take in sunlight. I think it would not have been possible without the understanding of the artist himself. |
C. 水の記憶 / Memory of Water
千住 博氏の代表作は、ウォーターホール・滝です。
この美術館に来るまで、私は滝のシリーズの作品しか知りませんでした。
滝のシリーズは私の好きな作品群ですし、多くの方もそうでしょう。
実際の滝のシリーズの作品を見たのは初めて！
うっとりとしてしまいました。
大胆さと繊細さが美しく表現されていました。
具象作品があることに多少驚き、面白く見ました。
私の作品の発想のもとは水であると認識しています。
滝シリーズは、見ていてとても気持ちが潤いますし、創作意欲を刺激されもします。
作品タイトルも好きな言葉が多く、中にはすでに私が自分の作品タイトルとして使用していた物："星降る夜に" などもありました。

Memory of Water
Hiroshi Senju's major work is a "Waterfall" series.
Until I came to this museum, I knew only the works of his Waterfall series.
The Waterfall series is my favourite work group, and probably many people are too.
This was my first time I've seen works from the actual Waterfall series!
I was fascinated.
Boldness and delicacy are beautifully expressed.
I was a little surprised that there were representational works, and
I looked at them with interest.
Basically my work's ideas come from water....I recognize.
The Waterfall series is very refreshing to look at and stimulates my creativity.
There are many words for the title of the work I like, including the one I already used as the title of one of my works : 'When the Stardust Falls'.

| '星降る夜に' ハガキセット: ★ "星降る夜に" には、物語があり、千住 博氏の センティメンタルな面を感じました。 こんな甘い世界も描くのだな〜と驚きつつ見ました。 彼にとって新しい試みなのかもしれません。 Postcard Set of 'When the Stardust Falls': ★ 'When the Stardust Falls' has a story, and I felt the sentimental aspect of Hiroshi Senju. 友人RIさんに合うのが目的の軽井沢旅行でしたが、次によかったことはこの美術館を訪れることができたことでした。
Our trip to Karuizawa was to meet our friend RI, but the next good thing was that I was able to visit this museum.
